Having owned both chrome and rubber bumper versions over the years I have always preferred the latter, they actually drive better and seem to have more road presence as well as gathering less muck underneath 😁. Lovely cars, had a similar 1978 Tahiti Blue GT as a daily not so long ago and now punt around in a 1980 LE Roadster in decent weather. Thanks for posting support for the ‘Rubbers’! Let the armchair pundits fork out three times as much for a couple of rusty chrome bumpers 🤣

Lovely little cars. I have a '77 Tourer in Tahiti Blue and it's a blast.

Looks a tidy car, though I notice the steering wheel is from an earlier model. Had rubber bumper BGT for 25 years almost and only ever experienced body roll once in that time. Road handling I have always found fine, and if a Caterham 7 shunts you from behind as happened to me, then they come off a lot worse than you. My car was undamaged as he hit the rubber bumber.

These were my favorite MGB's. I prefer the rubber bumper/higher ride height. Just wish you could still get an automatic!

The lack of engine noise in this video breaks my heart.

Thanks for doing this review. Being 63 since yesterday and can't afford my dream Italian cars from the 70th, the MGB is a clear alternative. There was a major change after Sep 1976 on these cars. So I'm looking for one of these ones. Heart says an open one, brain says a GT. Also after the aforementioned date, the V8 (RV8) swap is easier...
    Best Greetings from Sweden.
PS The Stag should have had a Rover V8, if it wasn't for stubborn engineers and executives......

I was able to put a double bass drum kit in my mgb gt. There is space if you use it optimally.
