Good afternoon from Texas Mr. And Mrs Reef Dork! I’m very new to the reefing community (tank doesn’t even have water yet =(...). However, I’ve been researching for weeks and I find you to be the most entertaining and informative reefer on UA-cam sir. At least without sitting down to watch an hour long BRS video. Keep up the great work my friend!
Welcome to the hobby. There are a lot of people on youtube giving advice on reefing, try and pick one and stick with just listening to them. That being said the Reef Dork is deffiently a person who all reefers should try and emulate and follow. He has one of the best tanks on all of youtube and great advice. If you stick to Reef Dork, Coral Eurphoria and BRS you cant go wrong.
@@jarredlkling thanks! That is great advice for sure. BRS and Tidal Gardens have been my go to channels for more in depth coverage. I do love this channel because it feels very friendly and less retail oriented. I will have to check out coral euphoria as well some time, thanks again!
I have the utter chaos zoa...I got one head from the lfs for 20 quid about 2 months ago and there is now about 7 or 8,I can vouch they look amazing and have alot of subtle colours too like pink and indigo.
I wish it was like that for us in the USA for utter chaos. A single polyp for $60 is considered a “good price” or I’m just being ripped off by everyone lol.
Rastas are my only zoa in my tank. Others I like are jokers and gaterade. I never came across a fruit loop. I'll keep my eye out. I'm not a zoa guy but I love the rastas.
Get more than one head. I noticed when I get one head it takes longer to grow and has more of a chance to melt away after being annoyed for a couple days, which zoas typically do. 3-4+ heads usually works best for me.
Also check your nitrate levels. If it’s very low that could be why, my zoas look best right around the time my filter needs maintenance. They like “dirty” water.
I'm a freshwater guy looking at Reef tanks. I have a 30l optiwhite tank I could use, and I'm thinking of doing a invert only reef tank to begin with. I know bigger is better but I live in London, so space is at a premium. Anyone got any video recommendations for me to watch?
@@ReefDork They're a type of jelly fish that come in from frags, etc. Nothing really eats them, they can string you and corals. They can proliferate under high feeding conditions, especially broadcast feeding. I've stopped feeding reef roids and red sea AB+ (only feeding pellets to the big mouth lps) until they go away. They seem to be subsiding. They love zoa's and can harm them, but some seem to acclimate to the sting. You can pluck them, or use a kalk paste on them. I hear a lot of people don't really do anything about them, and they'll run its course and die out anyway. Really hate them. IMO they make aiptasia look as harmless as Green hair Algae.
i want only 1 zoa in my tank. any recommendations similar to utter chaos i want it as florescent as possible without costing more then a used reef tank hehe i've seen some costing 200+ :D

One of my favourites is Victoria’s Secret was pricey but colours are awesome.
Love to see you make a video on the best online coral retailers
As always, love your videos. Have you considered doing a similar video about reasonably priced Acropora?
Can not wait to get my first coral, thanks again for videos Alex 👍👍
Cheers for leading me to this shop
Gobstopper Zoas
My favorite zoa is the armor of God
100% agree with all except AAV... I just find them way too invasive. Great list though
Nice Collection Sir....!

so funny that Utter Chaos used to sell for $90pp just a couple years ago.
Fairy dust pally / zoa is my favourite
Lots of great food for thought

Excellent spot! Never had them before so can't help i'm afraid.
