Range, that's why. There's no way you can use these without putting yourself in harm's way against most bosses and enemies. This is where cragblade comes in.
@@takeachance5881 How does cragblade alleviate the range issues? It just gives damage and poise afaik
@@dancer2234 What I was talking about is that it has such limited range that you will be in harms way almost 100% when hitting people with it. But if you can break their poise a lot quicker, then the chance of getting hit would be largely mitigated, solving the downside that comes with low range.

There is a very clear difference between cosmetics and clothing. I dont wear blue jeans to make you think those are my legs, or a shirt to make you think thats my torso. They are changing my appearance to something else altogether. Makeup exists to obscure your actual face, while still looking like your face, just a better version of it. That cannot be said for jeans, they do make my legs look different, and the raison d'etre is not to hide imperfection.
Someone else mentioned that same simile as you have, but replaced clothes with a haircut. A haircut is an actual semi-permanent alteration to your appearance. Its changing your appearance by literally changing your body/style. Makeup is just a coat of paint (figuratively) that wipes off, doesnt change your body at all, just adds the tiniest layer of facade to your face, to hide things you dont want people to see, like your wrinkles or birthmarks or discolorations. With enough makeup you can look 20 years younger or 20 years older. A haircut doesn't hide anything, doesn't make you appear to be different than you are, its just a change in style. With your argument cosmetic prosthetics wouldn't even be lying, despite how some prosthetics can make you look 500 pounds or give you a larger nose or make you look like a carbon copy of another human being (provided your face is smaller than theirs).
Or TL;DR Hiding is lying. A lie of omission is still a lie.
To be clear, I don't really care about people wearing makeup, male or female, but I do hate makeup, it is lying, and makeup will hopefully become a thing of the past and people can stop complaining about their oily acne ridden faces.

Dear lord sometimes you forget how you can be talking to someone like normal and sometimes it turns out they think makeup is lying. I say this as a woman with 0 skin care or makeup aside from sunscreen. I dont wear makeup because I prefer how I look without it. If you do feel that way, I can tell you, as someone that has discussed make up with many people that wear it, it is for themselves, not for you, and certainly not to decieve you. I do think a lot of women wear make up specifically because they have been basically trained to see a womans face in makeup as default and without it as messy or ugly. Accusing women of lying by wearing make up is only going to make them dislike you and continue wearing makeup while also hurting their feelings because you imply their real face is somehow gross. Which you might think it is because you are used to women wearing makeup. There is no winning.
Yeah wearing make up isnt lying, but for sure you ont wear it for yourself. Maybe thats what you think but its false. If it wouldnt be for other you wouldnt wear it. And im not talking about womeny but in general, like celebritys. If looks wouldnt matter in this world no one would wear makeup. But over all it doesnt matter, wear it if you likey or dont if you dont want too. But dont blame others for something which doesnt afect your life at all. How someone looks shouldnt matter, sadly its the most important thing in life. And everyone who says something else is dreaming.

I am saying they doing it for themselves in that they arent doing it to make men think they are prettier than they are. Which is what the "makeup is lying" idea relies on. I think people do it because they want to feel confident in their looks around other people. Which yes, is something only done around others but the important thing is how the the make up wearer feels rather than the other people. Hopefully that makes sense. I agree in supporting people wearing makeup while thinking it is unfortunate that some people feel like they need it to have self confidence.
Second i assume you are using universal 'you' rather than specifically referring to me as I did say in my comment I do not wear makeup.

Your face and body are not something shameful or bad or inferior. I dont have my head in the clouds, I am well aware I am not conventionally attactive, but that doesnt mean my body is bad or that i will never reach my goals until i "fix" it.

And yes looks shouldnt matter but they do a lot, and its proven by many studies. Someone who is more atractive will be seen as more trustworthy, and overall as a better person. It starts in the school where its been priven that kids that look better(symetric faces and so things) will be treated better and get better grades. And again im not saying that its good that it is that way, but thats how life works. And like you said, wearing make up makes them feel better around people because it makes them look better then they are without it. Regular no hits are almost entirely scripted, certain amount of damage for every single boss. Randomizer would be 100x harder, doable, but so much worse

Why iron ball instead of star fist
iron ball does more damage and has higher stance damage . Meaning its strong and can quickly make enemies fall to their knees.

You must think too a lot of bosses have high bleed res / some who are immune to it as well.
bleed also needs levels in arcane to proc faster.

The amount of people who were so against the very thought of actually trying to look good, instead of just complaining was stunning. Fallout 4 was easily the best Fallout mechanically, and for a lot of us, that is the singular most important thing for video games. I will admit that New Vegas and 3 were more interesting, but 4 was just more fun to actually play for me.
