What a great channel, I have been watching a while now and have enjoyed every episode. I am a similar age to yourself, I have worked in sales all my life but my fortunes changed at the beginning of C19 and I packed in the city job. I have always been into cars and I have been thinking of doing something similar to you but have never really know how to start. Your channel is probably going to give me the confidence to give it a go. Thanks.

The cocktail stick is one of my go-to tools. I dunk the stick then clean off all the excess off, on the pot neck, then use the stick like a pen, works wonderfully every time and because you clean the stick down you don't get that 'pooling', i.e. a 'blob' which can be obvious once dry.
@@WattsOnCourt Cotton wool would leave loads of fluff in the paint! It would look just like a woolly aphid crawling across the bonnet. Hello from Ireland again, Sam. Great thinking about that Pub Sign, I think that Mitsubishi Outlander is very nice, Sam. Keep up the great work bruv. 🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another cracking episode Sam! With the Discovery, you can only do your due diligence and take a punt.... with a FSH and good margin I reckon you'll do just fine. The grey metallic really suits it too! The pub advert is genius.... I look forward to hearing of the first purchase! 👍
Great vid Sam. Have seen all 5 now and have subscribed, this is now one of my favourite channels. Good luck to you. I did mention before it would be good if you could explain a little about the jargon i.e cap good. What is the deal with the auctions? I thought it was "sold as seen" but your first Discovery a few episodes ago they gave you back £900. Can you claim again on this one - surely they would have known about the faults as well if they come up in a one minute check on a diagnostic machine, seems a bit underhand to sell a vehicle with easily checkable faults? Also it would have been great to see some of the auction.
Brilliant, thank you for watching! At the auction there are usually some assured checks on the car that the auction house does and if anything appears to be incorrect on that report then you have a certain amount of time to notify them and they will usually rectify them or offer to take the car back. BCA is 24 hours, Manheim is 7 days. Fortunately I got my claim in within 24 hours as the light came on 6 miles out from collecting it! I can only claim once. Sadly some people will clear all the codes before sending the car into auction and therefore these won't show up on their checks until its been driven a few miles. Unfortunately, they really don't like you filming at auctions otherwise i'd document the whole bidding war! I'll explain some jargon as I go so stay tuned!
@@WattsOnCourt Cheers thanks Sam for the detailed reply. It would be great if you could explain the pitfalls and things to look out for on the vids. Anyway I'm looking forward to episode 6!
I watched another video today from Vision Prestige where he showed a huge amount of Range Rovers of every description going through the auction for peanuts. There were dozens of them and they all failed to reach bottom book by some distance. The bottom has indeed fallen out of the market and I would suggest you get rid fast. Sell it as it is and be prepared to take a hit.
When you read faults you should always clear them first then drive the car to see if they reappear you may well be seeing old faults that have been fixed but not cleared.
Yup, I do that unless its going into a garage the following day. I've had this and they've not seen the fault and I drive it away and it's come back on 2 miles down the road!
I find the cars a lot better with Manheim as the cars come from good reputable dealerships around here. Pricing may be a little stronger than BCA but everything I have bought from BCA has been thrown into the auction by a dealer who doesn't want the car because of various issues and it's then up to me to deal with. I wont be buyig BCA for a while
Avoid wet belt ford engines unless you want a world of expense changing oil dipped perished belts or risky brake pump failure. Also don’t touch 1.2 puretech engines, you already picked up landdrover jaguar 2l engines cost a fortune to repair.
