You knew it? 99% on people (including me) wasn't aware of this possibility! That's why it's so important to share how to grow nepenthes on a windowsill :D
@@WindowsillNepenthes yes you are right, it is really nice that you are showing people how it is entirely possible to grow these bizarre plants on your windowsill!
Dang, that is one beautiful Nepenthes Hamata! Beats my windowsill Nepenthes Mirabilis hybrid which is recovering from my February trim and has only put out one small pitcher over the last month. But now I have another tendril on the way and am considering lamp lights, after this guy's success!!
This interview was really eye opening. I've been planning to move most of my collection out of a terrarium and onto a window but I've been worried about the temps and humidity. Seeing that he was able to do this with hamata of all things makes me a lot more confident. Most of my neps are intermediate hybrids so I think I have a solid chance. Thanks for another awesome video!
Happy to share this knowledge! If you adapt them slowly it should be just fine ;) And maybe in 6-12 month, you will be so successful that I'll be able to interview you haha
Yes if 2 lamps are enough why not and also just started thinking about coco husk mb ill trust ron and get some and try it if he say it’s good why not :^)
Thanks to both Ron and Remy! I have just bought both a baby Hamata and Rajah which I am currently growing in a similar terrarium, in similar temps/humidity, on a windowsill! So it's good to see proof that it can hypothetically work!
Wow, i didn't know that was possible! Hamata is such an incredible species, what this grower did it's just amazing. Thanks for this interview! I hope you can get your Hamata soon, i really want to see all the progress and how do you manage to acclimate it!
That is amazing his plant is so big. I can't grow highlanders. I live in Florida and it's too hot. But indoors with lights perhaps following his instruction could work for me? I don't know. They are an expensive plant if I mess up and they die but I have been wanting one for years now.
Thanks for the video! I would love it if you could start adding the temperature zones of these homegrowers to the titles. I live in Europe and know nothing about US climate or which states are close to my temperature zone. Thank you!
Yes, a lot of people grow them like you ;) But it's way more expensive that on windowsill. The fact that it's possible opens a world of possibilities :D
Yeah i use lights from dollar tree that was 2 lights for a dollar one for my big nepenthe's alata and 2 for my cactis/lithops amd they are doing amazing.. my buddy grows marijuana with dollar store lights.. glad someone else does that for nepenthes..
Interesting simple led can be used too !!! I guess it’s all about output kelvin. He’s growing sundew under led and sundew becomes red only when it gets abundant light .
