Thanks so much. I must comment about death: so many times we are saddened that someone passed. We all die, as Jim Morrison put it, "no one gets out of here alive", so death is inevitable, it's how we die that matters: saved or unsaved. Death is the beginning of a new life, an eternal one, either with God or separated from Him. I do recall those first years of drumming to Beatles and everything else from the 60s as it was happening. It wasn't until I played with a band that it all came together.
A few of my friends and I are in a band, and we're playing this song. Thanks for the video man! It's really helped me get down the drumming in this song, as I was having trouble learning it by ear (which is what I do for most songs). Great video man! Keep em coming!
Nice cover..that hi-hat sounds just about right. I have a pinetech/roland combo with 25 pieces so I can tell the difference.....regardless I have to say it IT DOES..IT MOST DEFINATELY DOES NEED COWBELL NOT MORE JUST SOME, no need to omit a crowd's favorite. Cheers...and keep on drummin'
Thanks. Well that's how I started, playing with my fingers on school desks driving the teachers crazy, and on the kitchen table with my mom saying: "what's the matter, you nervous?!!", "no mom, I'm just playing along to a song in my head."
How do you not have like 10000 Subscribers You have one of the best drum covers on youtube , and they always have nice clear sound as well as a nice angle AND IN HD like really? Good job man totally Jealous of your talent
Great cover. You were looking pretty pleased with it around 4:25, deservedly so. A big hit for 1976. Sadly, BOC founder Allen Lanier passed away last week, RIP. Thanks for another memorable post. I'm still drumming, with a 2-song repertoire so far, working on 3. You may not remember trying to rock that first song, but it really feels great when it all comes together for the first time. Thanks for putting it out there for us!
@Maclolp Well thank you so much, I appreciate that, and I hope that my drumming covers, jams, & tutorial videos help you in your pursuit of drumming. Thanks for subscribing.
@@rhythmantic I have a TD-8 Roland drum module... U sound great. The timing and the fills are what I need to learn. I wish I had an acoustic kit, but my hardware is in NY and i am in Las Vegas. YES, I thank you for helping other drummers like me...very helpful. I m digging Blue Oyster Cult.....
@@bcdigiart141 Sure Bruce, glad to help. I'm originally from Brooklyn NY, and I had a feeling with a name like yours you might have a connection to NY. Keep drumming!!!
Thanks for sharing that. I never gave the lyrics, like many songs, center stage, I'm impacted first by the music, and if I get the lyrics later on, well, so be it.
@rhythmantic I listened to the studio version and your were right in the pocket. There was a very slight variation as you said (I really couldn't figure it out) but I truly like what you did better than the actual song. It flowed better in my opinion. I don't get hung up on on exact lick for lick anyways but more the style of the drummer being played which you always capture. Again, great cover and it will be one of my learning tools if can hopefully get to it....Your friend...Nick
Great song selection. This one is in my bucket list to learn. I like all of your fills. The one that caught my ears was the short one at 1:36 because of the time change. I don't know if it is in the studio version like that as I haven't listened to it that closely but if it's not it should have been. Very nice...This is going in my playlist...Nick
@TerryV1981 Very good, hope it works out for you. I use Vic Firth Jo Jo Mayer, 5A, Steve Smith, SD4 Combo or Regal Tip Rock, all wood tip. As for thrones, try DW, Gibraltor.
@readyeddy101 Thanks Nick. Yea, this has always been one of my favorites since I first heard it back in the 70s. I think that fill is a variation of what I thought I heard on the original. I decided that I wasn't going to duplicate the fills exactly, only the groove patterns but with a heavier pocket.
don't fear ...I was cow belling along. that was aweswome. i just been learning the solo on guitar...now the drums...good seeing you play it..its not as hard as it first sounds on the record...still a lot to practice though. you nailed it here. 10 years ago...are you still rocking out with a roland
It's a Roland V-Drums TDW-20 module with TD-12 pads and VH-12 Hi-hat with an extra tom and cymbal pad, triggering, on this cover, a kit from Addictive Drums. Thanks so much for watching.
hi bud . my band has just decided to cover this song there was a few things i wasent sure how to play it , but watching you i got it , thx alot , great job (Y)

No, no, Thank you for doing a great cover of it. English Isn't my mothertongue, hell its my 3rd language but when ever some lyrics intrigue me I look them up :) Thanks again for doing the song justice by this cover.
Nice Job Sal. Ritchie Castellano (guitarist for BOC) often does live streams. He recreates songs from scratch from famous artists and records the whole process. Last week he did Carry on wayward son with his drummer Andy. He's worth checking out.
@Rimshot247 Thanks. Rush is in the works...Limelight, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions and New World Man are what I'd like to cover. I'm a little hesitant to spend a lot of time and effort to cover these songs and only to have YT block my videos due to copyright issues. I've heard that Rush tunes are stiff copyrights.

I'm a beginner drummer. I want to jam out one day like this. Thank you for this🙏
I still think it needs more cowbell
Jackson Mack I loved that SNL skit
I have a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell
There was only one cowbell player, so I guess you get another one. And would it be epic?
It sounds good, but I agree that it need a bit more
I've never felt this song the way you enter the chorus, It's better this way!
You are really a great drummer
Thanks.
Just watching people play awesome songs, makes me so happy.
I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this video!!! I can't stop watching it and now I want to purchase a set of e drums!
+Matthew Foster Well thank you for checking it out and it's a blessing to inspire others to want to drum.
Truly inspiring. Great song and magnificent drumming. Can't play but love watching. Thank you for sharing.
+Larry Jennings Well thank you Larry for your kind, encouraging comments and for checking out the video and subscribing.
I had no idea how intricate the drum routine was for this song until I watched this video. Amazing job! The electronic drums sound great BTW
Smooth as glass as usual, great job 5/5. My New Years resolution, I've really got to start practicing more.
Thank you. Yes, practicing - you and me both! Keep drumming!!!
Beautiful professional drumming !😊

Arguably the best ever rock song, played superbly by Sal D’Amato.

@Parpishieee Thanks and for subbing. Cool think about edrums is that I could place a cowbell trigger wherever I want on the kit.
You're amazing...Good job sir!!!

Sick bro maybe one day i will play this
Thank you, you are so kind. You've given me an idea...to do a video with so much cowbell that is so overbearing that folks request "less cowbell" :D
