@@RuksanaAhmed hey how many wage slips do I send for spouse visa if I have worked for the same employer 10 years but I get a different amount every month. The difference is a few pounds only my employment letter states I've had this salary more than 6 months? The check list says 12 but solicitor said 6 months for me

Hello, thank you for an amazing video. Just wanted to ask once you click on submit does that mean the application is in process now.

I think they begin to process the application from when you submit the application form actually but it doesn’t make sense, how can they process it before they get the documents. Because you are able to submit last minute documents during the biometrics appointment I think it makes more sense that the application is processed once you have had that

I heard they stopped doing fast track during the pandemic but I am not sure if it's back on. Before you weren't able to do it through the government site. You might want to check ukvcas, vfs global and tls contact and see if it's available on there.

May I ask you a question? You were born in the UK and you speak your parents' language which is "Bengali".
Why did you decide to learn and speak Bengali? Is it because you are thinking to migrate and settle permanently in Bangladesh?
Please don't be offended by my questions, I just want to understand your point of view.
Ah I don’t mind. Actually learning Bengali was never my choice. Sylheti was my first language because that is what my parents always spoke with us form birth. We only learnt to speak English when we began school so English is actually my second language. My English is better than my Bengali because I speak it all day everyday with everyone everything I read online and watch on tv is in English. The only people I speak Bengali with is my parents and husband. I am fluent but don’t have the same confidence with speaking it as I do English.
My parents also had us join “Bangla” school at the weekends so that we can learn to read and write. Again, wasn’t a choice but we were too young to decide. I am grateful for it now though and proud that I can read, write and speak Bangla.
I never expected to marry there and don’t ever plan to emigrate there either. The culture and lifestyle is too different. It’s much easier to adapt to life here after living there than it is to adapt to life there after living here. Especially for a female.
Is a letter from the council required for housing purpose ?
You mean council tax? None of it is a requirement. It's all optional but it does help with proving you live in the property.
Great video! Clicking on the submit is definitely nerve racking. Luckily our decision didn't take too long after the BRP appointment.

Assalamu alaikum sis, I have a good news and I desperately want to share with you. I applied for spouse visa extension on 25 february and me and my husband followed your videos and we did some research on google. My biometric appointment was 12 April and my visa is granted, i received the decision within 10 days!!!! Alhamdulillah.

I wanted to ask you if you take b1 exam for language for extension will you be able to use it for ilr as well? Do Ielts test now expire after 2 yrs ? Thank you for all guidance
Aww thank you sooo much ☺️!! Yes, so they do have an expiry on them still of 2 years but if you are using it for the next application of the same visa then they still take it. That is why we went for the B1 this time round and will use the same certificate for the ILR.

This video has been so helpful Ruksana - thank you. Just a tip for others - if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can scan documents in the Notes app. Just click the icon to create a new file, click on the camera icon which should be halfway down, in the strip above the keyboard. Then select "scan documents". If you also have an Apple computer, then you can drag the scanned file into your folder on your desktop and rename it. They are automatically created as PDFs.
Omg, I cannot believe I am just seeing his message. We have just submitted all of my husbands documents for his ILR application and we downloaded a separate scanner app this time round. Which was better than taking pictures but still, we already had the option! Can you scan multiple pages on one pdf with this method?

Hi, thanks! That's right, they aren't necessary however I do feel they help support the application hence why we added them.

Aww thanks for watching! Tbh, I’m not completely sure but I think as long as the application has been submitted, it doesn’t matter if it takes you 2 months to attend you biometrics appointment, therefore giving you more time to submit your documents. But I don’t think they can actually process the application until you’ve uploaded your documents and had the appointment cuz those documents are what they need to decided whether you have a successful application or not

I wanted to ask, how did you know your husband had his visa application approved, did you receive an email or was it only confirmed when he went to pick up his passport again? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for watching! I don't think you need to print the application at all. I did because I wanted to keep a copy of all my answers (it helps me answer comment and will help on the next application)

You can upload previous passports, I did on the first application but not on the extension. I wouldn't upload all of the pages though, just the bio page and any stamped and visa pages.

I have a question though, you know your Bank statements, did you submit head them e.g. July, August, September etc, etc? I know the bank statements it's self have the months and dates on them but each month of mine if pages long.
I'm not sure if I should sub head them or will they think some editing was done there? If I don't do that, then my bank statements do look quite complicated.
All my Bank statements are on one PDF.

