Beautiful species good job
Thanks.
You have an amazing green thumb
Thank you, only for these plants though. I can't grow tomatoes to save my life 🤣
lovely video❤
Thanks
I just made a video about hanging Nepenthes in a tree, I got the idea from your outside fence tour!
They do well here in Sydney. But there's still alot of species I wouldn't try outside.
@@Eat-Me-Exotics I don't have the option of keeping them in a greenhouse or inside, so outside is my only option
@@australiancarnivores yeah I think that's probably the majority of people. I'm trying to show that they can be grown outside with out all the fancy GHs and lights etc. It's just a matter of choosing the species or hybrids to suit your environment.
@@Eat-Me-Exotics I don't really care about what the species needs, if it survives, good, if it doesn't, that's bad LOL
@@australiancarnivores that's a fast way to make a very expensive hobby even more expensive 😅.
It doesn't take much research to figure out what plants will take a wide range of conditions and work with those species or hybrids. Most thinks with ventricosa, veitchii, maxima or truncata should grow no problem for you for a good starting point.
Your plants are looking gorgeous my friend! Big fan and keep up the great work!!
Thanks mate, it's definitely getting there. I can't wait to see how they go over the next few years now I've got the greenhouse properly set up.
Love it!!!! Looks amazing & I love the healthy green sphagnum growing in all the pots. Where do u get ur sphagnum from?? I’m trying to grow live moss ATM from dry. Great video as always 👍👏🏻👏🏻
I use to get it from Australian orchid nursery before they closed down. I think triffid Park sells small packs of live moss, unfortunately you won't get far trying to grow it from the dried bunnings stuff.
Love your Neps! Do you have a pure Alata Nep. ? Thanks from Canada
Thanks, no I don't have have alata. I got one years ago but as usual it was actually nepenthes ventrata. I wouldn't say it's one of my favourites so I've never really chased it down either.
Man you have so many cool pure species! I want aristolochioides so bad I've got like 5 hybrids but can't find pure aristo. Also impressive you've got that huge Rajah in that space lol it looks like it's enjoying it.
Been years chasing down some of those species and then years to get them to that size 😂. Aristo is really hard to come by, hopefully becomes easier over the next few years.
Yeah the rajah exploded in the past year I actually need to repot it, just trying to find a suitable pot for it.
@@Eat-Me-Exotics lol pretty soon you can just repot it into a laundry basket that thing is a monster!
@@ElmoRitter hahaha probably not a bad idea. My big issue is where I'm going to put it to grow 🤣
I think Kajuwa orchids and Carnivero have some at the moment.
What substrate do you use or recommend for lowii? I know they really need good drainage, 50%< perlite. I’m about to get my first lowii soon and yours seem to be doing great!
Cheers they are coming along. I've got mine in equal parts akadama, kanuma and pumice. Being so slow growing I don't want to have to worry about media breaking down and having to repot them too often, also with an inorganic media when it is time to repot you can avoid alot of root disturbance before you can leave the old media on and just upside the pot.
Could you share a video bout seeds sowing or seedlings? Your collectios its great and cool
It is in the works, I'm just waiting on some seed pods to ripped and then was planning some videos on the various stages from seed through to a reasonable size plant with care tips for each stage.
@@Eat-Me-Exotics nice!
you need mirrors on the grow table and on the side wall help with the lighting system if you didnt plan on buying more lights
I have space blanket over the dark walls in my old greenhouse. I have loosely planned to put a reflective layer in just the logistical night mare I'm trying to avoid 😅
