@@cheetahturner4576Sabonis was 7’3” and big. Not skinny at all and Shaq could not push him back like he did other centers.
Shaq had 5 less points per game against the Blazers in the West Finals then the rest of Shaqs playoff games in the 2000 playoffs. That was the time when they were rigging games for the Lakers for ratings.
@aaronbuster5665 casual youtube sheed throws towel in face in ssbonis u know why shaq dunked on his head power dunk had him off ground shaq was 40lbs bigger than sabonis
I was rolling with Sheed for the first 30 seconds until he said Dale Davis is "just as strong" as prime Shaq. 🤣
4:50.... HOW DELUSIONAL CAN A MAN BE TO THINK HE WOULDED GO HOME IN A BODYBAG AFTER A FIGHT WITH SABONIS?????
Sabonis would knocked him out!! COLD
Sabonis was one of the two centers who you'd have to be absolutely insane to get on the bad side of. The other being David Robinson.
I remember watching that live. I'm such a huge fan of Sheed n' Sabas and that was a rough thing to see as a Blazers fan.
They had Jermaine O'Neal guarding Shaq a few times and that actually was a decent approach to not have Sabas get into foul trouble early. Jermaine held his own in bursts. But Shaq in that era was unstoppable in the long run. Oofta.
This what i been wanting to know!👍🏽
I wish we would have gotten prime sabonis in the NBA. He was a legitimate monster in his younger days. By the time we got to see him play in the NBA his knees and hips were already going bad and he was nowhere near as mobile
If da Blazers woulda had Sabonis in his prime,,, they most likely beat da Lakers. IMO
@vittirowashington5211 Don’t make excuses, they should’ve & could’ve beat them regardless of that.
A prime Sabonis...the first Bulls 3-peat may not exist.
Most definitely. Sabonis was a beast. I loved watching him play!
@@2H2521 I made no excuses, I gave an opinion. An excuse is as such: The Blazers lost because they had an old Sabonis.
Me n my girl beefing too.. I ain't getting no cheeks tonight! 😔😂 I'm on da bs let's go
Not.
In Sabonis’s defense he was clumsy asf, and Dale Davis was strong but he was barbecue chicken for Shaq.
I mean Sabas was 36 at this point and had surgeries on both ankles, both knees and his back behind him, of course he got cooked by prime Shaq 😅 He had some good games against Shaq throughout his NBA career though.
When he wasn't throwing towels at teammates he was getting technicals and ejected from games. Straight hothead in Portland, to the point of almost being a liability. Everyone in the league got knocked 5 feet backwards when shaq turned and hit them with that elbow
Sabonis is my favorite player of all time, but he was old and broken down at this point in his career. Dunleavy should have never put Sabas in that position for as long as he did. Having to play a prime Shaq for 30+ minutes per game in a 7 game series, I'm sure he was always trying to find a way to get Shaq in foul trouble. He definitely should have played guys like Dale Davis & Jermaine O'Neal more.
@stanakkkeran Dale Davis wasn’t even on the Blazers that season & Jermaine O’Neal was barely in their rotation.
@@2H2521 I'm talking about once Davis was on the roster in 2001. Plus, Jermaine should have been in the rotation. He was a bigger and better athlete than Brian Grant. Dunleavy didn't like playing young players.
@@stanakkerman2386 The Blazers did absolutely nothing to develop
Jermaine O’Neal, he was young & inexperienced, don’t forget he came straight out of high school & was the youngest player ever drafted at the time. He was also gone by the time Davis got there, pretty sure they were actually traded for each other.
@@2H2521 they were traded for each other. That's my point exactly. Dunleavy should have given Jermaine more time and a spot in the rotation. They never should have traded him to begin with.
@@stanakkerman2386 Your comments made no sense, couldn’t tell if you were talking in past tense or current tense for the time especially while discussing the 2000 WCF series against the Lakers. And don’t forget Shaq slaughtered Dale Davis in the 2000 Finals when the Lakers played the Pacers.
