Hey, smoother intro. But this is not a Casey Niestadt video so your new editors need to go a little easier on cutting out every silence. This is a data rich conversation and just like you took breaths in order to continue speaking, the listener needs tiny pauses in order to mentally digest the information. Plus, it just sounds more natural and less choppy.
I would have like it much more if she wouldn’t have been so stressed. Is she breathing?

I beg that young men be educated around their body and how vital it is for having yearly checks .
Female s at a tender agee struggle with menstrual pain, pregnancy discomfort, birthing pain but we as females talk about it.
Men don't, much to their demise.
I think its necessary that men push their pride aside and listen to the message their bodies sends them.
From a 74 yr old granny in Cape Town.
As Men, we don't value our lives. Because no one except our moms gives the tinniest fuck about us. If we die, who cares? That's why. Sorry, Grandma.
Sorry for your loss. Yeah that's good advice
@michaelfox301 partners, children, siblings, friends, and others care, too. I live my life so I'll have a big funeral when I'm gone.
true. yet its crazy bc most studies on illnesses are done on men for men.
@michaelfox301, elaborate funerals are overrated and one of the largest breeders of poverty, especially in developing countries and among poor people.
So...
Appreciation is best expressed in life and not in eulogy!
The reason ejaculation lowers risk of prostate cancer is because we live unhealthy lives to begin with.
Thus the prostate then benefits from a regular flush by ejaculation.
There was a study done on the christian monks of mount Athos.
These monks never ejaculate. And yet they were 5 times less likely to get prostate cancer than the general population.
Its because these monks eat healthy, do physical work, sleep well and experience a strong sense of community.
So its a W for most men who live said unhealthy life.
@@MineCraft-nz9pg Rather a crutch.
That's because we get constant stimulation wherever we look at. In contrary to monks.
Yeah, it's just correlation
They say they don't ejaculate but clearly they have hobbies on the side.

Excellent commentary from Rena - very authentic and human rather than over educationalized and theoretical.
Dear Dr Malik: This was the most articulate, and entertaining, discussion of the subject that I have ever encountered. Bravo.
This is amazing! I love discussing similar topics with clients and followers. Gonna share this with my clients as necessary, thanks for the knowledge! Loving this episode ❤
I want to say I absolutely love the questions Steven asks. These conversations are always so good. Thank you for sharing this important information with the world

Great interview - open, honest, frank, probing and dealing with a subject not raised or considered enough.
Very infomative episode, no one teaches these things at any level and to get to learn about all this for free is just amazing thank you very much!
i really wanted to comment that Dr Rena is one of the most informative guests you've had to date. In having said that though it is important to note that you aren't scared or hesitant in anyway to ask the questions. I wish this podcast had been around about the time my son was 14 or 15 (or earlier). Even though we were always really frank about sex it was about girls, not so much about sexual health or the differences in the way men and women approach sex, how important a good sex life is for your health, work, wellbeing, and mental health. Great podcast, thank you.
Brilliant… clear, precise, deep, caring … such a wonderful interview. Thank you so very much.

When someone says Porn is not bad, then you have to stop listening to them. Porn is destroying society today.
awe salami's ilake them
I think like some addictions there's some who can feasibly have a "healthy" time using it but there's also people who need to abstain and not let it control their actions or thoughts. I'm in no way an advocate of it however. Some people can go out and have a couple drinks every weekend and others who can't even keep alcohol in their house for the rest of their lives.
@@WalterSobchak91 it's wrong to compare masturbation to alcohol, masturbation does not destroy your body, while alcohol does. In 99% of cases "porn addiction" develops only if you have an underlying psychological problem (depression, ocd, etc) and goes away as soon the main cause get treated.
The only real problem is that men and women who often watch porn can have a bit less "drive" to search for a partner.
No that credit goes to Biden.
What way is porn contributing to the destruction of the white mans world???
I’ve been seeing a Urologist since I was 18 due to a motorbike accident. As he was aging at that time he constantly dilated my urethra instead of installing a stint (which is now condemned) or by actually fixing the issue of scar tissue growing and closing the urethra.
I went through catheter dilation for 18 years before getting a new Dr that installed the stint. Now the stint is taboo and the only Drs that will touch me are at OHSU in Portland, OR. It’s only a 6 hour drive so it’s not too bad, but no locals will even look at me.
This was all said in order to say thank you for speaking up on any and or all of these issues. Most Urologist’s I’ve found only talk about things if there’s a serious medical issue. I’ve learned more from you than I have the local Drs in 38 years. Thanks again!!
I love her 😀 She expresses her ideas so clearly and quickly! Note that Steven even rarely asks her clarifying questions, which is unusual :)
Masturbating by yourself also comes with its disadvantages and I think that those disadvantages definitely outweigh the benefit of reduced prostate cancer risk. Masturbating by yourself 21 times a month kills your drive to seek an actual partner and could possibly affect performance once you finally have a sexual interaction with an actual person in person. Masturbation is kind of like a surrogate for sexual interaction with an actual partner and it also messes up dopamine regulation in your body.
Sure....as a woman, I would feel alarmed if my guy was masturbating that much like aren't I enough?!?!?! Plus, I would feel like he wouldn't give me a good time in bed just because he had it already. I feel like masturbating wasn't really a thing before and now it is especially because of porn being so available now (online). I wouldn't want my guy to consume porn ever first of all because usually violent sex is portrayed which has a ripple effect of macho culture. Plus I think it actually decreases a man's pleasure of actual sex with a partner. I'd want to be the only woman he sees and sleeps with. 😇
Agree
Bro they didn’t say masturbating reduces cancer risk, ORGASM does, just fuck 21 times a momth
Better something than nothing.
I also agree.
Fascinating and so very compassionate real-life discussion!
Yet another reason why I am thrilled to be a subscriber!

