That Almera interior is nice. The only thing I wish the US version (Versa) got was those nice leather looking seats with the fold down armrest in the back. And you guys would have probably liked the 122Hp (90kw/123ps) version 1.6 engine we have here. Our version here in the US does have android auto.
I watched Careta's video of the Almera the other day, and they said there is Android Auto, so I searched the other day and it says u can get Android Auto by downloading an APK or something to unlock it in the head unit. Kinda weird la.
Even if it's not yet official, they should make it included in the head unit because the Android Auto apk for phone can be downloaded externally unlike iPhone, should works like other cars that have it.
The real reason after talking to people in TC HQ is that it's because the head unit comes directly from Japan, which is the same one used in Thailand thus they do not have the authority to change the head unit's firmware/software

Hi Adrian, thanks for the official reviewed. Ultimately, I personally think that you have done a specific review on the Nisaan Almera turbo. What you have mentioned, that this car is fully & well equipped with safety factors like the autonomous braking throughout all the variants. I'm convinced & surprised by the Edaran Tan Chong's team for designing & equipped the safety factors to be top in the list among it's rivals. Definitely, this features will be the top selling point for the newly launched Nissan Almera 1.0 L turbo. Well, let's not to be too long winded, Adrian you have manifested in this review that you are fit to be the wapcar reviewer. Then.... I'm not surprised that you have carried your responsibilities & duties throughout the whole car reviewed by you. Thumbs 🆙 Adrian, well done 😆😇💯💯
This Almera is miles ahead in the styling compare to previous bubble style. Interior is nice too. Any news on the new Sentra? Heard Thailand side already ceased production for it. The new Sentra is another wonderfully improved product from Nissan. Finally. This is a very detail review. Thank you for it. A job well done.
Thanks! Nope, Nissan won't be introducing the Sentra/Sylphy anytime soon because they're focused on SUVs and MPVs in the ASEAN region. The Kicks is more likely to come to Malaysia
Great review Adrian. Interesting to hear your thoughts on the 1.0 litre engine and auto box. We have both here in the Micra. Seems to be a good fit for a city car. :-)
Nice review and i'm also waiting for my new almera (orange colour!) Sad to see that Nissan Versa got both android auto and apple car play, while the asia region only got apple car play only.
Good review that you included fuel consumption as not many of the big boys just talk good about cars just like they are being paid to do so. Most of them not bother to talk about fuel consumption.
I think they should be including Android auto because most people in ASEAN region use Android smartphone and they can implant a global version in their other vehicles why can't they do it with this one. Also many GRAB driver would consider Android auto as a big bonus and this would help them sold many Almera.
Waiting for the sylphy replacement, a turbo engine maybe. Civic - too low seating postion (Bad QC I guess) Altis - too expensive for the car that fitted with the old engine (not enough power) Mazda 3 - really expensive
Nissan launched the c segment All new Nissan Sentra in Taiwan...and holy molly, the design of interior and exterior is way ahead of other Japanese cars...perfect blend of euro and Japanese design. sadly Malaysia is not taking any of this model...yet. Even decided to take, it will be named Sylphy.
SEA market they only want to focus on small compact cars... C & D segments will probably be discontinued. Unless if it's a MPV, or some kind of crossover/SUV
Only top variant like the one in the video have lead headlights. If you choose lower two variants then you’ll get halogen headlights so no fancy Led DRL
I like the new Almera more than City. Nissan just nailed the cockpit design. PSB placement is great, next to gear stick not behind steering wheel. But would it be great if there’s an a/c blower at the back and an additional back pocket.
Adrian, I noticed your sitting position is quite close to the steering wheel. In my case when I stretch my hand straight, my fingers is rest just nicely at the top of the steering wheel. Is my sitting position correct?
Its a very nice looking car with simple but good interior (specially the dashboard). For a B-segment car with this pricing, nothing much to complain unless nitpicking.
Surprisingly not having Android Auto hits me harder than I thought it would, when I think I might spend the next 5-10 years annoyed by that, actually makes me hesitate, even when the logical side of me says it's a just small thing. 😅
Just found out from Nissan salesperson that oil change is every 7000km / 6 months whichever first. 7k km oil change to protect turbo engine. So basically, more frequent visits to the service centre. I would prefer a normal engine with 10k km service intervals because I'm a daily driver. Think about it guys.
Go and buy your normal engine car that u can really afford, axia, bezza, myvi. No need to comment in Almera review, unless u're some desperate toyota salesmen

Not sure if I'm asking a silly question. But why this nissan almera n18 ETCM does not have the auto lock features after drive for certain km/h? Need to manually click the button on the driver seat instead. Same as the power foldable side mirror. Shouldn't it be a standard now for the highest specs?

Not necessarily beyond 100km/h. I test drove it till 175km/h, and it’s screaming but understandable because of the small capacity engine. A friend of mine managed to get till 193km/h if top speed anything any of you have concern with

How much can the headrests adjust for the driver and passenger seats?, I have the previous nissan almera and my only real complaint is that the headrest doesn't go up enough, to me its 2 notches to little, okay I am 1.85m tall so I get that most cars won't suit my height.
