When I was 9 years old, I almost drowned in the sea. I was not aware that this was happening. All I was aware of was lovely incidents in my life flashing past, all the while feeling totally held and safe and fully aware with the same awareness present throughout my life. In the very, very far distance I heard someone screaming and screaming, but it touched me in no way. I came by on the beach after my uncle managed to pull me out. They told me it was me screaming. The reason for telling this is what John said at the start: what you truly are will not feel different at all. This is exactly how it was for me. The screams must have come from fear, but it was not the real me screaming. It was someone I have already left behind and there was only vague awareness of it. I never much thought about it again until I was in my 30s and started my spiritual search. That incident took away all fear of death.

Hello Phil. I’m sure you’re aware but the past couple of videos, John’s mic has a buzz on it. It could be a number of things causing it, but I think it might be worth looking into it. @@austincole3381 nah its given me the most peace, think about it, how was life before you were born? it wasn't scary, it wasn't anything. This helps me understand the nothingness, since its very hard to comprehend not being sentient any more. I just think 'it'll be just like before my start'.

Love this so much! Thank you John!
I'm not a religious person, so i don't have the comfort of an eternal afterlife in mind, however i find comfort in the idea that we go back to where we were before birth, which i can't remember, so odds are i wont remember anything after death either.
Doesn’t that freak you out? Just nothingness? Genuine question not trying to troll. Like the idea of just nothing scares me, I’d like to think there is a God and he’s got this place for me to rest. Idk just a thought
@@austincole3381 nah its given me the most peace, think about it, how was life before you were born? it wasn't scary, it wasn't anything. This helps me understand the nothingness, since its very hard to comprehend not being sentient any more. I just think 'it'll be just like before my start'.
@@ArtificialMisery How do you know you weren't sentient before this current experience? Just because you don't remember it - doesn't mean it, you, wasn't a truism.
@@ArtificialMisery to your point I understand that seems like a breath of fresh air in a way, but in my humble opinion it would make life itself so drab(to me) like all these pleasures and all this raw untapped potential just to fade away to nothing? It makes me feel uneasy, again I respect your opinion and appreciate you sharing some insight.
@@austincole3381 I can see why that'd make you feel uneasy, but I see it differently, gives me true freedom. Means no matter how well or badly i do in life, it'll eventually be for nought anyway. So now i don't stress about anything any more, nihilism works well for some, not so much for others.
he is so beautiful it makes me weep.
Shy voto! I know were you’re coming from my dear, I’m a 53 year old guy 6 ft4 tall believe it or not but he makes me well up to.
Shy Voto he is a beautiful Soul indeed ❤️and there is so much gentleness, kindness and Love about him...it is like talking with the man truly connected to the Source
When we die, I think we will finally be present.
For God's very name is I AM.
Good to see Phil again
An ecological vandal. Oh my goodness, how we love you and Phil-Thank you for that group laugh 💛 it was lovely.
he made me a little bit less scared of death
i understand. if i may, what cured me of that, outside of my christian faith, was watching hours upon hours of near death experience stories. it's just all too obvious and clear... we don't end, we just slip over into another realm, which seems vastly more real than this one.
God bless you until next time.
Weyyyyy, hello Phil! Good to see you again man.
Just want to wish you happy holidays and merry christmas! You are an inspiration sir.
oh god bless you John. I could see the light at the end of tunnel. meditation meditation meditation...
By god John your brilliant!! All these videos shed light and I’m grateful. It goes deep . I choose to see the light .
Thank you for sharing! 😇
I would love to meet you in person! I may have to journey to Bakewell in the post COVID future
I like the Ben and Jerry’s poster haha. Bless this man!
Thank you, John.
John's videos are really great....the best asmr. However...the lead line's "What happens when we die?" Best evidence is that we go into a hole in the ground....everything else is conjecture...and I do respect Judeo-Christian precepts...among the living. Thanks to John and Phil...and hope for many more years of this channel. PS: happy new year to all.
When John passes on, God will individually welcome him to Paradise, because God knows that John understands. They both can have equal conversation based on understanding.
Now this is quality
I wouldn't normally wear an argyle sweater, but I'd wear that one.
