In Pekiti Tersia, we call the first attack a "broken" attack because it hits and uses the force to return to its chamber position for whatever comes next. The second attack we call "fluid", which is based on the idea of follow through. If the target moved out of the way, the strike would continue passed and then chamber in a different position. For instance, if the move was a sideways attack, a horizontal strike from the right side to the opponent's temple, the 'fluid' movement would chamber the strike across the left side of the body and be prepared for some sort of back hand movement, like a back hand strike (commonly referred to as a number 2 strike), a grab, a block or parry, etc. If the sideways strike to the opponent's temple was in a 'broken' attack, the strike would come from the right side and return to the right side, ready to make another line of attack, like a common number 1 strike or something else. These broken and fluid strikes apply to both weapon usage and with open hand, like demonstrated here. Interesting video, looking forward to seeing more!

Only necessary if you want to protect your head from some malicious attacks...
Lol, it´s just a head guard or a general guard. You can find something similar in Keysi.
