    In my opinion the X570 is worth every penny. It’s a high quality machine. When I bought mine I was as also considering a Simplicity Broadmoor. I went with JD because of having a larger dealer network and I felt the JD was a better machine. I believe the people that are saying JD is trash are referring to a price point. They refer to entry level JDs. Just like the JDs and other brands that you see in the big box stores. They aren’t really tractors, they are essentially riding mowers. They are designed to mow small flat yards just like all the other tractors in that price point. I had one under the Scotts brand label. That Scotts 1642 tractor with an unserviceable transmission lasted over 20 years and was still running strong when I sold it to buy the X570. Several of my friends had the same 1642 tractor and none of us had any problems with them. They are not garbage, they do what they are designed to do. If you have hills on your property don’t get one. This X570 is a beast. It’s got a heavy duty frame, a heavy duty transmission and a nice twin motor. Only weakness I see is the steering gear instead of a steering box. Mine climbs up hills like a mountain goat. Having a locking differential is awesome. The only issue I had with JD was I wish I could have had some of the features on the X570 on one of their smaller tractors. I really didn’t need the size so much as the features. If they had made a X380 w a 42” deck and locking differential I would have bought that. That being said I don’t regret buying a larger tractor than I needed for one second. I love it.

    Visited my local JD dealer yesterday. Drove a 570 and a 390. My 2020 Simplicity Broadmoor and it's silly little 'stub' of a deck-lift lever is turning into a recipe for disaster for my surgically repaired shoulders and hands. Only have an acre to mow with one short but steep hill. The 570 is probably overkill for my uses, I'll probably go with the 390, great review!

    You can change the transaxle oil on the X570 but it does not have a replaceable filter. Only the models with power steering and hydraulic deck lift have the replaceable paper filter. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The X570 is a closed system with very little chance for dirt to get introduced into the system. The power steering/power lift models have external hydraulic cylinders and valves which over time can introduce dirt so they have the replaceable paper filter.

    Question.....my neighbor just bought a x570 with a 54" deck and I got a s240 with a 48". We'd rather have each other's deck. Are they interchangeable? Both deep decks. When I bought my s240 the 54 wasn't available.

Much appreciate yur mention of which (of several) TuffTorque Transaxels that come with this machine vs. the other S & X series with (smaller) TffTrq units. Also scanning your Home/Video director, yur organization handles JD Ag equipment, large 🚜 tractors & many other useful implements for all sorts of farming or construction industry needs. Let me tell you something . I had bought a John Deere z 530 r from my local dealer . They delivered the mower and said here you go. The truck driver was a contractor. No one explained how to use the mower. I asked the driver about stuff and he had no idea .I guess when you buy stuff online your not a true customer. I hope other John Deere dealerships do better . One guy at the dealership even told me they don’t like it when you buy online . Now I understand what he was talking about

    The marketing discussion around stamped vs fabricated decks is interesting. The tooling to stamp steel parts as large as a mower deck and the presses required to run that tooling and the infrastructure to support those presses are all very expensive. You have to sell a lot of mowers to recoup those costs. Fabricated decks were marketed as being tougher, which they might be, but more likely it was a financial decision by a manufacturer who either couldn't justify the investment or didn't have the capability of stamping decks. Now that a lot of folks have been sold on fabricated decks being stronger, JD talks about how stamped decks allow better air flow and will have less rust due to not having welds. In the end who knows which is better, fabricated or stamped, it is all just driven by financial decisions by the manufacturers.

    • @FishFind3000
      @FishFind3000 2 роки тому +2

      I read somewhere that Deere has a 4 million ton press for stamping decks. Pretty sure most people can’t just go out and buy one of those.

    Good review. I currently have a gx345. I didn't know that the deck on the x570 was manual lift. I think if I wanted the 500 series id put out the extra cash and get the x590 for the hydraulics and fuel injection. I know it makes it simple also but would be nice to have liquid cooling without jumping to the 700 series but im guessing its a price and marketing difference that John Deere is doing.

