Hey John, i noticed you like spiderwire braid, why do you chose it over other braided lines? Do you ever get any wind knots when fishing very windy conditions?
Could you please speak about what type of wader/ boot/ jacket combo you use and why, either here, or in a video. I need to gear up and it seems like such a commitment to go withboots or without when you consider the cost of a good set of waders. Thanks in advance, an keep up with the informative videos!
Hey John, the Staten Island bite was kind of weak this fall, can't find the structure like and bars. Alot of rocks tho. The water is mainly calm and shallow around here and no sand eels around. Any thoughts on what plug I should use more often? Thanks.
Pencils, especially the Tsunami 6-inch Talkin Popper. Bombers and Daiwa Salt Pros. Of course bucktails should always be in the bag, and probably 3/4-ounce range in calm shallow water.
This is definitely something I want to try in the uk for our little bass.. I don't know of anyone using bucktails here.. I'm not even sure I can buy them from a uk dealer? Thanks for the film John .
Excellent action yet again! I dont think someone could get bored of fishing your waters... Whats the winter lure fishing like? Any viable alternative species etc?
My GF's family lives on Long Island. If I have to go meet here parents when would be the best time to catch fish this spring?? I know they hit MD beaches around May. So Im guessing it would be several weeks after that??
+Anthony Sanchez because they are proven, tough reels that aren't prohibitively expensive. The 706Z he is using here that he is using is a model generations have used. I have had mine for 25 years. Take good care of it and it just keeps performing.
Hey John, I am hearing that sand eels are the dominate bait fish right now; is it true? If so, how do you choose between tsunami sand eels and the super "n" fish?
just picked up a 9' star rod (med to heavy action) for this type of beach application i was wondering if you had any suggestions a reel. Under 250 price range?
Thanks for all the content recently. I know it's not easy to crank out videos every week.
This guy has bucktailing down to a science. I've only ever caught one fish on a bucktail.
Awesome as usual, got your book new book on the Christmas list. Happy holidays.

Late may early June is good.
Would you even bother to fish this nor'easter that's coming our way? Or is this season pretty much done?
I'm not fishing it.

Between those two lures I'm more likely to use the plug at night and the sand eel in the daylight.
Ay great video. Do you have any videos on reels and rods, what you like and you dont like?

Is it still worth it to go bucktailing at smithpoint beach
It's pretty late. Smalls maybe.
Where do u get your lami blanks
Almost any shop that sells custom rods will sell blanks. The lami blanks I use are very common and should be easy to get.
What's the biggest striper you've ever caught out of the surf of long island?
+Kern Kern my guess would be the one on his book
Is this a recent trip?
No. Things are pretty much done.
