To me zoas are the hardest corals to grow! I lost over 3k in high ends 2 x's! I overbought so had to buy a lot of acrylic racks and they filled up with something like diatoms maybe. The small polyp counts always die first. Anyway whatever it is growing on the racks only bothers the zoas and coraline grew in one tank and now all is good but cant get it to grow in my 5 year old tank! Why would that be? My other tank almost has whole back wall filled with it and treat both the same way!
Hi, how do you use interceptor and chemiclean? Do you do it in a tank or in separate container? What are the dosages you find effective! You said one pill but , on what volume of water? Tia
I had problems with my zoas refusing to open, then I used fluconazole (which is a fungicide) for getting rid of bryopsis, and within 2 days the zoas opened up beautifully. Maybe they had pox or something but it was cool and totally by accident.
I'm switching to over to mainly SPS. Been looking around and have seen your website a few times in the last 2 days. One Coral I'd really like is the Orange Passion Acro but unfortunately you do not sell it. I was able to find one site that had a few frags and I have to get one. Do you have any experience with that particular coral or would you consider adding it to your collection? I don't want to mention a competitor's website in your comment section but I almost paid 250 for a frag last night because it looked perfect to me. Dear Santa....... Would you recommend buying smaller acro frags or larger colonies? The goal is an all SPS reef with high/er end corals I could frag and use to get more nice corals.
I bought some zoanthids one frag of about 7 polyps. They we’re fine about two days after I added them to the tank after a dip and quarantine. Open and fine. Then I feed them and had a very small ammonia increase in the tank that was solved with 20% water change. I feed them with reef roids. And they have been closed since, only one polyp partially open. They are also stretching for light so I move them out of the sand bed to a rock a little higher in a low flow area. But they won’t open. I quartined them before and gave them a dip before I added to the tank and we’re fine no pest. I’m just confused on what’s happening. They are in a nano tank. Ten gallon.
What are Zoas supposed to look like first thing in the mornings when the lights are off. It’s my first time with a coral and they look ok in the day with lights on, they just don’t look too healthy first thing in the morning just before I turn the lights on.
@@KushCorals yes I thought they would close at night. but first thing in the morning before I turn the light on, they look very droopy and limp. Not sure if they are ment to be that droopy. Thought they would still kinda be upright and bunched together with closed heads. Mine are closed and droopy till the light comes on, then they perk up and bunch together more
@@KushCorals I am just moving zoas to a new frag tank and they wont open! I am freaking! I made this frag tank for zoas and I have a lot of new corals coming in I want to make room for! Do they not like my water because it to new and clean? Should I dirty it up? I have phosphates in a bottle for got the name! Can do xtra feeding for nitrates!
5 tips and tricks and 4 are related to the same which is dipping, cleaning to clean of pest. Big waste of time. Should be called zoa 2 basic tips. The tshirt is the best part of the video
Palys or palyathoa. Not sure I spelled it right but basically zoas but tend to have bigger polyps like sunnys d ect. I like them better! Funny how some of the most colorful zoas are so tiny like awesome blossom and rastas ect
Lmfao finally the
Weed/reefkeeping collab channel I wanted
Thanks Bobby. I learn a lot from you guys.

BOTH IN TANK BUT CANT HAVE SHRIMP OR INVERTS FOR THE INTERCEPTOR. 1 PILL OF INTERCEPTOR TREATS 350 GALLONS
@@KushCorals Thanks!
@@KushCorals Will it not hurt other corals/fish? Are crabs and snail inverts? Also how long and do a waterchange after and how big of one?

THATS ZOAS IN A NUTSHELL!!! THEY ARE AWESOME AND THEY SUCK!
Had a similar problem and found zoa eating nudibranchs up in there. Removed as many as possible by hand and got a coris wrasse for extra pest control
I would like to know if zoanthus consum lots of calcium, kh and magnesium?
I ask this to begin thinking about the maintenance.
Mentosse the answer to this is no. But as u stabilize ur water Coraline will grow like crazy and consume these parameters.
Broo!! The video is insane!! Love it! 💪🌊🌊 thank you for the tips Bobby

ALL CORALS HAVE A CELL IN SIDE THEM THAT EXPANDS DURING DAY LIGHT. THIS IS WHY THEY ARE CLOSED IN THE NIGHT AND AM

Any tips for zoas that open but not growing?
If they are healthy but not growing increase nutrients.

mine always just melt away :(
muffemod You need to very good Lightning AND please check for parasites. Also YOU need a decent flow.
Low pH or poor gas Exchange typically causes melting.
