- Will you stand up for the truth at the cost of your own life?
Vishal, a young assistant civil engineer from Mumbai is thrown into a challenging situation
by his boss.
He has to cover up for a horrific accident of labourer that has taken place at their construction
site.
With the victim's future dangling between life and death, Vishal struggles to find his way out
of the crisis, amongst the local police, journalists, doctors, and union leaders. As time passes,
the situation only gets more critical for Vishal as his morals and job responsibilities begin to
go against each other.
Which side will he choose? Will the truth prevail?
Set in ‘Manor’, a small village in Maharashtra, ‘Dafan’ is a powerful coming of age story
about class divide, labour issues, truth, and humanity.

This film is like a valid and necessary document of our country where the labour classes are the worst sufferers though they are the strongest part of every project. ''Your mansions are priced at such a high rate but those who built it don't matter at all''. I wonder if such a line, our rich segment could ever remember this. Wonderful direction, camera work and music. After a long time Neena Kulkarni. I am watching her from her younger days and she has been always very strong in every role she played. Adeeb Rais is a brilliant director no doubt. His Aunty ji with Shabana Azmi deserve special mention. As an actor his cool yet strong presence in this film is really very convincing. All other actors are true to their roles. Fantastic film no doubt.

This is the harsh reality. When I was child there was multi-storey building construction near my building ( government ) where bunch of contractors were doing the job with help of tons of labourers with no gear working on 7-8 floor. One guy fell died instantly because of head injury. Next we have labourers wear helmet a few days and then again back to no gear after his death cooled down.

I was living in a 9 storey apartment and one person fell off while removing the bee hive because the harness broke. He died immediately. The agency which had hired him gave some compensation to the family but of course it could have been avoided.

first of all thank you for showing police in good light. not every cop is corrupt. there are good ones too. 2nd excellent video as always. no one cares about the injured worker. so true. few years ago there was a complex that was being built 2 towers were done in which the residents were staying while the next 2 were being constructed. there was a similar mishap where the worker fell to his death.no one knew his name or his background.now comes the pathetic part. residents contributed and performed a puja so that the dead worker's spirit doesn't haunt the complex. no one cared about a life being lost or what will happen to his family .i dont know how much or if he was compensated. but even if its builder's fault a lot of time people are silenced. in reality may be the assistant engineer who decides to stick to the truth would never be able to as the big shots can cause an "accident " to him as well. excellent video. plus the whole matter is usually managed at a very nominal amount.harsh reality very nicely potrayed.

Great Film...😎 But most of the things in the film won't practically apply in reality in India... Firstly - No one gives a shit to an intern, Secondly - People shown as non corruptable is a rare thing, Thirdly - In a so populated country, Opinion of an employee can never matter, You will be fired and a fake case will be filed against you to harass you, Someone will replace you and do what company wants...Money is always the King...
