crying alongside with you 😭 ghibli movies are so special for so many different reasons. thank you for shaing and being so vulnerable, sending well wishes and hugs
For some reason, I didn't expect to cry when I clicked on this video. That's on me. This video is so beautiful and vulnerable, Ina. Ghibli movies have this emotional catharsis that other movies just don't capture. A big part of it is the stillness. Seeing all the greenery come back at the end of Princess Mononoke is such a beautiful unforgettable moment that can't help but draw you into the beauty of the world. Castle in the Sky can be a little all over the place, but that makes the quiet moments that much more effective. Watching the one robot walking around on Laputa is so beautiful. And that's not even touching on what's going on internally with the characters in these movies. But you summed those up so beautifully that I can't add to that. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. I hope you are doing well, and that your hard times subside soon. I'm so glad that you've still found the strength to make videos in such a hard time for yourself. But even if it goes away, remember what Kiki taught us: you can get it back. ❤ gongaga Also, you're like, pretty good at ASMR lol I'm not surprised, but I wasn't prepared hahaha
The scene where Chihiro is traveling by train is honestly one of my favorite Ghibli film scenes. There is, as you say, something meditative about it. The melancholy tones of Joe Hisaishi's piano only drives the feeling further. I have always found some comfort in trains. I think it has to do with the fact that it's really just you sitting by a window as the world passes you by. I don't know, it's special.
I think these films help me focus on The Power of Perspective.. It's so easy to get caught up in stuff nowadays. I unintentionally stumbled onto this once i started going on solo hikes in the woods with my dogs. Then someone got me a powerful flashlight & i started trying out little hikes at night. *I'm only saying that because at first i wasn't used to exploring in the Dark. So even if there was nothing to worry about, it didn't matter because in my head i was still stressing out BUT i eventually hit this point when i realized how important my perspective was directly connected to my ability to even enjoy the hike or not.. The more i explored tho, the more i improved with my observation skills & my ability to just focus on my surroundings. It started to become this sorta active decompression/meditation kind of hobby. Then all of a sudden you subconsciously notice that doing this has this positive impact on what kind of perspective you currently have.. idk how to explain it.. All I'm trying to get at is, if you can find a way to shift your internal perspective, it can have a profound impact on your ability to be able to get through anything. Even if your having to deal with something annoying, if you can somehow find a way to shift your internal perspective it can allow you to focus on things in a different way. It's sorta therapeutic. i know all of this probably sounds pretty corny but these movies remind me of this stuff because they choose to focus on & include All of these little moments of the random, mundane, in-between stuff. All of that kind of interconnects... Idk.. it's hard to explain
Kiki's Delivery Service and Sprited Away whenever I feel sad or hopeless. The determination of those two girls really helps me put things in perspective and help me to get back out of my head and back on track for what I want to do.
Most of my old movies are in a box at my moms house, but wherever I'm currently living, I always keep A bluray of Kiki's delivery service for when I need it.
I was introduced to ghibli movies with totoro sometime in the early 90s. Everytime we went to blockbuster THIS WAS THE VHS I CHOSE EVERY TIME lol. At 19, I got totoros tattooed on my feet & didn’t really think about why I even wanted them tattooed there. Now at 33, I can see that at 19 I subconsciously wanted to feel grounded/a sense of ease that everything is going to be okay. They’ll forever be there to remind me & help me to feel this way 💜💜
it's lovely how creative you get filming your video... the background, clothes that you're wearing, your posture... everything matches the theme so perfectly... feels warm and authentic.. just like another gibli movie. and ...whatever you're going through, it shall pass. keep being yourself.. 🤗🍀
I'm so sorry you're struggling - it sucks when those moments hit, especially out of nowhere. I'm glad Ghibli has been there for you and hope you feel better soon. 💗
lovely video, thank you for your openness. Ghibli movies really are a companion through life, huh? Never really thought about that till this video but its totally true. They just so completely transport you into their world, and they have... just a vibe idk. They got that handcrafted homemade feel to them, like grandma's stew or something. They do have that everything is going to be okay energy to them, like you said. Spirited Away is my favorite, saw it as a kid and it never left me.
Hey there, I wanna say I wish things will be brighter for you. Finding comfort in movies like these is such a wonderful thing. When I had hard times before I'd also often rewatch favourite comfort movies or scenes to feel lighter, to find things that give me some momentarily happiness. Ghibli movies are great for that, they really give you hope and loving characters to lean on, they make you appreciate those little moments in your daily life when nothing really happens, when you're trying to fill the void of something. Those little moments of comfort in crying freely, thinking, eating the characters get resonate with me so much. I think I might need some of this again, the days are getting a little more complicated again, thank you for reminding me. Take care of yourself and lots of drink tea! Gongaga
in 2020, Howl's Moving Castle (dubbed) was the film i repeatedly watched (still do now too). Something about the film make's it easy to get lost in, maybe it's the magic, goofy / charming characters and the humor. i think i just love how accepting and forgiving the characters (mostly Sophie) are by the end of the film with each other.♥ Sophie is my favorite Ghibli character.
Giiiiiirl, you had me crying with you as soon as I clicked on the video & I'm still crying as I type this❤ Much love to you & your family. We're all kinda having a rough time out here, I understand that. But don't think you're doing it alone cuz you're not, you have all of us here with you! Even if its thru the internet, we all love your videos & this one is definitely one of them. I love Ghibli movies too since they give such clarity to the reality of life & how to NOT give up. Feel your feels, girl. We all should.❤ Just know you're not alone. Thank you for this video & for being so real. Now, if you excuse me, I have quite a bit of tears & snot to clean up off my face from typing this. ❤❤❤❤ much love from Texas🤗
I refer to myself as a littol baby when it comes to watching any film. I cry easily, though there’s something phenomenal about taking the time to sit down, watch something, and feeling that raw empathy for a character and feeling like you know what they’re going through. It’s relieving. It’s knowing that dramatic irony from watching it a million times to know they’re going to be okay, things will work itself out in the end, or perhaps it’ll never be fixed, but they come to accept it. I hope the best for you, even as a first time watcher. You? Gongaga❤
Not me sitting down with a bowl of hot porridge bc I needed something warm and comforting in my body and then randomly starting to cry with you 😅 It's just period pain and a bit of autumn blues settling in for me thankfully but whatever it is you're going through, I hope you get to feel all you need to feel so the pain can pass through and scab and heal eventually
Damn this video hit me right in the feels, I did not expect to tear up 10 seconds in 🥺 This is the first video of yours I've been recommended, but I hope things get better for you!
This was so beautiful, you're so good at conveying ideas through word and expression. Wishing you comfort and calm when you can get it amidst whatever you're going through; quiet catharsis after a long cry; and some delicious food, warm hugs, and a good night's sleep. 💜
I too am If I sit with this trembling doubt and fear These movies about being human are very necessary to get through this Tomorrow, I need to face my doctor I needed this, thanks
I find myself gravitating to Howl's Moving Castle, especially when I'm feeling down. Sophie is just so inspiring to me. She feels her feels but still gets the job done. And definitely gets me in a cleaning mood even when I'm feeling too down to otherwise lol
Sending hugs! Thank you for sharing your lovely ideas, & I'm glad you seem to know how to explore your emotions in a healthy way. You can never go wrong with Ghibli. My comfort Ghibli movie is When Marnie Was There. It's vulnerable, cozy, & wistful. The music & sound effects are so calming. The girls' relationship resembles a kind of beautiful escapism. Just the scenes of Anna enjoying the views & exploring the marsh could put me to sleep. And if I need a good cry or a reminder to love myself, that film always hits home.
Thank you for sharing this! I feel the same way about ghibli films. It really does give us some comfort and you're right, everything will be fine somedayy :>>
Thank you for being vulnerable with everyone who watches this video, whatever it is you're going through, I hope that everything turns out ok. ❤ I loved this video. Studio Ghibli movies are great to watch when you're experiencing something negative, whether it's life throwing things at you or your emotions are powerful. I do the same watching their movies, The Secret World of Arrietty is my favorite, especially if I need comfort. Ponyo for happiness. Howl's Moving Castle if I'm feeling self conscious of my looks. I think it's mostly because we can relate to the characters on a deep level.
My first Miyazaki film was Nausicaa and second was Lupin film and then all the Ghibli films I felt like Most of his female protagonists and supporting female characters were just pluck out of my life, they reminded me of My mother my aunt my sister Nausica and the bakery owner from kiki reminds me of my mother and my aunt, kiki and chihiro reminds me of my sisters, other are family friends daughters who are basically my elder sisters and at first i was kind of taken back how close they were to real life woman in my life, I'm trying to be a writer and everytime I'm trying to create a female character i go back to Miyazaki, Akira Kurosawa and Mani Ratnam (indian film writer/Director from my country) to learn what am i doing wrong because these complete strangers somehow wrote woman who i can find around me that i know personally but i myself can't write them naturally
chihiros ginormous tears is relatable. exactly how I used to feel as kiddo when i’d cry alone and eat literally anything

