A car is like a woman .. if you’re going back and forth on rather you should sell your car , that’s probably the answer. Going all in on a car that your Iffy on is a no for me because then your resell value is shot since it is an auto you will always have lower value.. all in all sell it / move onto something that sparks joy .. if the thought of you going all in don’t spark joy , you got your answer

Option 1 - Based on your experience with the C5, it would be best to sell it and buy one that is in better shape (without the electrical issues) and that you only need to change oil and tires on. This would give you a better starting point for your project.
Option 2 - go all in. Based on my C5 experience, working to make it reliable and to pass NYS emissions, it will take a lot of money, time, tools and research. You can do it but you have to be willing to do it. If you are not willing to go through the growth pains to get to your C5 goal build then see Option 1.
