Go for it, if you want it, but please don't count the tones in this video as "selling points" for Solar guitars. They are really good instruments and stuff, but this kind of tone is 97,82% fingers/hands. Given that you have the right Amp. Just saying.
Great Episode! Most of it is practising the right hand techniques. It took me YEARS, to neil such a song (but now I can do 'em all ^^ ). Speaking about it: Enter THE heavy metal technique, "Muted pedal tones". ChugChugChug on the E or A string. Good exaples (and easy enough): "Seek and destroy" and "Creeping Death" by Metallica, or anything from Savatage ;)
Otyg (Scandinavian Folk Metal group) did a brilliant cover as well about 22 years ago (back in my college radio days), but the tone is probably pretty basic, unless you want to hit the tone of the fiddle (maybe as an April Fools episode. 😂)
I really respect the effort but this tone is so far of from a kse tone as it can be. Adam D is famous for using 5150/6505 with a maxon od808 in front. Back then they where playing emg 81 pickups. So the basic tone is far less dry and more compressed. If you want the tone get a 5150ish amp, a TS style boost, a cab with v30 and emg 81 and wear shorts and a superman cape
@@ErebosGRtrue but only live. The hit the tone quest is the „holy diver“ tone. That was back when daylight days came out. And Adam stated, to correct my former coment, that he used a triple rectifire and a soldano on the record. So if you want to hit the tone from back then you should use something in that vein. The marshall in the video isn’t suited for that specific tone.
This is not how you play the song. For some reason you're adding a pull off to the riff, you got the verse rhythm wrong and maybe learn to do a pinch harmonic before covering this song. Also, Duncan Solar pickups don't compare to active EMGs (or Fishmann Fluence) and a Marshall combo does not come close to the amps that were used to record this..
Awesome version! Awesome video! Brutal sound! Congratulations! 😄
You did hit the tone on this one!
Love this version 🤘🏽
Honestly the original video for this tune is also hilarious.
I am totally gonna get me one of those Solar guitars in the near future

That was 10+ years ago. They moved to Laney Ironhearts 7-8 years ago and then to the Tony Iommi ones.