Hi, I am not sure exactly what you mean. I didn't write anything on the bank statements. I just uploaded however many pages each statements was. They should know that the first 2/3 pages are for one month and then the next 2/3 pages are for the next because the first page of each month always has the heading on it anyway/opening and closing balance. The pages are also usually numbered page 1 of 3, page 2 of 3 (however many pages there are).

Also, do we need to take all of those documents (hard copies) to the appointment date for cross-checking/ verification?

Hi, I took a pic of all the documents and uploaded them from my phone. As long as the pics are jpeg/jpg, it is fine to use. You can scan them as pdf files if you like but if you don't have a scanner taking pics is the easier way.
If you upload the documents onto the website from home yourself. You do not need to take the documents with you. I would just suggest that you take yours and your partners passports and your BRP card.

Hi, thank you! I showed them the full statements but I’m sure either way is fine cuz they don’t really look at anything else, they just want to see the money has gone in. The first page with your name and address on is always good to give though cuz it matches the information you’ve given

Hi, thank you for watching! If you are uploading as a pdf file, you can condense it all into one pdf document but if you are taking pictures then you would have to upload each pic (ie. upload a pic of page 1&2, 3&4, 5&6 and so on)

Hi, cover letters are optional, not mandatory. We provided them because they can help support your application.

Is it submitting the documents? Do uou di this online or do you need to book an appointment? Im just getting anxious as the time is getting near! Hope to hear from you soon❤
Hi Anisa, we and bump are doing really well thank you 😊! After you submit the application, it will direct you to pay for your IHS fee, your visa fee and book your biometric appointment. After that you can then upload your documents, 2 days before your appointment at the latest, unless you want them to do it for you.
Hi Ruks I hope everything is going on well with your pregnancy and hope any morning sickness has gone down and you can enjoy this amazing time!! We are going to reapply in March but by that time I'll be months into the statutory govt pay and my husband also may not have a job. As I dont think they count the maternity months I think this situation would still be ok if we met the criteria before I began mat leave??
Aww thank you so much! I’ve not really experienced much morning sickness tbh, I’ve been very lucky. For me it is more fatigue and lack of energy that has got me, hence the slow uploads!
Ah yes, if you are still on your mat leave when you make the application then they will look at your income 6 months prior to your mat leave so you should be fine 😊

Hi, yes all documents must be "prior to application". Try an keep most documents less than 28 days told except for the correspondence letters of course as they need to be from the last 2 years.
As long as the application has been submitted the applicant can continue to live and work in the UK as normal, even if the BRP card expires before a decision is made. You should provide the employer with the confirmation email from UKVI with the reference number to prove the application has been submitted. It is up to the employer from there.

what date shall we put on employment letter, accommodation letter extra? is it acceptable few days or 1 week before submitting application or do we need to put dates after the application has been submitted following up biometric booking where they give 2 months time period to upload documents?

The letters shouldn't be older than 28 days of submitting the application. I wouldn't recommend dating them later.

Hi, apologies for the late reply. You should do the application form first, submit it within 28 days of the brp card expiring. Then book the biometrics appointment which you can do within 2 months of submitting the application. Then upload your documents at least 2 days before your biometrics appointment.
Hope that’s a bit more clear.

We paid around £135 for the appointment but there are varying prices depending on the time of day you are going, if you're wanting the scanning service, if it's a core centre, etc. Our price was mid range
Hi Ruksana. Thanks for uploading this video. Talking about the parts 2&3 of the Declaration. Part 2 is to be signed if me and my spouse have a joint ownership while part 3 is to be signed as per financial support. But in my case (I’m the applicant) , I’m using my financial threshold towards the application as I earn above the required, and I do not jointly own anything with my husband. Will my husband still have to sign the 2&3 declarations even though we don’t co-own anything neither him supporting me financially ? I’m confused!
Hi, this is a bit of a tricky one. I have looked into this a bit further and seen that others have said the applicant signs part 1, the sponsor signs part 2 and part 3 can be left blank.

Were your documents accepted with filenames containing spaces and underscores? I've submitted with spaces and underscores but As guidelines state that you can't use special characters but hyphen is also a special character which is confusing.

