This looks really stylish! I don’t get to listen to my vinyl all that often, as the old Sony turntable is part of our living room setup, but this looks like it would be great as a small office system. Thanks for the review!
This is a really nice record player. I really like the brushed silver. The fact that it has some considerable weight means that the build quality is good and sturdy. Most of the record players that I've seen don't come included with separate speakers. It's nice that this one comes included with a nice pair of high quality speakers. The current record player that I have is the Audio Technica AT LP60XBT. It's a good quality entry level record player that doesn't break bank so to speak. However, the only problem is that the tonearm and record player itself are fairly lightweight. The most important thing is that it gets the job done and it plays records perfectly fine. I have a pair of Logitech speakers that are hooked up to it and they sound pretty good, especially given how small they are. Otherwise, thanks, Heath! I really appreciate it! God bless and stay safe!
I bought an early model ATLP60 when they were new on the market back in the aughts and I used it for years. Very solid entry level player that's miles better than anything Crosley has put out. In fact, my brother in law has it in his apartment now, and it's still going strong.
At first turn on of the unit, there is a relay clunk then a loud buzzing sound. This sound is the transformer inside the turntable and part of the power supply section. It's mounted to the bottom plate with a large bolt, so any noise from it resonates thru the entire case. Did you notice this as well?
Wow, that looks pretty nice! I've had a wonderful Technics player for decades that broke down, and I've been surviving on a cheaper Sony until I can fix it, but maybe something newer is a possibility. Wouldn't need the speakers though. I'll definitely take a closer look.
I've kinda burned myself out on vintage turntables because they eventually seem to end up with lots of problems. My favorite vintage turntable is a linear tracking player that I picked up at an antique store, but took some money to get back into proper working order and even now, the automatic stop kicks in too early and cuts off the end of each side. I've also got a vintage Sharp player that spins too fast and I can't seem to slow it down no matter what I do or how many parts I replace. New players sidestep all the quirks and potentially-expensive pitfalls of vintage, and they have so many features the older ones don't. Technics was always one of the best, though! I'm using a Technics receiver for the component system in my living room.
@@CerealAtMidnight Since your video, I've gone down a rabbit hole of looking at all sorts of brands/models of the newer turntables available. This may take some time, if I choose anything at all. They seem to usually come with Bluetooth also, which I don't need, but oh well.
The quality and features looks really good and it gets reflected on the price. Maybe for someone more than just a occasional audiophile with love for LP. For modest budget i will stay with the basic turn table of Audio-tecnica :)
@@CerealAtMidnight Its a AT-LP60X, i believe is their basic model, with a couple Edifier speakers. Its a simple setup but the sound is great and i didn't break the back with it. What i love too is their support. My wife at some point had troubles listening to the lp as the needle would not work, i reached out their support and after a few questions they determinate it was a bad stylus. Send me a new one right away and within 3 days I got it, replaced and the turn table was back as new. All free of charge! :)
I did buy the Fluance and I love it. I don't know if I can compare it to the Angels Horn Phantom, since the Fluance is a component that I've got connected to other stereo equipment that I've been using for many years.

Remember diamond needles 1000 plays, sapphire needles 500 plays. If you don't follow that your record to get scratched.

I want one. Would prefer an acrylic platter or rubber mat.

Which Audio Technica do you have? I'm a big fan of that company.

It’s a nice setup but a little bit more than what I need. I have the stereo and speakers. I would only need the turn table.
Hey, Heath! I was wondering if you ever picked up that Fluance turntable you had your eye on and how this would compare?
