I just want to say that you are by far my favorite creator on UA-cam and thats saying quite a bit considering the amount of time I spend watching YT lol. I admire you're positive attitude even when things go wrong. I'm also absolutely amazed at your willingness and ability to just dive into stuff head first even when you aren't familiar with it! Mad props and if you ever want to take a road trip bring that thing to southern Iowa we have some pretty awesome party lakes lol
You smash it out of the park further and further with each new build. Your Videos are the ones I crave to see first when you upload them. You are far better than you give yourself credit at times, remember that.
Man you killed it on this build!!! That thing is awesome & it was so cool to watch this rebuild series. Although it makes my pontoon project look so ghetto! Lol Fantastic Job!!!!!! 👏
Hey man how are you doing. It has been a long time that i saw you doing cool stuf. Are you ok? I really mis your content. You are my favourite channel! Hope you do ok and hope too see you soon with some cool projects!
Just finishing up a rebuild of a 24' SunTracker Party Barge. I'm retired & it's been a learning experience. New carpet, bimini, reupholstered, etc. For some reason someone removed the water system for the sink, used non shrink wrap butt connectors, incorrect gauge wiring & thought any material fastener would do. Sink now has water, rewired 99.9% of boat. In critical areas joints are soldered & double shrink wrapped. Oh & I've spent a small fortune on stainless. My intent is to sell her which should be on the market on about 30 days. Has been a test of my mechanical, electrical & wood working skills. Totally enjoy your rebuild videos.
Unless you are hitting the ideal max rpm (probably 5500rpm for that motor) at wide open throttle with a light load, your prop is pitched too high or too big diameter. You’ll be causing undue stress on the motor’s internals. I would correct it. Even if the 25mph is fine for you, you’re putting too much stress on the motor.
Exactly, you want the lowest pitched prop that will not allow you to exceed max RPMs for that motor. Most pontoons that’s a 11p or 13p, or 12p or 14p in a four blade prop.
@@mikebennett9356 its a big boat so id go big diameter with maybe a 14 or 15 pitch, it is a 150hp. My 150 pontoon runs a 17 pitch 14" diameter 4 blade Merc spitfire prop. Tops out at 40 mph loaded, will do 45 empty with a 19 pitch 3 blade ss prop. I love 4 blades on pontoons because top speed is never as important to me as getting up an going and maneuverability. I also like the idea of aluminum, one because its a lake, and two it will flex and that can work to your advantage in allowing the motor to get up to RPM
Love how the build came out. Just seeing where it started can spark so much inspiration to others. Would be sad to see it go but there’s always more projects out there!
Truly enjoyed watching your rebuild the ultimate party pontoon boat. You are a craftsman. Good Luck with all your future projects and endeavors. 👍🇺🇸💪 😎
Lowering the pitch of the prop gives the boat more power and better acceleration. A higher pitch makes the boat go faster at the top end, but needs more power to run within a safe RPM operating range.
Weld on a couple knee braces on that platform, it will stiffen it up a good amount with very little work needed. Could be tubing, or even just a flat plate in the corners above the speakers. Just adding more section to the corners will make a significant difference, as of right now it doesn’t have any lateral support system at all just cantilevered tubing essentially. Adding even a few inches of welded plate knee bracing in the short direction of the boat and it can act more of a braced frame.
Very cool build, that rig rocks! It would work well out west here at Lake Havasu in any cove. Thanks for a great video series, and keep up the good work!
Fantastic work Zach. I believe the engine was shaking just not bc of the prop but bc it's only a 150hp & the boat is heavy, especially with 12 ppl on it. Me & my dad have a 25ft long / 8ft wide tritoon, a 250hp engine was required bc of the weight of the boat. Still Fantastic work. I'd buy it but no money 😕. Our boat costs just over $72,000.
Your boat build is amazing! I lost track of you for a while. For some reason utube drops off my older subscribed channels. I don’t know why but I was watching this build up to the point of installing the second deck. It all looks amazing!
I can’t believe that this is the one that your gonna sell ,but I get it ,bigger return maybe?,but I’m positive you know best ,beautiful job (as always)!!!!! Only channel that gets a 👍before I watch ! Thanks again for letting us in !!!!
As always, you brought the fire even in the daylight and delivered on another totally amazing Ultimate Rebuild, you did such an amazing job man. Keep being the endless inspiration. Thank you👊🏻
Great finish to the party pontoon. Suggestion for wet bar buttons. Cover them with cell phone screen covers. Walmart sells good basic covers for 88-94 cents. Cut it to fit the buttons. You should do that to all electronic buttons ,especially in kitchen items, such as microwave or refrigerator. Printers and electronics, too. I would buy your boat, if I had money to do so. God Bless You and your family. Going to visit Sam soon?
