There was a donkey in Iraq during the war that the Marines adopted, they named him Smokey because he would steal their cigarettes. After they were pulled out a Marine officer that took care of Smokey in Iraq went through great lengths to have Smokey brought here to the US. Smokey became a therapy animal for children, injured veterans, etc. If given the opportunity, all of Hashem's creations have a purpose, sometimes you just have to look beyond the labels.