If only a young and strong Arvidas went to the league earlier than expected.
When Karl Malone knocked out Brian Grant’s teeth the softness of Sheed and the rest was evident. They folded up the rest of the series. Sabonis was one of the few guys strong enough to hold Shaq a bit. Sabonis and Oliver Miller were the list.
When you have been judged by the content of your character all along
Rasheed back then Did not have the size to defend Shaquille O’Neal
Sheed wasn't goin to beat up Sabonis! He's trippin big time!!
I have always been a Lakers fan living in L.A. but I really like that Portland Team.
So Sabonis was only 7'1-2? I thought he was 7'3-4
That blazers team was nice , the west was stacked back then
I always believed that Rasheed is an attention seeking overemotional child. I specifically remember watching on TV a game where his mom was present, I think it was in Philadelphia. It made an impression on me the way she was provoking the crowd, being obnoxious and attention seeking. That says a lot.
Rasheed, sos el más guaso de todos. Gracias por ese equipo hermoso de los blazers que me hizo ilusionar hasta el último cuarto contra los lakers.
Dale Davis was strong as Shaq😂😂. Sabonis was about 7'3 290lbs of muscle. And Shaq was moving him effortlessly. He might not have flopped.
That was the most disgraceful basketball move
Why did it take 20 years for Rasheed to answer this question. If he would have apologized to Arvydas, he might not have retired. 😢😢😢
I Love Sheed, but he wasn't doing anything against that Euro Monster, he's tripping.
Shaq never shot anything left handed. He shot that right hook over his right shoulder on people
I remember Shaq being faster than Sabonis but not stronger. And Dale was weaker but gave Shaq a different look cause he had some strength to contend while being smaller but still the blazers needed both. To me the weakest link was Stoudamire who felt a liability on D.
Agree that it would have been a bad decision on Sheed's part, for a number of reasons. But still, love Sheed and love the story.
Coming face first is pause of the century
Protect Sheed at all costs
The key word being ALMOST. Certainly, Sheed did not want it with Arvydas.
Good to see Horry’s son getting into the podcast space
Sabonis would of knocked the frosting off you
Sheed is way more sociable since he's been retired. Never was that talkative and sociable during his career. 🏀🏀
I like Rasheed, but, Sabonis was beating olympic weightlifters at the 92 olympics in armwrestling, according to Jack McCallum's book on the dream team and I read his bench press was somewhere around 500 pounds, if I'm not mistaken. He has around 3 or 4 inches on Rasheed , outweighs him, and is stronger, problably a lot stronger. I don't think "Sheed really wants that smoke. It's good they were able to get past it. I get why he was mad.
Shaq saw all those cats as bar b sue chicken.. Sabots was 58 when was with Portland, in his prime prime it would be different because he was a badd cat, Sheed knows nobody was seeing Shaq back then.
Love Sheed in many ways but why did he try to bully the Bulls as a rookie? What happened? He practically picked a fight with Luc Longley and Jordan came over and told him to basically get away. A rookie!
This shit mad funny 🤣 Sheed a real OG
Rasheed might be a nice person off the court but on the court them emotions may be taken too far and the refs would T him up.
I had to google Dell Davis cause i know he couldn't be talking about Dale Davis just as strong as Shaq lol
After LeBron, Sheed's my favorite player of all time. I wanted him to retire a Blazer but always felt like if the 76'ers put him with Iverson they would've won a title. We win it all in 2000 if that b**** a** ref doesn't eject Sheed for looking at him.
They ain’t your homie if they don’t clown on you 😂😂😂
Sheed dope. Funny as hell
I thought he was Rey say he fucked up the coverage or smn😂
Antonio Harvey's version of events are just a bit different

Cmon dale wasn’t guarding Shaq. And as big as bonis is ain’t no way he gonna whoop his ass
Need to get Arvydas on the pod!
Beginning of the end for the blazers
