I use this track many times over the past 20 years when teaching numbers to my German students in secondary school who would be mainly 12/13 years of age. It never dates and they can’t believe it’s so “old” 😄 They learn a few numbers in other languages 😀 They do wonder always who are the strange old men 😆
Its IMPOSSIBLE to overstate the influence Florian Scneider and Ralph Hutter had on modern music.Its not easy to find a genre of populat music today not beeing a direct result or side-effect of what Kraftwerk did allready around 1974 until the early 80s.They were lightyears ahead of everybody,practically INVENTING modern music,to be pioneers and innovative in such a way as to completly redraw the map for all others to follow,has only been done by The Beatles before.Its mindblowing what these guys did.God bless you Florian for all the joy and inspiration!!!

I went to their concert a week ago, and it's very interesting to listen to this almost 20 year old performance right after. The 2023 version was almost completely different in so many ways.

I was going to buy tickets to see Kraftwerk in Columbus OH to cross them off my bucket list then COVID hit. Then Florian passed away. This video makes me wish I could have seen them live. So good! The induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame brought me to this video today! ABOUT TIME! Long overdue for the most influential band in the last 40 years!! Music is different today because of these guys!
I was around at the time to see it debut. I see this now with fresh eyes: you basically have 4 techno DJ's operating in tandem. Seeing it that way, you see all sorts of possibilities and opportunities that ... sadly ... were never acted on (like DJ's intercepting and remixing each others' mixes, in real time, overlaying on top, adding in effects, improvising). They never evolved beyond their original style to this - even though it was the natural next stage for them to advance to. It would have been great to see Kraftwerk II, once again pioneers, round 2.
Without KRAFTWERK there would be no Techno today.
How is it possible, that these 4 men who are 60+ create the most beautiful music EVER... by barely moving a muscle.

I grew up on kraftwerk in Gary Indiana in the early 80s it's the beats that gets you it's techno it pops right now
This is far better than any educational television (Sesame Street, anyone?). I just learned to count to 8 in four different languages!

I never heard of them till late into my raving period. like 2003. and still didn't get their albums till later. But they are truly an iconic band.

I never thought counting could be so awesome
I was going to buy tickets to see Kraftwerk in Columbus OH to cross them off my bucket list then COVID hit. Then Florian passed away. This video makes me wish I could have seen them live. So good! The induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame brought me to this video today! ABOUT TIME! Long overdue for the most influential band in the last 40 years!! Music is different today because of these guys!

I was around at the time to see it debut. I see this now with fresh eyes: you basically have 4 techno DJ's operating in tandem. Seeing it that way, you see all sorts of possibilities and opportunities that ... sadly ... were never acted on (like DJ's intercepting and remixing each others' mixes, in real time, overlaying on top, adding in effects, improvising). They never evolved beyond their original style to this - even though it was the natural next stage for them to advance to. It would have been great to see Kraftwerk II, once again pioneers, round 2.
RIP Florian my respects to you and all Kraftwerk members 🌹
