Super clear and profesional ! Respect your love for plants and insects !
Thanks for the thorough instructions! I've been wanting these for yrs & finally got some! Now I know they're worth it!
I trust Laura “garden answer”, this says he's an expert but how do we know that's true. He says build a dike around it to hold water in, she says don't over water, don't mulch, plant above ground. All I know is I planted mine let mother nature water it and mow it down with the rest of the yard in the spring no mulch no fertilizer and comes back great every year.
Yes, and everything I’ve read about them says they don’t need or even like fertilizer either. They’re a plant that “thrives on neglect”. My grandmother has had one for several years, as long as I can remember, and she has never done a thing to it and it thrives every year. It’s huge, but it’s in a spot where it can get as big as it wants to so she never prunes it.
Just watched “garden answer” s video and everything she said not to do he just said to do in this video so I’m confused ... he says they love mulch and water well she says do not use mulch and burry it above soil so water goes away
Jonny_mazerati I was just about to type the same thing as you!
I think bcz he’s British, he says mulch, but what it is to us is rich potting or top soil. I can say that they don’t like cypress mulch.
And he did say leave a trough around it, which is like planting it a bit high, so it doesn’t sit in water. It does love full sun and lots of water, well drained.
I thought this too lol
I was gonna write the same thing..
I just did the same thing!!!! Lol
thank you for the BB tips!!
Lovely job on this video :)
thanks mate
Sun or not?
What fertilizer
I know slow release
What
10 ×10 ×10?
Thanks for the tip about mixing mulch with soil.
My neighbor gave me two❤❤
which fertilizer is this
Also he did not tease the roots in the ball before planting, a common practice to encourage root growth and reduce circling roots. Lots of inconsistencies here.
I watched another video and the lady said dont add mulch
I have a yellow butterfly bush
info a bit too vague, what about What Not To Do, what about if I want to grow them from scratch, should I start from seeds????
Everytime I plant one it dies what am I doing wrong. Help!
Probably in the wee hours of the morning when you are sleeping
your husband sneaks outside and goes weewee on your butterfly bush
dont overwater and mulch
Do you plant butterfly bush in the sun ?
total sun, they will do great but dont listen to this guy
this guy is totally wrong, you want a well drained area so its not sitting in water and dont mulch. mulch retains water. I hope people don't listen to him, he's clueless. My bushes on side of the hill so the water does not stay around the bush. Take my advice dont listen to this guy
Well, I guess anybody can have a channel on youtube, and like Wikipedia, just because it's in print does not make it fact. The moment that he said mulch, instead of compost, it became unwatchable.
