Yes, David Wise is back. This music is absolutely INCREDIBLE.
I'll never forget the moment when I saw this trailer with the music which is one of the best VGM I've ever heard. It still gives me the chills haha. The intro 0:25!!!

This is the best game ever made. I don't trust any other developer with the DKC series now. Or any other composer either. For 18 years DKC 1&2 we're my favorite games of all time, until I played this game

I never REALLY cared for the DKC games (shame on me), but that trailer made me purchase this game in a heartbeat. Never, EVER let go of David Wise again, Nintendo/Retro!
My nephew is on the team that created this game! Really proud of him. Donkey Kong has always been a favorite game of his, and he worked hard to land this fantastic job with Nintendo.

Returns was really fun and quite hard but it felt a bit lifeless for lack of better words. this game looks over the top and just looks amazing. nintendo knows how to do HD

I was going to buy this game before watching The Nintendo Direct video anyways but now I'm even more excited.
When they first showed this off at E3, I was like "Ugh another Returns?" but now I'm getting this game on day one.
That music!! There's no word to describe how great it is. I was so happy when they announced Dave Wise was back. It's so close to what we've always loved from a DKC, yet so original!!!
You know during the scene where the owls smashed a banana and DK and CK reacted I could imagine this.

I'm 26 years old and my wife bought me a WiiU for Christmas this year. I grew up playing my SNES, and Nintendo 64 any chance that I had. I can remember unwrapping Donkey Kong Country Christmas day in 1994. I was absolutely taken in by everything that this game had to offer. I loved it. I would play through it over and over again even though I was only 9 / 10 years old. I can still remember playing it so much that my thumb joints would become sore (I was 9 years old and my hands were barely big enough to hold a SNES controller properly) I still have my Original SNES with Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Donkey Kong Country 3.
I will tell you right now I will be getting up early next Friday morning and lining up out front of the store to buy this game. I'll race home to relive some of the best gaming memories I've ever had.
Keep on doing it right Nintendo.

This trailer took my breath away thanks to the AWESOME music combined with the awesome gameplay.

One of the best games many people didn't play. Also, it's nuts that people who LOVED the previous game were disappointed at this game because it wasn't metroid -_-

This game has so many impressive visuals, and is shaping up to have positively epic levels. I think DK is going to be a lot better at that than the Mario 2D platforming series. (Not to mention that the difficulty of DK will probably make it feel more epic, too). I'm loving the presentation and feel of this game so far.
And also...I'm loving that music. GREAT job by the composer.

I still get a little teary eyed at this trailer, especially the music. What an adventure, a pity Nintendo abandoned Donkey Kong as a franchise.

This game has some of the best Nintendo music and is a great game I wish they had more donkey Kong games this game got a massive amount of people to buy it
Now if only we could get Rare-style 3D platformers on the Wii U. I'd slap down money without regret if Banjo-esque games were on the Wii U. Retro's done superb with Metroid and DK; I'd love to see them bring a great open world 3D platformer like Banjo-Tooie to the Wii U.
I've had that feeling for some time too. Would be great to have a big open world platformer in Banjo tradition, perhaps with a bit of collecting too.

I didn't want to like this. Really. But damn if that trailer isn't showing a great looking game. When anyone says "Retro Studios" I still think Metroid Prime though. But this trailer shows excellent art direction and the music is well crafted. "sigh" I'll add this to the "Must buy in future" list. Strong move Nintendo, well played. You keep making my WiiU more relevant and a PS4 purchase less so.
Now...how about that F-Zero, Wave Race and 1080 Snowboarding for WiiU we talked about...
I want it. As seen the wiiu no slouch in the graphics department, it just need more games of this caliber
Am I the only one who finds it kinda surprising that Nintendo didn't bring back Wave Race on the Wii? Seems like it would have been a no-brainer choice.
TheChillarmy no you're not the only one. I've been questioning that, the lack of a 1080 on WiiU, no Custom Robo on WiiU, no F-Zero, no Advanced Wars, no Metroid Prime Hunters on 3DS... makes you wonder what's going on with Nintendo.

It's the same like in Super Mario 3D World.
At the first trailer I thought to myself only: "Cool, a new Donkey Kong Country"!
But with every new trailer it was getting better and the my hype got bigger.
This trailer is just amazing (Especially the Soundtrack!) and I'm very excited to play it!

Even if this won't be the best game 2014 (Monolith's X will probably be that one), this will most probably have the best soundtrack! David Wise from the old DKC series, and Kenji Yamamoto from the Metroid Prime series!

Nothing short of amazing. Story looks better, dk has a few new helping kongs, gameplay looks incredible. Im looking forward to this next week. Oh yeah. Two thumbs up for David Wise!
The music is beautiful. Graphic wise it's not the best on Wii U, 3D World makes it pale in comparison but it still looks very beautiful. Certainly going to be a good title for Wii U. Love the motive too. HE SMASHED THE BANANA!
I've been liking the Tropical Freeze trailers because they've had cool new gameplay elements and levels in them. The launch trailer though certainly feels more epic with this really well composed song, and a huge variety of really new and good looking levels shown is certainly great to look at. The game already looks great, and this trailer adds more of the awesomeness that Tropical Freeze has.

And so the first, older Donkey Kong fights along side with the younger, modern Donkey Kong. He may be past his prime... but in him beats the heart of the original badass who fought Mario in that epic battle so many years ago. Make way defilers of the island... You have no idea who you're dealing with!

When I watched it during the "Direct", I was very much meh/whatever because I guess coming out of all those 3DS games, you wanna see something new for Wii U.
Anyway, watching the trailer again here (much better sound/picture on UA-cam) and it looks like this game will have some pretty decent levels and a solid soundtrack as well.
The music is great, I won't deny that. But give the freaking guy that thought CRANKY needed to be playable a medal please.

Cranky Kong reminds me of Scrooge McDuck from Ducktales, especially, because of the way he uses his cane as a pogo-stick lick in the Ducktales snes game.

The only thing they could do to improve this game in a sequel is add more mine cart and rocket barrel levels. Everything else is perfect. Best boss fights ever.

This game is phenominal but I cant help but feel that sales will be imapcted because so many people wanted Metroid. It will be similar to the Wind waker on the GC. Its still an amazing game, one of the best platformers of all time.
As much as I loved the MP series, I would rather get another DK game. TF is the best platformer ever made and was a more mind blowing than playing DKC2/Mario 64 for the first time.
