- Hey youtube family, come along with me this week as I get my hair cut, finally finish my diy art piece, and enjoy time with my new neighbors/friends in my building. NYC can feel so big and small at the same time, but that why I love it.

Your stylist did well and you look so nice with the new cut. I understand waiting months for "the" stylist because as a 2C/3A curly girl, it is challenging finding that special one to properly handle my hair as well. You inspire me with the little special things you do.....I would never make a hot dip unless entertaining, but why not? You certainly deserve to take the time to treat yourself special. It's a shame that lampshade doesn't fit in your space. It's so impressively dramatic without being ostentatious! Regardless, your place is now a well-designed and coordinated home that you can enjoy and be very proud of!
Thank you, April! The dip was yummy, but definitely more for a small group. Once I have a craving it's almost impossible to stop me 😅 I'm going to try to make the lamp work in my space, but it's tough since I'm working with limited square footage. I'm definitely enjoying home more though and I'm glad it's mostly "finished."

Yes!! Maybe it was because she finger detangled my hair rather than using a wide toothed brush which I usually do, but she used the peach nutriplenish line from Aveda if you're interested!!
@@kirsten-ashley great to know. I actually use the same products from Aveda and have recently tried Innercense which I’m enjoying a lot. I think I will try fingering my curls instead of using tools!! Thank you 😊

I just thought of something to cover your utility circuit panel. I did this in an apartment once... hang a thin dowel rod, and put a nice cloth panel in a neutral tone to hang over it, even from ceiling to floor length. Or, maybe to scale, given the area right there when you walk in to your entryway. It is weird that in some apartments, those utility circuit panels can be stuck in the oddest places!

Thank you! I've never done the cloth paneling before. I was thinking a large art piece but I'm also kind of getting used the the utility box and don't want to add too many things to the space so I might just leave it haha

That ricotta cheese snack looks really scrumptious, my mouth is watering…how did the strawberry bread taste, it looks really good. Big lamp shades are unique and different I love the look. Thank you! She used the nutriplenish line from Aveda (curl gelee, moisturizing cream, shampoo, and conditioner). They're a bit pricey, but I really want to get them. The strawberry bread was super good, better once refrigerated in fact! Thank you as always for watching 🤗
@@kirsten-ashley thank you, I will try the products. I’ve been using the Mielle hair products but it doesn’t work for me…with hair products it’s trial and error, just can’t find the right fit for my hair.

I personally, liked the first attempt you made the fabric on the canvas, where you said they were too much fabric bunched up together. Thank you! I can see how it might be better suited to some - I just didn't want it to be too busy and detract from the other pieces in the apartment. Glad you enjoyed that little segment!
Hi Kirsten, thanks for sharing all your living alone experiences! About the new lamp issue, what about using the ones you already have on the wall with battery LED lamps?
Thank you! I've thought about it, but battery lights unfortunately don't produce as much light and usually only last up to 10 hours 😓

Most battery operated lights are meant to be used in an emergency and only last for up to 10 hours. I purchased battery operated puck lights a while ago, but they don’t produce as much light as I would like so I haven’t used them.

Your hair came out so good I like the weighed down look looks very refined and no frizz she used good products I have the same texture curly hair. I can never get my hair to look like that hate going to salons because they cut way to much of my hair off everyone's scissor happy I thought my hair wasn't growing for the longest time when I went to salons in reality they were always chopping off my new growth when I was supposed to be getting a trim.
Yes! I've been there too. This stylist really listened when I said I wanted to retain my length. She used the peach nutriplenish line of the Aveda products - pricey but good!!

Hair looks fabulous. Maybe switch the lamps. Put the new one where your current lamp is now. The current lamp shade is smaller and would fit by the couch

Great video. Maybe you could switch the lamps around. Instead of end tables, I used a sofa table behind my couch and placed two lamps on either end.
I love that! I wish my living room wasn't so small so I could do that. But I am thinking maybe the lamp can go next to the sofa on the side nearest the window. We'll see!

Yes, I love CB2!! I used to straighten my hair 100% of the time as a kid until I embraced my natural hair. Now the last time I blow dried it was almost 3 years ago - I just want it to be healthy, but it was longer than it's ever been.

You should use the remote operated light bulbs for the sconces on wall so u can utilize them and have more light which u say u need in the living room
Yes! I have some puck lights but trying to figure out how to hang them since they don't screw into the sconces.
