@@harleyross1975 In the US Scion called their version of this car the FRS, and when that brand went under it then became the Toyota GT86

I think you have more fun driving a slow car fast then a fast car slow if you catch my drift… 🤣 the brz/86 is the perfect example but it’s one 🔥 looking car
This is gonna cause some controversy but MCM really are a bunch of clowns. I think they are really insecure about the fact that they aren't the top dogs on the UA-cam car scene anymore even having cracks at channels like 4WD247 which have nothing to do with them. Moog was running slower times in his Lotus than what people with stock power NC MX5s run around SMP so them saying "It should handle it's so slow" is kind of a meme.
Yeah, they do cater to a lot of people, their little jokes and cars as well as projects are make to cater to a lot of people. I love their content simply because it’s so easy to watch. And they kind of enjoy building the same stuff I do :)
He's selling it now anyway for twice as much as he bought it

I think you'll enjoy it underpowered at the track mate. I always enjoyed under powered bikes and cars, that really have to use all of the vehicle's potential is fun. Even in drone racing nowdays the best racing is underpowered spec races where you just have to hold it full throttle whole time and racing is tight and nailing every line count's between win or loss.
That is exactly right mate! Learning to drive something like this in comparison to my 33 will be something completely different, but allow me to build a lot more skill as a driver! Stoked☺️🤙
@@ZacBaldy I think you'll have a blast mate! They are fun stock on a track just due to skinny tyres and suspension set up, slides very controllably and confidence building for sure. Not the best to modify really but you don't need much done to it for it to be fun on track that's the best thing.

You’ll never flip it for a profit with zero service history and a repairable write-off status, good car and good price but you paid what it’s worth
I absolutely love these cars, I prefer this generation to the new ones, I think the new ones are quite ugly, especially the front end. You should pick up an Invidia exhaust, either an N1 or an N2, do UEL headers, lower it a bit, nicer wheels (maybe in gold since the normal Subaru thing to do if you have a WRB car is to do gold rims), and in the future, maybe supercharge or even turbo it to get a bit more power in it! Can't wait to see what you do with this thing, as soon as I saw it on your IG Story being teased, as soon as I saw the colour, and a bit of the interior, I instantly knew what it was, and I'm very keen to see how this goes, should be a great R33 replacement. Also, you missed a car which this has something related to that you own, the Civic, it's a 4 cylinder, and like the rx7, the layout is pretty unique, as boxer engines are really only found in Subie's, Porsche's and some older french cars.

Make sure valve springs recall is done! If you want grip you better get off the Primacy Hps if still on them. Change lights front/ rear to 2017 model lights as LEDs. If torque dip bothers you change exhaust and re map. Oil gets hot on track apparently so you may need oil cooler, but enjoy revving to 6-7,500 be carful with VSC/track mode /Trc etc off unless you wanna go sideways and it will.

I totally agree with you on the exhaust point - putting a loud one is stupid for actually driving the car a lot. Did you ended up finding a quieter one, at least the names?
I used to have an 86 and I recommend the invidia Q300 catback. It's the quietest catback for the brz
Oh wow, now that's more like it Zacmyster, love the new ride. It suits you alot more than all those scary cars you used to drive. So this car diserves the best mods IMO. Start off with:
A fully hectic big ass carbon pretend race car wing off a lambo!!
Next you need Spectrum angel eye rainbow head lights, fully sick style, the P platers love these and chicks will love you!!
Next a complete slammed bag kit so you can bend out those rims at 45 degrees when the car sits on the ground at the coffee shop,killer mad as✓
Next I'm thinking liquid cooled 50,000 watt Goliath 18 inch sub that'll bounce the doors off their hinges. This will pull the kids in at show and shine.
Maybe some curtains on the rear windows cause it's like executive car!!
And don't forget twin 6inch pretend titanium wrapped exhaust tips for race car tarmac stylised coolness.
That's a good start I'm thinking I'll come up with some hectic engine mods later ;))))

I have 2013 BRZ in the same colour, which I enjoyed for several years before I supercharged it, added better exhaust and wider wheels etc. Since then it's a great fun car made even better! 😀The driving characteristics are the same except no torque dip and more power (always) and delivered in a linear fashion. If you like how the car drives but want more general power, then I can really recommend the supercharger! 😀 If you want that woosh feeling, go turbo!😀 The kits and tunes are very reliable these days and fit for track (so I'm told) or daily driving (which mine is 😀).

Supercharge it. There are some good bolt on kits to liven it up a bit. Should be a fun grip car. I always preferred the brz over the 86 because of the bar and the trimmings. Keen to see what happens in the future
Raptor supercharger kits easy bolt on and you can push 5 -7 psi and get an easy 100-200 nm extra torque and is say a good 80-150 Hp intercooled ofc

The lack of power is going to get to you sooner or later. You’ve been bitten by the bug, you love horsepower like a lot of car enthusiasts.
It’s a good looking car, it handles well but I know you will be wanting more performance out of it.
Out with the FA20, in with a 2JZ and a good sized turbo, install some suspension and get it tuned… it’ll be a a joy and it’ll take your knowledge to the next level.

After driving the new one I was surprised at how much power it had given people make it seem like it has nothing. It's obviously not a supercar, but definitely has some kick (2022 manual). But regardless of the power, it's so good to drive... an absolute blast - regardless of outright power.

I was a hater on these cars but after I sat in a mates I ended up buying shortly after and stoked with how great they are around the city. Keen to see you mod and enjoy

Yeah I think that’s the goal, I’m loving the stock exhaust at the moment but something with a litttttle bit louder note, and I’ll tune out that horrid cold start

i bought my 2013 model GTS 86 back in 2016 for $13k.
the parents bought the son the car but he lost his licence from drink driving and they wanted to get rid of it as punishment. so i bought it straight away from gumtree 😂😂

Brz has a Cool factor of zero in my opinion but each to their own..Should of held on to the 33..Will appreciate in value for years to come..
It wasn’t really about the cool factor or the money in my opinion, these cars have a great chassis and even though I don’t exactly like the look of them, I love how track ready they are as a package.

For an exhaust you should try the invidia n1. From videos i have seen they dont seem to loud but loud enough that you can hear it.

For me supercharger is better for manuals and turbo for the automatics ( as a daily driver setup ). If you're too crazy and wanna chop a couple of machines then ig go for a TURBO. The Supercharger is GREAT for daily and track and it saves much more wait. For the turbo yk what I mean, yk what you want hearing the spool , the sound , and the feeling when you get it into boost is just incomparable. I suggest you the HKS or Edelbrock for the S/C and HKS or Greddy for the T/C. Good luck on the build and enjoy the car mate !!!

I honestly believe the 86 or BRZ are the cars young people should be wasting their 10-30k on, not an S13-15, much nicer car, no rust issues, good on fuel, handles better, 2.0L engine, modern interior, not likely to have dodgy mileage. The list goes on.
After driving it around for a few weeks, I 10000% agree. And really understand why people do, these would be a brilliant first car for anyone wanting to get into driving