Hi, the actual files saved on my computer did have spaces, hyphens, brackets ans underscore in them but when you upload them you can name them for ukvi. Those ones I keep more simple, they had spaces but no special characters

Glad you like them. I did take photos on my iPhone but I took them in colour. It doesn’t matter if they are in colour or black and white. If your image is in colour it may help to change to black and white to reduce the size as there is a maximum size of 6mb per upload which most pics are smaller than anyway

Hi, sorry I never did an application for a child so I can't say what documents you would need for that. You might want to check with a solicitor.
Hi Ruskana, You got me and my wife through her original application and I am doing the extension so came back to the name I trust. The only thing I say is you can compile All of your photos into one image to make the uploading a bit easier. There are online PDF and Image compilers that you can use for free. Thanks for all the help. Will you be making an ILR video when it comes around?

Hi thanks for watching! Yes you can. You don't have to scan them at home if you don't want to/can't. You can get them scanned at the biometric appointment. I know there are different services available for different prices so just make sure you are booking the one that has the scanning facility.

Just checking- can bank statements be the ones that we can download from online banking or do we need to try and get the documents signed/stamped(as what people seem to do in the past)? I figured that as everything is online- we could just upload the online statements however we are going down the savings route so wanted to double check. Did you write any descriptions on the life event photos pdf e.g.' Holiday X, June 2021' written at the bottom? You are an absolute lifesaver! God bless you!
Hiya! As everything is online these days, you can just download the pdf and upload that straight away. Many banks don’t stamp or sign anymore.
Because I put my images on a word documents I was able to write at the top “Eid 2021” or “Paris October 2019” etc but I also named the actual saved file the same and I put those names in the description so you don’t have to write it at the top as long as the file is saved as that and you put that as the description, it’s more than enough.

Just so I am clear... we should fill in the application form from the Gov website application then go to UKVCAS and upload the documents? At that stage we book the biometric appointment. Hi, so yeah. Fill the application online, it will direct you to the ukvcas website where you will book your appointment and then you can upload your documents on that site. He did take all the originals just in case they wanted to look through it but it does say that you don’t have to. The people there are just to scan your documents, they aren’t part of the home office I don’t think anyway.
I always keep a hard copy so I can make these videos and also cuz it reminds me of what I provided/what order etc so May as well take that in.

We have lots of cohabitation documents however one big issue is that my bank statements and my wives bank statements are in my parents address(we lived there first) and forgot to change them to our current rented property- I was planning on writing a specific letter just to address that point; do you think there is anything else we can do? I thought about changing the address now but thought it was too late and looked calculated. We are using the savings route so are a bit worried as the statements make up the financial evidence.

Hmm, that is strange. I'm sure I read somewhere on their website that the biometric appointment can be booked within 2 months of submitting the application and it does say on the website that they need to be submitted 48hrs before the appointment.
I know someone who has had a successful visa after booking a biometric appointment 2 months after submitting their application and uploading their documents a week before the appointment. So I'm unsure where the 10 days comes from 🤷♀️

Hi, thanks for watching. If you don't want to or can't scan your documents at home then you can take your documents to the biometric appointment and they will scan them there. I think there is a fee for the service and all biometric appointments have a different price so just make sure that service is available for the biometric appointment that you book. There is a number on the UKVCAS website (where you will book the appointment) so you can always call them and ask also 😊
Good day! I found your videos really helpful, I just want to clarify coz I notice you send it one by one even the pictures. And even payslip etc.
if I will send some documents like pictures can i put it in just one pdf file? Ex 1 pdf file with 5 pages as long as it won't exceed the 6mb?

Hi, that was because I took photos rather than PDFs and I wasn't sure how to combine them into one document. Since this video, I have uploaded the ILR documents and you will see in that that I did upload those as PDFs and combined a few pages in one document. As long as it does not exceed 6mb, they're fine to upload.

Hi, they should scan your documents for you as you have paid for it. Just make sure to take all the hard copies with you. You don’t need to scan anything.

Thank you, glad you found them helpful. You can apply 28 days before expiry at the earliest up until the day of expiry at the latest. We applied somewhere in the middle as I was waiting for all my documents to come through but I had started the application about a month before, just didn't hit submit until I had everything.
Thanks for all the advice and guidance. I just had a question, what if we already have the documents on our harddrive can we directly upload them or do we have to print them off first, scan them and then upload them, which is what I had to do the first time when I applied for the spouse visa?

