Playing an instrument may be an old idea, but is still very much a part of music that touches peoples hearts ...
Korg, please consider making a desktop module version of the OpSix Perhaps you could do a kickstarter (or something similar) so you could gauge demand and collect preorders.
It needs to be a desktop module that's 19" rack compatible. Eg. their Minilogue XD module fails to do this for seemingly no reason.. the perfect module works in racks & works on the desktop :)

Weird really.. Modal are a tiny UK company but do small keyboard + big keyboard (both with Fatar keybeds) and rack compatible desktop module. Wake up Korg, we love you.. please help us buy your stuff :)
Awesome update! It's really hard not to like those pads! I like the order in patches; those more 'in daily life usable' patches are very well placed first, arp weirdness and such at the end.
I have zero experience with this kinda thing and I don't even play piano. But man, I wanna goof around with something like this. I liked everything this dude was playing.
Just purchased and already in love with this synth after a day of tinkering. Sounds great , super versatile and the layout / flow makes sense on a basic level. It's also so much fun. I need more time to explore the in-depth bits, which I'm super excited about. Well done Korg!

With all that polyphony, I would kill for a firmware update making it even bitimbral so I could stack two patches. I recently did a recording where I multi-tracked an FM bass patch and an analog-style 6 oscillator square bass and whoop boy I could feel the air from my subwoofer.
Lol. Best synth ever made is quite the hyperbole. It's not even in the top 50. Hydrasynth and otherwise are a better attempt at the modern but the next gen from Korg - with a better build a decent octave/keybed are where the business is going to be. Toy boards like these are a tech test, more than much else.
FM and its user interface re-invented! And as always, nice demo Luke. There's only one thing to make the opsix an absolute winner for me: Make it an 8 operator version and add the step / frame sequencer, to sort of obtain a fs1r, but than with the op8 interface and a 49 or larger keyboard ...

Would be great to see a minilogue XD update. Fast LFOs, sequencer modes, more LFOs, improved arp, more shift knob functions (a way to hold the shift knob function so I don't need three hands), efx indicator (you have to cycle through all the efx to see what current efx are set at), more user slots, longer reverb time, seeing patch names when saving so you know what you are saving to. Etc
THAT LAST ONE...I hate when I'm making a patch from scratch but can't remember what slots are free. You can only really see that if you're using the sound librarian, and I like to leave the computer behind a lot of the time. An asterisk by the patch number (as is used to indicate parameter settings) alone would impart enough information to know.
I doubt this is possible but my one other gripe with the xd apart from the 16 step sequencer (if korg hasn't listened to us yet they never will) is that there are only three lfo shapes and three destinations. I got a little spoiled by the mod matrix on the artiria microfreak

Please Korg update Minilogue XD: BPM delay midi sync fix, more sequencer modes(reverse, random), more shift+ options for shortcuts (shift+tempo=lower values), toggle shift (so you don’t need to hold down shift to use it), an additional lfo, more manual arp note memory, EFX current value indicator (easy fix: so we don’t have to toggle through all the efx to see what efx type is being used, first toggle shows current efx) 🤞🤞🤞

Op means 'module version'. Minilogue XD comes in normal and module version. XD stands for updated, more powerful, fx, (sadly also some removed features)

2.0 CRASHES ... please guys, a lot of users a complaining about the crashes with previous patches and also when using the gear. I had 5 crashes in 1 hour. There is no support as well. Got 5 of your synths, love them. But please beta test the patches.
@@biggrime Yes, i love the synth. It is an army swiss knife, don't get me wrong. The problem is editing some properties and playing midi at the same time ...if you stop receiving midi from the DAW for example, then edit what you want then it doesn't crash.....

@illiad Authorized dealers in the U.S. offered the opsix at half price ($330) in Summer 2022 and none of them even list it now. Interestingly, current (Nov '22) prices for used examples are wildly inconsistent. Currently, Guitar Center has one at US$450 and one at $750, both described as in 'Great' condition. And Reverb has listings from $420 to $1,165. Typical Reverb. But, Anderton's and thomann still list new stock. Maybe we Yanks didn't show it enough love, so Korg decided to yank it from our market?
How do you guys use the updater? I've tried everything and my computer is not recognizing my OPSIX at all. New cables, different ports, still absolutely nothing.

