Always good to have clear videos for us DIY’ers. TY
Glad it helped
Well explained. Great views. Excellently concise. This is everything we need in UA-cam videos. Thank you!
Thank You!
This is exactly what I needed! Very well explainied and I appreciate it! P. S. I took a utility knife to the plastic covering up the screw and cut out a little notch to make it easier to reach it next time.
Glad it helped - yeah that screw location is a poor design
I did exactly the same thing!
R tt tty u utyytutttytttttyytut uuuuyuur
@@PYR-Auto Seems like it is intentional design. One more hurdle (however small it may be) to prevent people from doing their own maintenance.
I just did the same!!😂 Ridiculous design placement for the screw.
Great job, thanks thinking about heating up a screwdriver and melting the plastic covering the one screw or small grinding bit so you don't have to pull down the plastic.
Thank you for pointing out direction of air flow.
Glad it helped!
Such a bad design. That screw is so hard to get a tool on
Yeah it really is - they could have easily done it differently
Its chevy lol
Bad design all around . The battery for instance .
Leave the the screw out.
This is BY DESIGN. If it’s inconvenient enough then people won’t do it themselves and go to the dealer.
leave it out
Nice job!! Thank you for a great explanation. ✌️
You're Welcome!
Thank you, The dealership just Quoted me $69 to change this filter...I think I will do it myself!!
You're Welcome!
i just got quoted 100 to replace lol😂
You can feel good about it, they charged me $250
Thank you for this!
You're Welcome!
Very helpful. Seems that torx screw is quite unnecessary
'23 Traverse here. It is not possible to bend the plastic out of the way to access the screw on my vehicle. It is WAY too rigid. I'll be cutting it out of the way.
yeah - not sure why they didnt include a cut-out from the factory
Thank you, this did it.
You're welcome! Glad it helped!
Awesome video
Thanks!
Pro tip. The screw is not necessary. The first time you get it out just toss it. The cover will stay clipped in good. The screw is overkill. I threw mine away 3 changes ago and it's been fine
5 min with a dremel fixed getting that screw out. 😁 Crazy how engineers thought that was a good idea to cover that screw. 🤔
Agreed!
They probably didn't have the brain cell left to make it easy to access the screw. That is something GM had overlooked and never thought of leaving a notch opening so it would be easier to access the screw.
I believe they do that crap on purpose to dissuade people from doing it themselves. That worked before the internet but they need to give it up
Muchas gracias, thanks you!!!
You're Welcome!
Thank you!
You’re Welcome!
I’m thinking do you really need that little torx screw if you have the clips holding it in place?
it probably wouldn't hurt to not have the screw
Great guide! Now i know how im gonna melt that piece blocking the screw to make it easier to access the next time I change a new filter. Thank You for providing this video guide, very helpful. I had the 2018 LT AWD.
Glad it helped!
Is there any way for GM to have more uncomfortable and difficult to get and pull this damm filter ?
Why is the air flow arrow pointing downwards isn't that the return air for the ac ???
Super helpful. Thank you! I bought this Traverse brand new 2021. It has no screw and the filter was in sideways. Luckily the air flow direction was correct. The filter definitely needed to be changed. 30K miles. It was pretty dirty.
Glad it helped!
Need more in-depth instructions as to reattaching the dampening latch. Otherwise awesome directions! My Chevy dealership had cut away the plastic blocking the screw AND also must have decided the screw wasn’t needed. 😊
❤❤ I agree with other comments ... well done and accurate. Thanks for the instruction
Thanks!
That is so damn desighn make it so hard for us so qe can take them to dealership to replaced canin filter i will never buy trzverse again even air filter is screw.
Thanks dealer talking about we will change it for 80 bucks lol
Glad it helped!
Just got a Traverse. I just changed my filter on my 2015 4runner, which got me thinking about the Traverse and what's involved. The 4runner takes me all of 30 seconds. But could be worse. I changed the filter once on my mom's 2001 Honda Accord. Literally had to take half the dash off.
Very easy to follow video.
Thank you.
On a side note we used a razor knife and cut out a knotch where the T 20 torox bit goes in to make it easier the next time.
Not a difficult process by any means but you did a great job on the video.
Thanks!
@@manaburngaming1901 Always nice to see how others do things or you can think you know everything and then make stupid comments.
Great informative video that was straight to the point. Thanks for the time and money saved!
You're Welcome!
My 2018 Traverse has a little notch where the screw is for easy access, I wonder Chevy didn't keep that in the newer models.
This was so easy, you saved me 80 bucks at dealership thanks! Took 3 minutes. There was no t20 screw there when took off. Guessing don’t really need one?..
No - it probably just didn't get reinstalled last time it was changed or checked
Thank you! Dealership wanted to charge me $70 & I wanted to do by myself. Bless you!
You're Welcome! Glad it helped
Excellent video bro! Ordering that T20 Torx bit ASAP!
Thanks!
Thanks for the excellent, clear instructions. Nice job!
Thanks! Glad it helped
The first time that I changed mine, I took my handy dandy oscillating tool to that little lip of plastic and cut a notch into it.
good idea
what....the first car i've seen with a screw holding that latch. WHYY!!!!!!
Excellent!. Thank you
You're Welcome!
You don’t need to remove the screw
what does it do then?
Very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thank you!!

Thanks

Whatever engineer made this design should be fired.
Seriously!
