  • How good is this for the first trip and first fish for the year!! In this episode we stumbled across a new lump which paid off big time, I run through how we found the spot and setting up the drift, sounder footage showing what I look for and if you watch closely there’s a lot of technique on how to work different jigs to catch solid trout in close.
    Enjoy ✌🏻

      Haha nah man I always put all, or mostly all the fish in the video to show a true representation of the day. I also learn alot from watching myself fish while editing so I got double the experience. I do feel sorry for the boys sometimes but then other days they school me, and I’ll even post that too! It’s too hard to make weekly videos let alone not use good content.. I could make epic banter videos with no fish but I’m not sure they’d be for everyone

    what did you mean by we'd hear the zippy'ness of the 4 strand but it makes your day easier? Wondering if its better than 8 strand somehow

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  6 місяців тому

      The 4 strand braid is coarser and cuts through the current better kinda like a serrated blade, whereas an 8 strand is smooth and slick and is held by the current a lot easier causing a belly in the line and less feel. 4 strand also has a lot better abrasion resistance as it has 4 strands which are twice as thick as an 8 strand for the same PE rating/diameter braid. 👌🏻

    Great fishing mate. Just a question about using jigs. Is getting snagged while drifting a problem? Any tips on how to avoid getting snagged? Really appreciate any info.

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Рік тому +3

      Thanks mate, as with any kind of drift fishing getting snagged can be a problem. The key to avoiding a lot of snags is to really pay attention to where your jig is and being sure to not let it drag on the bottom. I use multi colored line which helps me to know where my lure is in the water column and the thinner braid and leader combo I run also eliminates a lot of the belly in my line giving me better feel and allowing me to not let my jig drag on the bottom and into snags…

      Watch closely bro, I talk about finding a new spot and how I approach it, I explain where to find them on that structure, I explain the faster lure presentation, I talk about sounder interpretation, the gear used…
      As with all aspects of lure fishing, you need to pay attention to the details… Without videos like this on UA-cam you’d have to do a shitload of experimenting with alot of unsuccessful trips to get that much of a head start. Anyway I hope you could at least take something from this video ✌🏻
