    I really like the "house" concept...living room/kitchen... unique in regards to a pontoon boat (to me anyway)

    I think you hinted at a good name for the boat. Mellow in the front and party in the back…The Mullet. It also helps that it is a Florida fish.

    I didn’t see you do it, but I would recommend sealing that storage hatch to the floor with more then just screws. Water will seep under and slowly rot the floor in that area. I have used 3m 5200 you can get it at Home Depot.

    You should look into media blasting to clean up the aluminum corrosion. They have attachments for pressure washers that introduce a media to the water stream. Plus the water will help prevent the oxidized aluminum dust from becoming airborne. Looking forward to the finished product. Keep up the good work!

    Zach: again, your creativity amazes me. great job. Doesn't matter that one has padding and other doesn't...think moving from bed/living room to kitchen....although, now wondering if the padding helps distribute heat...hmm
    Me: thinking an aluminum threshold would look cool.
    Zach: Adds aluminum threshold.

    Derksen makes a "delux barn", with a really interesting "wrap around" front room. The room sticks out in front of the rest of the cabin, with windows front, left at a 45 degree angle, left at the 90 degree, and right at the 90 degree.
    I can see one of those, with the front porch extended 2-4 feet. that front room being turned into a "bridge" giving the pilot a huge field of view. the rest of the cabin being set up as a simple houseboat, with the back of the cabin having the double doors option. Then mounting the entire thing on a 3 pontoon, or a metal barge set up. the double doors opening to an aft exterior deck, with the front door opening to the front deck for anchor or docking.
    It just seems like it would make a fun "houseboat"/floating powered cabin.

    In the previous video you mentioned that you were wanting ideas for what to do with some extra space in the back of the pontoon and an idea i had was what if you added a place for one of your jetski, and then you could build something to lower it off the back (like how ships have for life boats). Would mean you could take both to the lake with only the 1 trailer.

  • @signart77

    You should invest in a decent sandblasting rig. There are tons of options as far as media that would give you a nice enough profile that you could paint or just leave the toons with a blasted finish. Clean and consistent. Stay away from Silica sand unless you have the appropriate supplied air respirator for it.

    I think you are going to have some 'issues' with the location of the axles once you hang a motor on that 3rd log.

    • @dlv444
      @dlv444 3 роки тому +1

      Good catch. Motor, Bar, Helm, Fuel all aft. Hard to tell for sure but that may add up to a negative tongue weight.

    • @sjkmpz
      @sjkmpz 3 роки тому +2

      In reality, he should relocate the axles and replace the leaf springs and also change out the hubs to allow for 5-4.5 bolt pattern. The set up is gonna need some load range C trailer tires at a minimum

    • @davidstradtman8232
      @davidstradtman8232 3 роки тому

      I agree on both comments. If possible it would be a good idea to get an axle weight on the single axle and tounge weight. Then he could see how much to move the axle or if there is need for a second. I had a 24' and it had a single but power size would make a difference, also.
