- I tried to completely redo the Daft Punk song "Touch", to do a full remake.
It was a bit hard but fun.
For some parts I'm quite happy, for others not so much, but anyway I felt compelled to post it after it was asked, that and the fact I spent much time on it, so there you go, I hope anyone who listens to this will enjoy it
Also I thought it was a great way to end the year

What a cover to end out the year! Touch is definitely one of the most complex songs I think they said they made during RAM and I've heard it so much that you definitely hit so many of those little nuisances the song has. Touch always feels large and emotional and I think you kept that essence!

On ressent bien que c'est éléctronique et non joué par un homme, mais ça donne ce sentiment stable et robotique en gardant la justesse des sons que tu as refait a la quasi perfection, je te jure que tu as fait un excellent travail pour ce qui est des sonorités, on dirait la version Live studio ou une maquette / demo du son original, magnifique

How did you set up your vocoder Gear? Everything ready for Live Performance? Or edited in the daw?
Edited in the daw. The vocoder is pre-recorded then edited to match as much as possible the original vocoder. Also here there's multiple vocoder parts, so that's technically not possible to do that live I guess.
It's great ! Which plugin did you use for the chord, please ?
If I remember well I used multiple, but the main one was BBC Symphony Orchestra from Spitfire Audio that's probably what you're looking for.

How did you get the whistly synths in the back?
I don't know which ones you're talking about specifically, so I'm going to assume it's the ones that do some kind of solo from 1:10.
I made them with my synth (Yamaha Reface CS) but it doesn't matter, it's just a simple sine wave so easy to redo.
(If it was not this synth part, you can specify by putting a time code if you want)
What effects do you add to the vocoder recordings
woaa I don't remember now, it was a long time ago now, hmm a lot of EQ for sure, high frequencies mostly for clarity, also compressors, and I guess that's it actually
