  • My 2013 Chevy Express was throwing a couple codes that indicated that it was running rich.
During diagnostic testing, I noticed that the MAP sensor was malfunctioning. I couldn't find a video that showed me exactly where it was or how to replace it, so I made one.
In addition to the MAP sensor, my fuel composition was showing that it was high in alcohol (ethanol), but I had only been running 87 octane unleaded (less that 10% ethanol). I took it to a local shop and the mechanic didn't even charge me to reset the fuel composition.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Thanks for watching!

Why didn’t you remove the dog house and go in from the back?

Bro my compass is out on the same van. Unfortunately it controls the AC. Any suggestions?

You keep saying you reset your fuel composition ratio but how did you do it?
I replaced the MAP and the MAF and a fuel pump and it is still running extremely rich

I took it to a local shop that had a Snap-On computer. Took him about 2 minutes and he didn’t charge me for it. It was an easy thing for him to do. Because it’s flex fuel the alcohol/fuel ratio changes when changing between E85 and regular unleaded. Once it was reset, it ran the way it was supposed to. Drove it across the country and back over the summer and still no issues.

@@JoeFloCreates thank you so much! This is the only video I found even telling me where the map was even located. You're a big help!

i have the same van. i went on a trip and when i started it it sounded like a lawn mower. i thought it was the battery bc i only use the van for long trips and the battery has died on me a couple of times.. My question for you, its been 6 months since you did this repair is it working good?

Yes. After changing the MAP sensor and having the fuel alcohol ratio reset, I have had no problems with the way it runs. I’ve taken it across the country (CA - NJ) and the only other issue I had is one broken motor Mount from towing my trailer. I’m going to do the plugs soon too. Not because of an issue, but because I’m getting close to 150k miles.

@@JoeFloCreates i too towed my trailer once but it was from Or to AZ . i haven't noticed any shaking or noise. is there vid on how you did the motor mount? if you can post the plugs that'd be nice since i am too getting close to the 120k

@@chevyvantravel9735 I’ll post the mount vid this week. I started thinking I needed both, then a mechanic told me it’s common to break just the driver’s side if towing a lot. He was right. My passenger side was still good.