I didn't know there are others who have, Kiki those emergencies
Because you're a normal person.
POM POKO IS AMAZING TO ME, LOSING NATURE AND THE NEW CITY LIFE FOR ALL OF US HERE TODAY, IT GIVES ME COMFORT AND SADNESS

The studio gibli film that most resonates with me is my neighbor totoro

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya is the only Ghibli movie I've cried to, but honestly Whisper of The Heart also got me pretty emotional.
Tale of Princess Kaguya is the happiest sad movie ever. SOOO Underrated
Agreed.
I love your videos!
As a fellow Pinoy from the homeland, you have made us all proud o7
love you, inakyu!!
I just stumbled across a side of the internet (UA-cam specifically) that is so much better than almost everything else
It's ok to not be ok 🥺🥺
Not a Ghibli Movie, but "Marcel The Shell With The Shoes On" has a lot of "Ma" in it. It's so mundane, unstimulating, and slow that it's refreshing.
Do not watch Grave of the Fireflies of you're sad or angry.
Such a lovely video, thank you for making it.
Wish Disney and modern female characters can be like this.
sending love.
I speak for us all when I say this.
REAL
gongaga
Castle in the sky made me think not all is magic.. it's helping.
Yo inakyu
Breathe in then breathe out. Regardless of what is going on,everything will be alright. 😁
My first Miyazaki film was Nausicaa and second was Lupin film and then all the Ghibli films
I felt like Most of his female protagonists and supporting female characters were just pluck out of my life, they reminded me of My mother my aunt my sister
Nausica and the bakery owner from kiki reminds me of my mother and my aunt, kiki and chihiro reminds me of my sisters, other are family friends daughters who are basically my elder sisters and at first i was kind of taken back how close they were to real life woman in my life,
I'm trying to be a writer and everytime I'm trying to create a female character i go back to Miyazaki, Akira Kurosawa and Mani Ratnam (indian film writer/Director from my country) to learn what am i doing wrong because these complete strangers somehow wrote woman who i can find around me that i know personally but i myself can't write them naturally
gongaga
i hope you get through this
i believe in you
ghibli for llife
this video is so real
its because Miyazaki doesnt hate women and doesnt idealize them either (both extremes are harmful)
Type shi 🔥 gongaga
Gongaga I’m sorry for your loss sister
You are such a great person. Warm and kind. I really hope you are doing better now. And if not, take your time. 🛀🛌🧘🍙🍫📺🧸✨💝
