I spent some time driving the Golf 7.5 GTD. It's a pretty good car. Watch the review for more. - Авто та транспорт
Love the review . Ended of purchasing one after watching this . I am extremely happy . Great efficiency too!!!!
Thanks Shawn. I am in the market for a golf and am seriously thinking about the GTD. Thank you for your input.
Pleasure.
After this review ,believe it or not ...I ended of getting myself a GTD...boy am I happy.
They’re bloody awesome cars dude.
Test drive done today , what a beauty , lovely to drive , picking up on Saturday next
Sweet! Enjoy it
Get mine on Tuesday, can’t wait!
Sweet
Wow love the digital dash display looks truly high end. Also its the screen display security protected.
GTD absolutely fantastic looking car and all that torque sounds very quiet.
I really like the 7.5 - I currently drive a 2015 GTD 7. But there just are not enough worth while changes to make me spend all that money to upgrade. The only thing that I would like in my GTD is the active display.
Active display isn’t worth the upgrade. Golf 7 GTD is an excellent car, I’d just stick to it. Wait for 8 or even 9, that’ll be a worthwhile effort to upgrade.
You can always retrofit it, if you are seriously interested...
You get more power and torque on European models. 380nm and 137kw
Always put your bag in the boot not in the car. Let's avoid smash and grabs.
I have one like this in white 2017
i want one so bad love from uk
They are nice
Are the digital dials an optional extra in the uk
No, they are standard on GTD. Optional for 2.0 TDI 150 hp for £495.
I want this car!
I have one and its pretty nice though mine isnt stock anymore and idk about stock but with the upgrades ive done it pulls decently and im still adding more stuff😂
cool daddy nice review
It's 380Nm
That's normal Golf. GTD is 184bhp/135kW; 380Nm
TU PAC DELOIN - Actually we are both right. In England we get the new more powerful 2.0 GTD 184PS and 380NM. While you in South Africa get the less powered engine that we put in and moderate Golf R-Line and GT Models. Can't think why VW in your Country would put that under powered engine in what is supposed to be the next model under the GTi. Also we get 7 Speed DSG. I know which I would prefer. Having been to SA several times reminds me that I need to revisit. Love the place. Great friendly people. Oh and cheap booze.
So the apparent reason we get the detuned engines is because we’re a warmer climate 🤷🏻♂️
Got the same from Audi when they brought the S3 out.
As for the DSG, no idea why we get the 6 speed. I should probably ask VW at some point.
De-tuned u say....lol
@@ShawnJooste in the UK at least, the 7 Speed DSG couldn't initially cope with the extra torque/power combo in the GTD. They uprated it for the later 7.5 apparently. At least that's what I was told, although there may have been an overlap. My 7 has a six-speed DSG.
Great review but the audio needs a lot of work as your voice is quite quiet and unclear.
+Resonate84 thanks. Yeah, aware of the audio issues. Working on better microphones. 👍🏻
Your steering wheel is on the wrong side man!
LOL
Ez így elég fos...
Ilyen kaliberű autó,csak is 3 ajtós legyen!!
Na meg a kormány is jó szar helyen van! :D (a suta barmok miatt :P )
the gearbox is 7 speed not 6. nice review ty
+steve evans checked, press release says 6 speed. twitter.com/shawnjooste/status/914573551725875200

Nope, in South Africa they're sold as 6 Speed DSG's: www.vw.co.za/en/models/new-golf-7/trimlevel-overview.s9_trimlevel_detail.suffix.html/golf~2Fgtd/tab=TECHDATA.html
wow.thats terrible.the 7 speed replaced the 6 speed quite some time ago here.i would not be buying a new car with outdated tech. surely this will cost vw big time. best avoided i think.
+steve evans welcome to Africa
Miles per gallon please
My GTD will do a combined in the real world of 50mpg. I find you have to work hard to get over 60mpg but then again its not that kind of car lol
