I’m still not there yet! But I started saying no to a lot of work outside of UA-cam content and brand videos for clients. No more wedding, parties, events and that helped my business a lot. I think I’m getting to the next phase where I’ll only work with entrepreneurs that want to grow on UA-cam.

Just like James and thousands of other designers I find myself daily drawn into all my interests in terms of working in graphic, web and motion design, logo, icon and illustration work, photography, video and 3D - I am getting to the point where finally after yearrs I might be settling more towards a combination of putting best use of my photography of people and products, twinned with 3D work as part of product design/animation/vfx - its not yet clear how I can manage this its been an idea a long time in the making and its still not entirely niched but if I can steer that direction and stay afloat it could be the answer ive been searching for all these years

Nice niche, educating and focusing down on the Adobe updates that some may have missed. It’s very easy to get stuck in a routine of doing things your own way and ignoring these later updates. Particularly for dinosaurs like me who started on Photoshop 5 and Freehand in the mid 90s😅 But it is the age old question. How do these content creators get past the YT algorithm? You know the one, where it delivers 200 (or thereabouts) impressions before giving up and not delivering your videos anywhere else so nobody gets to see your work/ content. As a 40+ year old designer I have a mortgage and bills to pay, I don’t have time to spend tickling the social algorithms. Sorry hope that doesn’t come across as too negative but I find it frustrating that’s all. Nice content as always. 😊

Make good content. It's simple as that. Ask yourself is what I'm making good, valuable and sharable? Put in the reps produce 500 videos.
