Mike is awesome he’s one of few experts from the Pawn Stars who’s opinion I would actually take seriously because he’s got the credentials to back up his position of authority. The fact that he won that Sword judgement contest in Japan as someone who didn’t grow up in Japan is incredible and a testament to his ability. He also comes across as very down to earth here and on TV. Good Man.

That's it. History Channel, give Mike Yamasaki his own History Channel show of a Disney+ show all about Japanese swords and history.

Mike is a great ambassador of Nihonto. Man has never made anything better than Nihonto. Japanese people are best at craftsmanship in the world.

Love this guy but beyond that, I appreciate and learn his shifts from speaking general American english (since he was raised in the US) to speaking in a syntax to one that is Japanese that learned english in order to properly convey his words. Obviously, both languages are very different beyond just the words.

I like Mike but as a person who collects and has made katana blades I hate that he talks about katana cutting machine gun barrels because it's not possible !
