I think it's actually harder to nail perfectly disposable heroes on rhythm guitar than master of puppets
Hetfield would be proud mon ami, don't sweat it, cheers!
Aaaah I see you're a man of culture by your account name my friend, merci beaucoup! // Guillaume
I think James plays from 12 fret E1
Oh that might be absolutely true! I’ve seen so many versions trying to get the sound right I was just confused at this point 😅 but thanks for bringing it up! // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses It definitely is, he plays it like that live
Great vid, is that the standard size Dava pick or Jazz iii size?
'Death' Symbolic is a great riff
and a pretty "easy to achieve" tone
Love this series. If you could, Iron maiden next, please!
4 possible tones that I think would be lovely to explore: classic era dirty ones (like The Trooper, Phantom of the Opera), classic clean (fear of the dark, hallowed); and newer album tones clean and dirty
Downstroke domination 🤘🏽pleasant screams that I’ve been after 🤘🏽
This video shoot is the most downpicking I’ve done in my entire life 😂 //G
😂
Ahh yes. Master of Puppets, or as I like to call it, the right-hand breaker
100% agreed haha // Guillaume
Sounds sick G. Keep em coming dude.
Would love to see an EVH ep, maybe Panama? Or Runnin with the Devil?
since you got MoP right, what about Kill 'em All or Ride the lightning? (the four horseman maybe, i'd really love that)
Yes yes yes!!!!
This song🔥🔥🔥
Nice work! Would be really interested for the Manowar Tone (Guitar + Bass)
Thanks!! And that’s one cool recommendation I’ll work on this :) // Guillaume
Nice! 😎👍
Good job 👍. Don't listen to most of your commentors, they were born with these problems.
Hahaha thank you so very much Douglas! :) // Guillaume
I totally agree. Nails this stuff with a still in recovery arm and gets fucked up and just plain stupid comments about "not as fast as Hetfield" or "They didn't slave the power amp in this song". Come ON! What the actual fuck is wrong with people? He sounds really really good, plays really really good and they are still nit picking the shit out of stuff, they probably can't even start to play themselves.
Gosh...
Dead Memories by Slipknot!
There’s some Slipknot coming soon my friend!:) // Guillaume
2:30 minutes in it's already wrong. They did not use the slaved Mesa/Marshall combo for the rythm sound. It's just a MK2C++, Flemming Rassmussen has confirmed this himself.
That’s not bad lol work on those palm mutes though and downpicking haha and btw that last bit on the intro is all palm muted. No hammer ons or slides 🤘🏼
Also you have done a very good job on his time , I wish we all could have Mesa boogies and all the goods lol
how about a Marshall MG30FX + a Boss ML-2 ?
nice vid as usual. have you had a foo fighters song on the channel yet? i can't remember 🤔
Oh my god how have I not done any Foo Fighters yet that is the BEST recommendation thank you so much!! // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses looking fwd to it 😁
Just trying this now it’s a killer all doen strokes. I can only get it up to 195 BPM
This tone is not quite like the album, but it's very good. I would just use one amp though.
once you practice this for awhile, your picking hand will be much stronger and have muscle memory...the part that always fucked with me is the 078 fill played five times until the low E picking kicks in (Verse)... something about that transition is a bitch for me to nail 100%...awesome song, hard as hell to Master (no pun intended).
The slaved Boogies is kind of a myth. They only did that for one or two songs, and I'm not sure if the title track was one of them. The rest were just 2C+ straight into the cabs.
Here's the notes from Flemming Rasmussen (the producer) for the MoP record:

Oh my god man that's incredible I had no idea these notes existed!! Thank you so much for the information! :) // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses My pleasure! :D
some megadeth maybe?? :D Or like Korn, or some punk bands ^^
The Great Southern Trendkill by Pantera 🤘.

Carpal-tunnel down picking in 3-2-1 ah!!!!!!!!

Ghost of Predition Opeth
"Why James?!" Been there before.
One of the biggest stores in Europe, don't you have a Jackson guitar anywhere to make this video?🤔
Haha we did, and I understand your point, but I didn't want to take it out of our stocks and make a B-stock out of it when I had a perfectly good guitar in the studio :) // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses That's fine
Some van halen next! Aint talking bout love!
Хлеб
intro is wrong
It’s not a pull off it’s a chromatic riff going down the scale, listen to track and you’ll hear it, also same with battery instead of the inverted 4 of the D and 5 of the A string, you’ll still hear the 4 on the D and 6 on the A but that variation is only when the enter the main riff again
One time slowly would have been nice...
I'm sorry about that, that shooting was a bit rushed. You can always slow it down with the UA-cam speed tool in the bottom right corner of the video :) // Guillaume
It’s super easy bro lol and he’s playing it right but wrong at the same time lol
Strange Dejavu Dream Theater
Jambi Tool
Metallica took all the easy power chords
genius
Sixteen Men of Tain by Allan Holdsworth i double dare you!
Hahahaha yeah right sooooo...... hopefully maybe someday but you're gonna have to wait for a while ^^ // Guillaume
Wish I was back home on farm bye
All intro is in low E and no slide from F# to F you pick both notes. Come on man that's not difficult to find out.
learn it properly before filming??
I think Metallica has shitty tone. Emg 81 into rectifiers with the mids scooped out.
You described AJFA tone. "Master of puppest" was recorder with passive p\u
@Hitachi Mikado I'm not sad one bit, and their early tones still suck.
um... wrong, like all over the place, wrong
Wrong wrong wrong