No need to print them. Just upload them directly. The only things you might want to print is ones that you might have to sign and then upload them again once the signature has been done.

HI Ruksana thank you for all the work you put in on these videos I recently applied we just did our biometrics yesterday and I'm a little concerned about the passport I scanned the Id page fiancee visa page and stamps from all trips but not every page do you believe I needed to scan every page of both passports?
Hi, I think it will be enough. This is what I did the first time round and it was fine. Someone recently said they did this and got their visa so don’t worry too much

Hi Thanks for the response , sorry about the delay in responding back. We recently discovered my wife passport has expired and to reapply is due in few months. Will there be any issues with her application, also will the passport be stamped to say she has her extension or will she receive email or letter to confirm its been approved.

Hi, I did reference to some documents but it was more of a summary like I spoke about where I work, my job title and my basic annual income and then mention all the documents that I will be providing to show that I meet the requirements. I did the same for the accommodation section.

His visa expires in mid August, I have started the application but at what point should the IHS surcharge and the application payment be paid for? Can I do this now? Hiya, it's all in the video. You pay for the IHS fee, visa fee and book the biometric appointment once you submit the application. You have up to 2 months after submitting the application to book the biometric appointment. Yes, it's right that you have to make the application within 28 days of your brp card expiring. So the earlier is 28 days before and the latest is the day of expiry. We applied somewhere in between and booked the biometric appointment as soon as we were both available (not that I was allowed in in the end). Best of luck!

Yes, I took pics of the empty pages too. I have heard you don't have to and I didn't with the first application (because we had to submit hard copies the first time and that's a lot of paper) and it was fine.

1. What is cover letter. Is it necessary to write cover letter?
2. I'm earning more than 20,000 from my first full time job I have been working here for last 2.5 years till present, but I have also joined another part time job in Jan 2022. Should I mention just first full time job in visa application or part time job as well ?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. You may not need my help anymore but just i me case…
1. A cover letter is just something that you might want to write in support of your application. Like you do for a job application (cv and cover letter). It’s not necessary and who knows if they even bother to read it, they’re too busy with the volume of applications. But I as lasts like to provide one, it definitely doesn’t harm the application and it gives you the chance to fight in favour of your application and explain what evidence you’ll be providing for each section.
2. It’s up to you if you want to show both but if your first job covers it, then you don’t have to show your second job. I’m sure it asks about how you meet the financial requirements and you meet it with that one job. If you’re salaried at your main job and you get less one month for any reason during the 6 months then they will multiply your lowest wage slip by 12 to get your annual income. So just bare that in mind if your salaried and have a lower wage one month. The second job might be worth mentioning in that case. Also, they can cross check things with banks, hmrc, workplaces, etc (not always) but if I was them, cross checking and learnt that you had a second job, I’d wonder why you didn’t mention it at all. If you’re keeping that a secret, what else aren’t your telling me about…so personally I would mention it to avoid any thoughts like that
Hi Ruksana, thanks for the information very helpful. I have seen you have uploaded documents printed in colour whereas the requirements say that these documents should be in grayscale or black and white and not in colour. Is it okay to upload the colour documents?
Hmm, I don't know where you read that in the requirements. I know it does say at the beginning that you can upload in grayscale if you wish to reduce the file size. It clearly worked out fine for us so colour is fine.

Hi Ruksana, congrats on your new born just seen the videos. I am confused on the correspondence for the relationship evidence we are due to submit 1st Nov. is the following enough based on my spouse arriving Feb2019: Joint Bank Statements every 3 months since 2019 till 3rd Oct 2021, Joint Gas bills - 3 in 2019, 3 in 2020, 2 in 2021 but they cover the whole year the company only gives statements quarterly, Joint Council Tax bills - 1 in 2019, 1 in 2020 and 1 in 2021, Joint Water Bills 2 in 2019, 2 in 2020, 1 in 2021 but they cover the whole year the company only give statements twice a year. Is that enough or do I need to add more as its not spread evenly?
Thank you! All your correspondence letter look fine. Done worry too much about dates being close together or anything. It’s just a guideline. As long as you have 6 documents in joint names covering the last 2 years then that’s all you need and you clearly have more than that 😊
