    I would take the PRS as well, but I think I would rather have two CE 24's instead, setting one up as a synth controller with heavier gauge strings and the other up with lighter gauge as my #1. I find that the maple bolt-on neck eliminates some of the "mahogany mud" and gives you a crispier snappier sound. Also would be scared to play an $8000 guitar, would have to take out insurance on it and charge more money for sessions whenever I used it!

      @12x2richter 4 роки тому

      It'd be tough, because the SEs, S2's (or whatever we're calling them now) and the full tilt PRS all have drastically different carves. It'd only be confusing between the Custom Shop/Artist ones and the full Core PRS, and that's to be expected, I think.
      Although... if you didn't TELL them that's what it was, just said "We're filming a Guitar comparison video" blindfolded them and THEN handed them some PRS guitars of different stripes, out of order, it might work. Although I still think Chappers would figure it out by the 3rd guitar.

Basically I'm saying I'd never pay more then 500 to 600 tops for a guitar and I honestly don't think any guitar is worth more than 1000 dollars unless it was something like the guitar Buddy Holly was buried with and someone went and dug it up.

    the coloured inlay`s on tthe PRS don`t help (or work) at that price point! plain black (for 4K)-nope, sorry Knaggs, & a guitar that Ibanez will sell you for a zero less than numbers on the Jackson price tag, sorry Jackson!

    Nah, I wouldn't buy any of these. If the prs were visually toned down a heap, then definitely it, but it's just too ornate.

    Ah, figures. Strange. That Jackson looks nice and even not too basic, but I guess people want black or something even less basic.

    There's one thing I HATE about music shops: if I were going to buy a guitar for $8000 I wouldn't want you shredding on it, tearing up frets, leaving scratches on the fretboard when you do bends, with the buttons of your shirt scratching the back, the rings on you fingers scratching the neck, the oils on your fingers penetrating the fretboard, etc. At that point, it's a used instrument and devalued significantly, in my eyes.

  • @MarioVerkerk

    No, I would not buy these. I made a deal with myself that I would only consider a guitar over 1000 if it's from the '60s or older.

    Let me just be honest... that knaggs for being 4 grand looks HORRID. When I pay 4 grand for a guitar I expect it to be extremely aesthetically pleasing but hey everyone has their opinions.

      I do, and I totally get it. Although I wouldn't lay out $8k for one. PRS is one of the best to pick up used for resale value though. I picked up my first Custom 24 for $1200 and my second for $1600. The $1600 was absolutely mint and hanging next to a brand new twin of it, but the new one was over $3k. They don't hold their value like Gibson and Fender do (yet), which makes them an amazing secondhand value.
