This scenario, or rather concept, actually exists in the very ending of Donkey Kong Country 3, but despite the random enemies, it was interesting to see that a single screen could be expanded with such creativity!
The fidelity about the sfx is so great they kept the sounds of the DKC 1 game when the kongs enter the barrels. It's really a minor thing, but it shows the attention to detail of whoever are working on this.
This is such a neat idea for a level and I did not know there was a way to create custom Donkey Kong Country levels like this. I look forward to more footage on this.

In SVC Chaos, Athena is one of two secret bosses that can only be unlock if you do a speciffic way before the Final Boss. The second secret boss is Firebrand from Ghosts 'n Goblins.
I know of a similar game that does this same gimmick of combining all three donkey Kong country enemies, items, and even the Kongs in one game. But this looks better. This looks better executed. I can't wait to see this as a full game. The one thing that killed the other project at least for me was the monotony and difficulty scaling of the bosses, the only way you damaged them was with TNT and they mostly ran back and forth. That and the levels were not scaled right making it almost ableist in nature for the late game levels. (The classic games did have difficult levels near the end as well but they were doable if you practice enough, those in the late parts of other game were almost only beatable by sheer luck)

the level is gorgeous, so is the music. The enemies unfortunately don't fit in the theme. Maybe if you add an effect and make them transparent and gostly like we could read them as the dead baddies we faced allong the way? It would be interesting because it would make us question why the're in heaven, or just show that these animals are not bad, just predators. But you would have to add a more complex way to deal with them since, well, they would be souls, so jumping on them would probaly damage the Kongs.
Also, maybe the angel statues could be more anthropomorphic. I know there are humans in the Dk universe (if you consider DK as a part of the super mario universe as it most likely is), but in the context of this game, I guess animal looking angels would fit best.
Thanks for the feedback bro. I'll write down the ideas and pass them on to other members of the team responsible for the enemies, I just make scenarios and put together the level design.
At the risk of sounding negative, the "one" thing that doesn't fit or I dislike about this "DKC 4" fan game, is that you reuse the same sprites for characters, rather than making them slightly different from the original. Maybe higher resolution too. I know is a fan thing, and it's a miracle this even exists. But it kinda don't fit the whole DKC "trilogy" evolution. Starts with Donkey and Diddy. Drops Donkey, enters Dixie. Drops Diddy, enters Kiddy. In this same idea, it should've dropped Dixie and entered maybe Tiny Kong? Well, even if you did that, still leaves the same enemies being used, and from all DKC games, rather than making new enemy designs. Even if they follow the same attack patterns, at least visually they would be new. Now, I'm not saying this because I dislike the game you guys are making, but, like, it's the sense of progress I felt playing DKC games, and I wish a fan game captured this idea someday. Yours is the closest to it, but still, it's different. It's more like a "best moments" of DKC country, rather than a "DKC 4". I really like that you fans put effort and time into making a game for other fans, and well, keep creating what you can. It's good that this fan game exists. Since it started years ago, I keep postponing to play it fully (what is done already), cuz I don't have much time overall. I hope to play it soon. Lastly, nice scenarios you guys made in this level in the video. Really creative.

The project went through many reformulations and at some point the idea would really be to theme the enemies and other things in the game with something new to give it that new aspect, but as I'm only responsible for the scenery part I can't say much about it. respect for this area, but it would be interesting to be able to bring new things like this.
I had a little inspiration from Christian aesthetics, as it is in the clouds and has representations of angel statues, but I didn't want it to be explicit, so I mixed a little bit of every cliché thing that represents heaven. But there is no other reason other than aesthetics, I don't want to involve religion in the game.

You're right, this music is not part of the original DKC4 soundtrack, as I created this level on my own, the composer (Rodrigo Boechat) hadn't created a soundtrack for it so I just added generic music that I found on the internet.

Amazing concept. I think this area can be mixed up with the spikes and brambles from DKC2 or see some banana birds flying from here to there, perhaps.

When you think about it, there really weren't any true sky levels in Donkey Kong Country, unless you count the Golden Temple or Secret Seclusion.

well there's a REASON why this scenario isn't really a thing due to religious reasons (notably Christian) this is quite the bold theme take
