Thanks for noticing those, I actually received those from "Boxcar" the piano tech for Lynyrd Skynyrd. I met him in Nashville once upon a time. I just subscribed to your channel too. I'm a big fan! Thanks!

My old turntable sadly died and I fell down a rabbit hole researching a good replacement. I’m certainly not new to vinyl appreciation but I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile either. I just wanted a reliable, affordable turntable. Your unboxing video of this AH1 was really helpful during my decision making and I ended up purchased it. Angels Horn had a nice New Year sale and I picked it up for $160. I must say, the counterbalance set up almost broke me… SO frustrating. The whole “make sure tone arm floats level off the stand” before dialing in the tracking force was so hard because it kept drifting right. Same as you experienced in your video. I finally ignored it and leveled the best I could with the drift. I’m still not sure I have it set up right. I used a scale to measure the tracking force and adjust it to the recommended 3.5G. I rechecked it throughout the day after playing records and the tracking forced varied quite a bit… anywhere from 3.3 - 3.8g. I thought it would be more consistent which led me to thinking the balance is still off. Any advice on setting up that counterbalance would be appreciated.

Thanks for sharing and glad you grabbed one of those turntables, I have two Angels Horn turntables that I use in spare bedrooms of my house and they both work very well. As far as the counterbalance set up, my only advice is to find the best balance you can get and adjust the counter weight accordingly. If you are still having issues with it, I would reach out to Angels Horn directly, they are very good about responding and they should be able to help you. Thanks for checking out the video!

Here is the message I just received from Angels Horn:
      Hi friend,
I am really sorry for that, you can increase the stylus pressure, please try to adjust the counterweight to 3.8g, 3.5 is not the only standard. If there is a problem with the tone arm, you can increase or decrease it appropriately until the tone arm can be used normally.
Looking forward to your understanding and try, and any problems, please feel free to contact us, we will provide solutions within 24 hours, this is our after-sale service email:

I have the predecessor to this turntable, the Demons Horn 666. It plays all your records backwards. I don’t recommend it.

I purchased an Angel Horn player in May of 2022 (not this model) for $199 and within (3) months, the belt mechanism failed. Their customer service was very friendly and responsive. They shipped me a new belt for free. Unfortunately for me, even after I replaced the belt, it was an issue with the belt motor or drive itself. They issued me a full refund, even 2.5 mos later. I ended up buying an AT120 direct drive, but my experience with AH overall is very positive.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Angels Horn 👍🏼 I own two of their turntables and they have both worked great for me so far. I hope to add an update video in the near future. Thanks!

@@mountainmanpicker My pleasure. I think they are nice machines. I think if/when I add a second turntable, I would consider them again. It seems like I may have just gotten a lemon, those things happen with electronics at times

This does look sharp. I don't like the fact the 45/33 knob is in the back by the arm. My Sony 70's? is a button to push in the front and I use it all the time. It's been super reliable since 1993/94 back when used record players were $15. I tested some used Crosley suitcase players and all were broken. Bad power supply so don't get those.

Thanks for checking out the video, I do not recommend the Crosley suitcase turntables, I’ve tried a couple, but this Angel’s Horn record player surprised me! I’ve been using it all day in my office and it works great. It’s great quality for the money 👍🏼
