My old man was a tracker/forward scout in Vietnam, he tracked down a lost detecorist in WA once. Good work blokes. Sucks getting lost.
Damn one of the worst roles you could have over there! I'm glad he made it home. Unreal, he was able to find him over there it's such a huge area! It felt good to find him before it got too dark. Cheers.

We use a product by Bushnell called a backtracker it's a battery powered disc that you turn on when you leave camp or your car, it turns itself off automatically then when you want to return you switch it back on and it points to your starting point direction and gives you the distance. Very easy to use 👌
Thanks Peter I have heard of those and have mates that use them. We just use trilobite but unfortunately Brendo didn't have it installed yet. He will next time though👌. Cheers.

It's so amazing, each piece very unique and beautiful 😍. Nothing beats camping out in the bush finding gold around the campfire with mates and a few beers🍻. Cheers brother.

Good stuff Lee lucky you found your mate I hope you told him he should carry a walkie talkie and a compass with him next time. Nice pieces of gold found by both and it looks Neal has it over you for bigger nuggets again lol. Stay safe & stay alert keep an eye on the news mate....

You might have heard about the two prospectors over bere in WA who weren't so lucky a few weeks ago. They were only a couple of k's from their camp, but the heat got them unfortunately 😢.
I did, and what a sad story. It's very easy to start doing circles in the bush and become lost. Poor fellas😔.
The outback is so big. Good thing he was not alone. Great team work. That uproot tree signal I thought would be a piece of chainsaw. Great perseverance.with awesome results. I was hoping you would return to where you discovered the 5 ouncer. Good luck.
It is huge and with many dangers, we are glad we found him nice and quickly. The 6000 definitely makes a lot of noise on even the smallest targets. Cheers mate.
I've heard of people useing a helium balloon 🎈 on a string at base camp so you can't get lost. But no good if it's a secret spot.
That could work in certain areas but I think this area is a little hilly and heavily treed. He now has a gps👍

I think Dave found 2 or 3 lost last year in WA. Will be even worse this year with all the rain they have had. Drone would have been good. Good to get some nice gold

Great work mate, on the gold and the rescue. Can't wait to get out onto the fields soon. Done a few beach sessions and did okay so be good to hit the Golden Triangle with the SDC and see how I go.

Thanks, Morgan. We were very happy to be able to find him so quickly. Being stuck in the bush overnight is definitely somewhere you don't want to be lost. The weather is cooling down now and it would have been a cool one! Thanks mate😊

It was a sick trip! Haha, poor Brendo! At least he didn't have to spend the night literally under the stars.. looking forward to it🍻 haha yep the camera was hijacked!

Thanks Tony, I keep giving the others a go but I feel most comfortable with the round coils so I think I'll stick with the 11inch for a while. But run the others over patches etc.
What Coil did you run when you went West Last Year? I am heading to Lenora at the end of April, Early May for a week.

With all that vegetation, why not track him?? Can nobody there follow a track? Of course a drone would have been usefull as well. Glad he found his way out to you.
It's a down grade but could you get a gold monster 1000 to show us how to use & what you can do with a budget gold detector

Can you go in the bush then carry a GPS emergency beacon or a satellite phone.
100% we use an app that works the same as a gps. Unfortunately, Brendo didn't have one with him but he will next time..
Ha, a $12 phone app.

It was a cracker, to be honest I'm not a big fan at the moment. I think it may need to go back it's a little noisy and touch sensitive.. I'm much more of a fan of the round coils. It might go alright in the wide open areas.
