  • What if the Afterlife crew needed to make new Gizmos, I'm thinking the devices would look something like the one here. The design, build, and kludging of ideas was a lot of fun as I channeled my inner Spengler. This is the 7th video of my Ghostbusters costume/cosplay series.
Here are the materials used in this build:
Phone from Habitat for Humanity ReStore: www.habitat.org/restores
LED 4 Color Christmas Lights: amzn.to/3LyDax7
Aluminum C Channel, two ~5.5in long pieces: amzn.to/46sunVD
    1cm Square Dowel two 1.75in long: amzn.to/3RBsZvs
Black Heat Shrink Tubing, 1/2in+ assorted: amzn.to/3LBiwMC
    #6 screws 3/4 inch long: amzn.to/45defq0
1/2in OD Clear Vinyl Tubing: amzn.to/44Zyg3b
    Black shoe dye: amzn.to/3ZwCq15
    Black duct tape: amzn.to/46iER9G
    Glue gun: amzn.to/48lMKxb
All the materials above are great to have on hand for all sorts of reasons.

The way I see it, each Ghostbuster cosplayer club is a “franchise” of the movie ghostbusters and each franchisees equipment will range in design and functionality for that group’s appearance. One franchise might create a unique gadget for their story telling while another group states away creates an experimental “photon”pack.
Great build series! I can’t wait to see more!

@@MakeItorBreakItNow Thanks! What I was getting at is that it’s okay to not be 100% accurate. It’s all about having fun!

that's what I like about the Ghost busters stuff, it doesn't have to be screen accurate. Great community! also most if not all are very encouraging.

I think you don’t have to have them look exactly the same when they look as good as your build. You could easily believe they would use that in a future movie. Great work - I’ve really enjoyed your Ghostbuster’s series. 👏

Thanks, the series has been fun to put together, will likely add more videos in February as Frozen Empire approaches...

Thank you for the imagination and sharing. I agree with the philosophy of building something that approximates the look rather than slavishly trying to be screen accurate. I’d thought my uniform was finished until I saw this………..

Mike, take your Ghostbusting as far as you want. I'm think about how I'm going to do the coat in Frozen Empire, I'm certainly not going to spend $1300 for it...

Great job! I’m attempting your build as we speak. One question, how did you attach the fairy lights/aluminum C channel to the circuit board?

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  5 місяців тому

I thought I showed that, the fairy lights were mostly black duct tape on the back, but they are just friction fit between the two C-channels and the vinyl tubing. The aluminum C channels are screwed into the circuit board. Hope that helps, looking forward to wearing mine soon when Frozen Empire comes out.

Not at this time, but maybe someday. But the price I'd have to charge would be 10 times the cost of you making one yourself.