This is my new TED Talk. I love this show.
Best most informative interview I've seen... Dr. M is absolutely amazing... usually don't comment... she deserves it... she's absolutely amazing!
Since a few weeks I noticed that you started to ask questions based on what your others guests spoke about which is great. In this episode specifically you asked about porn and masturbation and their negative effects to a guest who is actually for those things. Thank you for really asking the questions we want to ask as viewers especially following what other experts, you have invited to the show, have spoke about. It still doesn't shed light on the actual absolute truth and I'm realizing that the goal at this point is to hear what the opposite argument is and ultimately it is about choosing what we want to believe for ourselves.
Though I find that unfortunate because it opens the door for misinformation and confusion, all these talks proves to me that science is imperfect as experts keeps denying other experts on the same subject, but asking those questions the way you do, by being respectful, funny and friendly like when you commented to that guest: '' you don't look (or sound) convinced'' have made your interviews more interesting as it challenges with gentleness (I find) your guests.
The only thing that keeps being repeatedly done at times is that sometimes some of your guests speak about something and then contradicts themselves and I find that it would be great to just bring that out quickly and ask why is it contradicting. For example in this episode your guests spoke about how true it is that the testosterone levels in males is decreasing every year and yet towards the end of the episode the penis length of younger generation is longer than the previous because they are exposed to testosterone earlier? What? isn't that contradicting? Being exposed to testosterone earlier means what? to be exposed to more testosterone? However the issue is that it is decreasing... I find that there is something to shed light upon here. It would have been great to ask your guest about how does these two studies can correlate or make sense or even perhaps which one is lying?
The last thing I want to mention is that she is ok with pornography and masturbation and yet there are admitted concerns from her part about people being addicted to it, to be misinformed about our bodies and sexual knowledge because of it, as well as habituating the body and the brain about what turns on an individual (essentially young people and more realistically young males), and lastly she showed a clear concern about the actual fact that literally kids are exposed to that type of content very early in their lives which can then triggers the problems I just enumerated. It would have been interesting then to ask her about how can she still say that pornography is ok if the content can potentially bring so much problems and concern as everyone is different and nobody knows how they will react (she even herself admitted that everyone is different multiple times in the episode). It's like saying that it's ok to take a certain medication that can cause death to certain people when the reality is that not knowing how you personally will react to that certain medication, your best bet is not to take it especially if the alternative is health. Going back to pornography, the alternative to all the potential problems sounds to me, from the episode and other speakers in social media, are; healthy relationships, and healthy sexual responses and arousals. Though I understand why you need to have your discussions by being and sounding neutral with curiosity, it is when you challenges you guests that makes the questions interesting in my opinion and makes the show valuable in it's content because there is a search for truth.
Anyways, very interesting episode. Kind of a bit odd to see a woman talking so well and in actual relatable details about how men's reproductive organ works. For someone who doesn't have the equipment, she really do know the literature about it.
Dr Rena Malik is one of my favourite doctors to listen to. I literally finished this interview in its entirety. Very informative and useful as always.

Another thoroughly enjoyable episode! You consistently have great guests on. Even though I have heard much of this content before, I had not heard from this doctor in particular. She was very knowledgeable and articulate. I think we have to continually update ourselves on sex (no matter how old we are), rather than thinking we know it all -- as new knowledge on the topic is always coming to the fore.
This was a very insightful interview, great information.