Few in this form do, for the price/quality issue. Hydra being a new exception to the rule, going small and cheap without too much of a loss overall for the user.
Slow it down by 75% and you've got 64 steps. Most of the preset sequences operate this way and BLOW the roof off. Especially those preset sequences by Matt Pike. (kudos to Matt. I love your work). This Opsix is brilliant. My Nemesis delay loves it. Frees up my Nightsky too, because the onboard Reverb is impressive. If they bring out a module, I'll buy that too and add it as another audio input.
I was lucky to buy the one from the Korg Reverb store. My Opsix will be delivered next Wednesday (08/10/22). I already have an empty keyboard stand setup awaiting its arrival 😀
Just a question. Can you play wavestate and opsix at the same time like opsix has epiano and wavestate has pad layer. Can it be played same time using midi out to midi in? I mean playing one keybed then triggering both synth to sound together ?
How you connect hardware to comp, which driver and system comp using , because many people have problem to do this , problem is global because Korg dont give dedicated driver to Opsix, Wavestation and Moodwawe
I have a Cobalt 8 and an Opsix, and I would recommend the Opsix any day, except the Cobalt keyboard is nicer mostly , I use it for the Opsix. I think the Opsix has vastly more potential, especially after this update
Most of the time sound (net) output doesn't vary much. You'll have a cleaner and higher fidelity (some find this lack of grit more clinical sterile) but overall - you can cover 90% or more of the sonic territory. Flagships are named thus for a reason (and they last well). This is more about accessibility and improving what already exists. Especially on OPs which is praised for its welcoming design and layout. It's no Modx or more powerful board (internally its a tiny raspberry pi) but it's perfectly up to task and showcases some new steps forward in making things approachable. If you have a fleet flagship - just wait for the next.
You need to download the updater and the sound librarian, and the "v2.0 sound data" to fully update. The updater just updates the firmware, the new presets need to be installed with the librarian. The 2.0 presets take up the first 350 preset slots. So, if you have user presets saved in slots 251-350, you'll want to move them before installing the new presets, or move the new presets to different slots. (info from Reddit)

In fact, almost 6 years have passed since the Korg Pa4x's release, and this curiosity has increased. So where is this Pa5x or whatever it's called?
Really great update! For the next update, I hope you would consider adding a "Performance mode" where you can freely assign the data entry knobs on the home screen. The default Home menu has some useful parameters, but also the useless and potentially very dangerous Algorithm parameter (I wish you could lock that one, when screwing around with user algorithms, accidentally changing that knob can blow your eardrums. Learned that the hard way...).
Still can't believe I scored one for $329 on that fire sale. And I could care less about the bed. I have my MatrixBrute and Hydrasynth keyboards to use on this if I need.
For the love of god, Korg, release some modules! These digital machines look great but not everyone wants keys, far less full-size keys at that. Why did Korg modules end with the Minilogue? This is particularly baffling given the Opsix keybed doesn't support after touch, even though the synth recognises it over MIDI. So I've got no choice but to buy an Opsix with keys, but if I want to use after touch I've got to use yet another keyboard!
Tempted to buy one and hack saw off the keyboard. I've already got a Wavestate and its got the worst key feel ever. I play it from my Kronos, which is heaven!
Nothing wrong with the wavestate / opsix keyboard beds at all. Except for some people in that they are not true piano keyboards. Well if you want to play a synth, any true synth, don't use a piano keyboard but extend your expertise to a synth keyboard. Did you ever play a hammond organ through a piano keyboard? It's possible but unnaturaly. Yuck!
Make it a module version and I'll buy it, having purchased the wavestate, I won't knowingly buy another garbage keybed. ps I bought the minilogue xd module, same reason. Who's kid is running the keybed dept, they need a talking to. psps this also applies to the modwave...

The default Home menu has some useful parameters, but also the useless and potentially very dangerous Algorithm parameter (I wish you could lock that one, when screwing around with user algorithms, accidentally changing that knob can blow your eardrums. Learned that the hard way...).
How to upload these presets? Made that update but have no presets, cannot find them on your site as well.

For the love of god, Korg, release some modules! These digital machines look great but not everyone wants keys, far less full-size keys at that. Why did Korg modules end with the Minilogue? This is particularly baffling given the Opsix keybed doesn't support after touch, even though the synth recognises it over MIDI. So I've got no choice but to buy an Opsix with keys, but if I want to use after touch I've got to use yet another keyboard!
Please make a rack version
I've got enough hardware, so I was really pleased to see Opsix come out as a VST.

Tempted to buy one and hack saw off the keyboard. I've already got a Wavestate and its got the worst key feel ever. I play it from my Kronos, which is heaven!
Nothing wrong with the wavestate / opsix keyboard beds at all. Except for some people in that they are not true piano keyboards. Well if you want to play a synth, any true synth, don't use a piano keyboard but extend your expertise to a synth keyboard.
Did you ever play a hammond organ through a piano keyboard? It's possible but unnaturaly. Yuck!

Make it a module version and I'll buy it, having purchased the wavestate, I won't knowingly buy another garbage keybed.

That synth is old news now. Great synth but korg as moved on
Even Prologue is discontinued now. You'll be needing to look to new releases that come ahead.
