For only 2 years no trim the amount of damage wasn’t a lot. Her hair looks so healthy, thick, bouncy and shiny🤩🤩🤩. Looks like she’s doing a pretty good job with taking care of her. Good job with helping her start her new hair journey.

Annie Doe 😂😂you are a fool if you think she was doing a good job. Her hair is damaged bad, and only look good afterwards. You are the type that will walk out of the salon with no trim even you though your ends are dying just to save some weak lengths.

Same here. I know it's keeping my hair from growing but I can straighten it and trim. Also, it's hard to find a stylist that really knows how to take care of natural hair in my area. I see she is coming to my city in March. Where do you book an appointment?

V.Lewis You not getting the trim will not stop your hair from being longer, it will continue to grow with or without trim.

Hair doesnt grow at the same rate. Uneven ends doesnt automatically mean damaged or split ends. A blunt cut is simply more anesthetic but it doesnt translate to bad hair. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I feel the same way about thin hair (low density). There are so many people who can't seem to understand that some people's thin hair is genetic. Their hair is still healthy, and no product or certain care will make it thick; it's genetic.

It’s hard to find a good salon in some places. So I think it’s very common not to get proper trims when you are natural. I don’t want to spend 4 hrs in a salon or be stuck under a dryer because they overbook. The best stylist I ever had had a one chair suite and your appointment time was a real appointment, but I’ve since moved states. High quality stylists aren’t in every region unfortunately.

Alina Mitchelson everyone’s hair is different. No matter how well I take care of my hair I’m prone to breakage/uneven growth at the top. It’s still long and healthy most of my hair but it happens. Maybe it’s tension caused by tight pony tails and buns.

Ekemini Udoh the back layer isn’t really a layer, it’s a weight line, and a guide line for the rest of the haircut, which when followed, creates an even haircut, and leaves thickness.

I never get my hair trimmed when it’s straight I always blow my hair out and let my momma cut my ends because I never straighten my hair I only put heat when I blow it out so it could get trimmed!! But her hair turned out beautiful😍😍

I get my hair trimmed every 3-4 months and my hair whenever it grows out ends up with thin ends. What am I doing wrong? How can I grow my hair with a thick hemline?

Is it absolutely necessary to flat iron hair before trimming? I'm in dire need of a trim but my hair is super fragile and I avoid heat of any kind.

Can someone explain to me, empirically, how uneven/“see through” ends automatically translates to damage and not just different rates of growth…?

I haven’t had a professional trim in a long time either. I honestly want to give myself a blunt cut (like taking off 3 inches). Is that a bad idea.
I tried trimming it myself but I honestly couldn’t see the (see-through) part of my hair but I know I need a trim.