I am so glad I came of age before online porn. I look at that stuff and it just isn't real. I have learned something from every woman I have known and the most important thing I learned is that they are all different. I had to learn how to respond to their needs without them giving explicit instructions. Often we were both trying to figure things out and wow that was so much fun.
As a woman, I commend you. 👏👊
I miss the days of waiting for the porn pic to load
Thats why you watch amateur category
@@hanskazan7403 Yeah but I am not a fan of cellulite, stretch marks, razor burn and butt pimples. I do get your point however.
It's called amateur porn. Before it went online, there was way less available. You came of age when it was mostly produced by studios.
And now make a video on the serious problem with porn, the link to the breakdown of relationships and to human trafficking.
I would recommend Matt Fradd as guest.
Edit; porn, not morning.
Decriminalize prostitution.
Yea I think this woman has a naive view of porn. Because of how sex impacts the brain, pornography essentially short-circuits other systems, undermining secure attachment and intimacy. Frequent porn viewing is associated with lower sexual satisfaction. Pornography use begets loneliness, and loneliness begets pornography use.
@@gordo3582 But like how people can drink responsibly or abuse alcohol, isn't it the same with porn?

The widespread belief that sex inherently benefits health, perpetuated by modern society, actually contributes to shortened lifespans, particularly among men. For men who do not practice semen retention, the repercussions are diverse and significant. They experience decreased sperm quality, leading to issues like low energy levels and testosterone. This deficiency affects sleep patterns and self-control, making it challenging to redirect energy towards more meaningful pursuits, consequently impacting confidence levels. Furthermore, their immune system suffer, as sperm contains vital minerals and vitamins acting as antioxidants to combat free radicals.
Why don't he invite someone who does semen retention instead of a so called expert on excessive fornication. Semen retention is an ancient art and many masters of the past and present still do it. The Chinese would say the semen is the "Jing" or life essence. Spilling it is like what they call it in French, le petite mort
@@veronicasung1683 wow, you guys are actual fanatics, there are zero studies in any countries that confirm any benefit from abstinance. Your testosterone level stays the same and sperm quality recovers in a day after ejaculation.

I've been on an infertility journey for the last 4 years and the words spoken in this podcast could not be more true, I used to drink, smoked cannabis and not look after myself - after turning it all around and having various tests over the years I have improved the concentration, motility and numbers in my sperm count exponentially!
No or low sugar intake, a healthy lifestyle, good foods, no saunas, low caffeine intake! - natural fats and resistance training is everything I've added a huge impact is keeping your genitals COOL - I used frozen packs down there 20mins a day!! looking after your gut - I've cleared skin problems I had for years and am at the best I've ever felt - regular ejaculation also is key!
No saunas? Saunas are the best thing you can do for heart health and longevity.

lol... If you take 10 minutes to double check the crap she said, almost NONE of those statements are based on science. NONE! She is a certified idiot youtube-influencer with a narcisist ego who makes up her own opinions. 10 minutes of your life will prove she is a charlatan.
Excellent!!! open honest no shy questions or answers I learned a lot this doctor is AWESOME!!
Excellent video. Super helpful. Blessings
The Harvard ejaculation study found no evidence that frequent ejaculations mark an increased risk of prostate cancer. In fact, the reverse was true: High ejaculation frequency was linked to a decreased risk. Compared to men who reported 4-7 ejaculations per month across their lifetimes, men who ejaculated 21 or more times a month enjoyed a 31% lower risk of prostate cancer.
Web md says, that there’s no proof that ejaculating more actually causes lower chances of prostate cancer. For now, doctors just know they’re connected. It may be that men who do it more tend to have other healthy habits that are lowering their odds.
If you keep looking at the science, you will go insane. Science always contradicts itself with varying studies. If you just jack off your whole life non stop, you think you're not going to have any consequences? Of course you will. So then where's the optimal amount? ZERO sex for optimal health. But it's not natural. Men have to do it at some point, or we would go crazy.
Idk about prostate cancer, but IT WILL affect your central nervous system. It WILL slow you down. YOU WILL become less agile. Use some common fucking sense by looking at PEOPLE. The voices of real people in your life. NOT what your goddamn computer tells you LOL. Of course the internet wants you to be addicted to it. Traps you. Feeds off you. These aren't hard concepts to understand.
@erinl1730 do what more? Masterbate or have intercourse? It seems the study didn't specify, but i wonder if having a healthy relationship leads to other health benefits.
