Classical guitars are our passion! We are specialized in the highest quality concert guitars as well as historic guitars from around the world. We also recorded pieces for many great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Isaac Albeniz (Asturias). Jim Redgate is a highly sought-after Australian luthier, known for his guitars built for artists such as Ana Vidovic, Pepe Roméro and Odair Assad. This lattice-braced model is an exact copy of the guitar that Ana Vidovic plays. Jim Redgate’s instruments have their own sound and touch. The breath-taking volume combined with rich harmonics and impressive clarity of sound are quite unique. The playability is fantastic, and the guitars are relatively light in weight compared to the Australian standard.
We’ve of course heard Ana Vidovic in concert many times playing on a Redgate guitar, but this guitar convinced us even more of the quality of Jim’s work. The honesty and spontaneity of each note, the magnificent volume, the ease of playing, and the unique sound character of this guitar make it an instrument not only rare in Europe, but above all extremely enchanting.

With all due honor to Maestro Segovia, his disciples & to many others, this is the finest performance of this piece I have ever heard. Ana is a gift, perhaps from some heavenly realm - &, although Ana could probably bring superb classical music out of a toy banjo, Jim Redgate deserves credit for his contribution, too - hell of an instrument. Thanks to all.
Ana's interpretation of this Sonatina is always pristine. John Williams recorded this piece in 1976 on an album produced by ABC/Westminster Gold. If you have the opportunity to listen to his recording, you won't regret it. The album also contains Ponce's 12 Preludes, which Williams plays flawlessly. One should also consider that had Segovia been afforded today's recording technology, his performances may sound even better than they already do on the older recordings. And in the end, it is always subjective. I am grateful that so many gifted artists are keeping this wonderful music alive.
@@KM-jp2wx Despite having had the honor to meet Maestro Segovia (& receiving his autograph, as a child, following his premiere of Rodrigo's "Concierto para Un Gentilhombre" outdoors at the Alhambra), John Williams has always been my favorite of his pupils; equally, perhaps, with Narciso Yepes, depending on composers they addressed. Agreed as to recording technology. Although these YT presentations are also a very real gift, one always must factor in the layers of "filtration" that occur before the music reaches our ears. Will try to find the Westminster album. Thanks!

I love this piece. When I Iisten to it, it makes me think of Don Quijote and Sancho Pansa riding over a sunny hillside....the higher melody being the flamboyant trot of Quijotes horse and the lower melody stampy sturdy pace of Sanchos donkey.