    • @WesternEquipment
      @WesternEquipment  Рік тому

      The X590 have issues with the deck lift arm bolts wearing through its carriage mounts. Havent heard anything about a fix for it, howevere we have been adding a thick washer to the allen head bolt to keep the hangers in their place. All the plow scraper bars and shoes, john deer may have went with a cheaper steel, been seeing the plows wearing out more rapidly than the x570 or the 500 series. The quality with the x590's isnt really all there like the predessosrs

    Very well-done walk-through video on the X570. I bought one back in 2017 and I love the horsepower. It mows very well. As far as build quality, it's not close to my old 325 that I bought back in 1996. I'm still using my 325 for occasional mowing with the mulching deck and also for plowing snow. That tractor is built like a tank and has close to 2,000 hrs. It's hard to believe that the 325 was purchased for around the same price back in 1996 as the new X570 in 2017. That tells you that there have been cheaper-made parts and it wasn't built to the higher quality standards.
    I only have 270 hrs on my X570 and already the steering gear is shot. The 4-year warranty just expired a few months ago. The old 325 has a real automotive-style steering gearbox, not just a stamped steel gear. The front axles and steering chassis are really kind of pitiful on the X570. I now wish I'd stepped up to the higher grade model. Lastly, the deck removal is horrible on the X570 vs the old 325. It's so much easier on the 325. I curse every time I have to remove the deck on the X570. I just started using some ramps to remove the blades just to avoid the deck removal. The X570 is still a nice tractor if you have a small flat yard and don't treat it too rough. The best part of that tractor is the 24-hp Kawasaki. Thanks for all the details.

    Just so folks know about this concerning information. I just called my local Deere dealer where I bought my X570. I called to get a price on just two things . First being the 200 hrs tranny fluid change . Second , changing the transmission drive belt. I was quoted $1000.00 dollars plus $150 pick up and delivery. This is some serious coin to do what I consider minor service. I’m 70 and not able to do this myself. Currently looking for someone more reasonable to do the work. Not happy about this !

The Cub Cadet XT2 gx54 D has a K62 The Deere is a better machine for my needs due to the K72 and the Deere has best parts availibility compared to other brands. John Deere should have had a class action brought against them decades ago over their use of garbage transaxles. Anything below the near-entry level x300 models have unserviceable sealed transaxles (some are even plastic!) that will turn your new mower into a 3-7k paperweight in short order if you are mowing anything more than a flat postage stamp yard.
    And yes, I know YOU probably have a D170 from 1999 with 10k hours on it that you mow your mountainside with zero issues. My brand new one, on the other hand, blew up just before the warranty ran out when mowing 2.5 slightly rolling acres. So good on ya.

      You say that like john deere built those transaxles? The tlt200 in the s 100 series is made by tuff torque and are used by john deere,cub cadet,craftsman and others. From the s170 thru x350 the use a tuff torque k46,which again is used in john deere,craftsman, cub cadet,husqvarna and others. Some makers offer a better warranty than others and some small details may be specified by the buyers such as detents,spring mounts,bolt patterns,etc,but essentially they're the same. I know you're frustrated,whi wouldnt be,but before ya go assigning blame do a little research. Again,I'm sorry for your troubles.

      @@ciphercode2298 You say that like I didn't already know it. The issue is not with the transaxle, but the intended USE of the part. Just, damn.

If you knew they had no serviceable trannies I've gotta wonder why you bought it and why you're complaining. You know you get what you pay for. 99 times out of 100 if you're not abusing it or asking it to do more than what its designed for itll last just fine. Hauling heavier loads,steep hills,and heat kill these transaxles. You can in fact drain and replace the transmission fluid, but it requires removing the transaxle and buying the proper fluid. It only takes about 2 hours from beginning to end. Your best friend is to educate yourself against further problems. If its completely shot and under warranty theyll help you,otherwise buy a known good used transaxle and do the fluid change before installing it.