Absolutely hands down the party barge I'd love to have to take down to the Whale 🐋 Harbor / Islamorada sand bar party with my friends and have a blast. The bar is a really awesome design. I'd have everything to camp on one of several small back channel keys I know about from the 10 years I was living down there in Islamorada. Including screens and tarps to attach from the deck up to the upper deck and forward to the bow to convert that area into sleeping quarters.
Don’t weld the upright guides. If you hit them wrong…you want them to move. Otherwise they could put a hole in your pontoon. Oh yeah…you crushed it bro…sweet boat! Your craftsmanship and ability to do it all amazes me!!!
Great build! You did a very good job!The only issue is the prop.If the outboard cannot reach the lower range of max rpm it can significantly reduce the life of the outboard.
Looks amazing! You did a fantastic job. You should bring the prop in to be repitched. Or have it cut down and rebalanced. I believe you're over propping that motor which will lower its lifespan.
I don’t have the attention span to read all the comments but great as usual. I noticed you mentioned the deck a couple of times. If you add a bow shaped brace (like the sides) across the front so it contacts the middle and reaches either side, it will improve the side to side stability that it appears that you are noticing.
Beautifully put together video...fantastic editing and the music choice is very apt. You are a very talented young man. Well done and keep putting videos out there. Big love from across the pond.
Awesome build! You mentioned about prop works for what you want . Just make sure at wide open with load the motor is turn between recommended rpms . To many rpms hurts the motor to low of rpms and the motor can overheat causing motor damage
Nice job! I was thinking you could use bedliner spray or undercoating to solve the issue with the foot rest being metal, that would make it waterproof, rust resistant, and textured.
25:32 - To clarify, under FL law, the vessel operator can consume alcohol (even while operating the boat) as long as they are not legally intoxicated while operating said vessel. One of the unique laws that was ambiguously written and for some reason hasn't been updated. EDIT: Should also mention that just because one may blow below the legal BAC, they can still get a BUI if they fail the field test. It's always best just not to drink at all if you're the operator.
I actually get sad when you finish your boat because I love watching you work on it because I’m also in the middle of redoing my boat we have a fisher with a three-quarter inch plastic flooring but what we did is we went out and bought two other boats really cheap took their metal roofs off and we’re going to put it on ours once we do the flooring then we’re gonna put solar on it but looking at yours at the final outcome is amazing with the second story the only thing I thought about was too bad you couldn’t put a steering wheel in the control unit upstairs that would be a great way to drive the boat no you always looking for something to do that’s creative maybe on your next boat anyways great job you’re painting your work is amazing for such a young kid!
Hey man does your local lake have a Sandbar hang-out? We go to Lake Wylie NC and it has a great Sandbar Party Spot where all the boats anchor and socialize. It’s most shallow point is about 2ft and the sandbar is big enough for about a 100-150 boats to chill out together. Anyway if you have a spot like this you may want to add a couple of Shallow Water Anchors to your Pontoon. I just added two 10ft Minn Kota Talons. One mounted on the front port-side and the other is mounted on the rear starboard side. I can cuddle up close to or between two boats and just press a button locking the boat in place with no wrestling with anchors that won’t set or let go after a while. Just thought this would be a great addition to your next build if you have a Sandbar. 😊 keep up the great work man. Love your channel.
Love the party barge 2.0! I prefer the 1.0 version though. The stand-up helm behind the bar was so unique and cool! Putting a bar on a boat just screams pull me over though.
I have a Yamaha 150 on my pontoon and it came with a Solas prop which was slow and had vibration. Switched to a matched Yamaha prop and it went away and I gained 3 mph on top end.
Great job on the boat I wish sometimes you could go more into the details of the electrical because I find that fascinating and I have no experience and we’re going to start a rebuild my buddy and I not in your level just on basic levels and the only other thing I thought about when I was watching your video does your dash need some way of protecting it from the rain like a shield it comes up and over but maybe matches your bar I don’t know just my thought because I think it’s wide open to the elements that you’re both beautiful beautiful job
The shaking could easily be cavitation from using the wrong prop. Most often caused by a miss matched to engine prop. Or an out of balance or damaged prop. I saw that a few times when I was living down in the Keys on other boats my boss would by to fix up and flip. I learned a lot from Don about working on and operating boats.
Hey man first thank you for your inspiring content. I was wondering if there are any visibility issues when you have people seated at the bar. I love that everyone can interact with the captain that’s a special setup. I wonder if I might need to build up the helm so it’s a higher vantage point?
Great job . I would have painted or power coated all chrome or aluminum railings and chair poles black it would give it a darker partier vibe the mix between dark wood and black and the aluminum just doesn’t go great but you did a great Rehaul
