It's really great that you have a profession that you love but it's not stopping you from being a musician. If you play music in your spare time, you are a musician. Choosing music as a profession can be great but its a miserable way to top. And that's if you're in the tiny tiny tiny % who actually gets there. Im just busting your balls here

Music is almost never about talent. It's about how much work and effort you're willing to put into it. I play the trumpet for 10 years now and I would consider myself average. And I am average because I don't practice as much as I would like to.
