when you think about the story that tells why the Witch was so attached to her collection especially the crystal she keeps on her hat what she does here makes a lot more sense: (you see when you collect all 10 flowers for the Prince and view them in the album it tells the story of the witch, it tells us why she stopped taking lives as payment and what the most prized member of her collection really is.) One day a young girl entered the Witch of the Village's home. wishing to be able to apologize to her older brother after they got into a horrible fight and she ran away from home and was attacked by a Wolf. The Witch thought this was a silly wish and told the girl to just go apologize to him. In between sobs, the girl told the Witch that her brother was dead and she could not apologize to him. The Witch stood there for a moment and recalled a boy coming in a few days prior who had wished to exchange his life to save his sister who had been ripped to shreds by a Wolf and was about to die. The Witch grabbed the crystal that contained the brother's life in it and allowed them to make amends without taking the girls life. The girl then began living with the Witch, and the Witch found that the girl was slowly changing her life for the better. She even considered not taking lives as payment for wishes anymore. Of course, the townsfolk knew that the Witch took lives for wishes and thought that the girl was part of the Witch's evil plans and they killed her. Once the Witch found out that the girl was dead she went on a rampage and used her magic to transform herself into a ginormous beast and she reduced the village to ashes. After she transformed back she took the body of the girl and transformed it into a crystal that she kept on her hat at all times she then disappeared. However, there were some rumors that there was a Witch in the center of the forest that granted wishes for certain payments. but wethor or not they were the same person was unknown.
@@Techhunter_Talon I know I'm 2 years late here responding to you, but that's right. The way the game portrays it, it wasn't so much 1 specific item as much as her "collection" was destroyed in the fire. So it's implied quite a few of her beongings were destroyed. Considering she went on so much of a rampage that she destroyed her own home, she may very well have lost everything she had.
@@CranberryFo there is more… one of her crystals from her collection was more precious than anything the Witch possessed-it was what was left of her adopted daughter. If you want more info, collect all 10 flowers, go to pause menu, click on “album”, on the left side you can see the flowers you’ve collected, for each flower there is a short chapter of “The Witch’s Tale”.
The final task is at hand, two humans stand before the flaming ashes that were once the forest. The Princess.. She's told many lies up until this point. She's had her wrongdoings, but she's willing to make it right here and now. The Prince.. Dragged onto this quest, wishes to help the princess anyway he can. Unbeknownst of what is around him. The Witch, in absolute rage, attacks them. The Prince and Princess wish to defeat this great terror, and bring the Witch to her senses.
I can't believe this sentence is going to be said, but this cute little puzzle game about a werewolf & blind child on a magical adventure of self-discovery trust friendship and possibly even love didn't need a final boss, and it's theme didn't have to go THIS hard!

I love it when you've met a character with a specific theme before and he gets a more epic version from that. This game is a hidden gem for sure.
Exactly.

THAT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE
Prince: Accidentally drops lantern and sets the forest on fire
Witch:
**You weren’t supposed to do that**
The witch: so you have chosen... death!
Didn't she lose a valued item in the blaze and that was the thing that set her off? Or is my memory of the story a tad too foggy at present?
More like "YOU DID WHAT? GRAAAAAHHHHH!"

Absolutely love the artstyle too and it shares it with another game developed by the same people, 'The Cruel King and the Great Hero'.

The soundtrack is so gosh dang good
Its amazing how much a choir can do in music *-*
Love this part of the game...
An amazing theme. My only complaint is the abrupt ending. Could have benefited from a fade out. Oh well, like it regardless.
Finally! Thank you!
