People here getting personal about Pandit Ravi Shankar's affairs as if he cheated on them. His daughters clearly do not seem too salty about it. Anoushka even joked about him getting laid. Who knows what exactly happened between the women he dated, what kind of relationship they had, etc. They probably could have had an amicable relationship even. I don't think it is anyone's business to comment bitterly.

@M4st3rm1nd Well... It might be hard for a girl who's famous father travels around the world while she is raised by her single white mom in Texas. Nora is proud of her heritage but she said when she debuted she did not want the stigma of her father to make her famous. She did it herself, and she has a good relationship with the Indian side of her family.
Texas has a huge variety of cultures, so Nora was just fine there, enjoying her life.

Sure he was a womanizer but he was great in his work and being absent from Nora Jones Early life he did not influence her music and her sister he did,He created two master pieces of Musicians for that he deserved an another Grammy.

What a powerful tribute to Ravi to be so fondly remembered and well spoken of by his talented (and obviously loving) daughters.
They are so cute. Beautiful and fun testimony Anoushka shared. Really at peace with his passing, even though they must miss him so much, as we all do! He went on to moksha, liberation after this incredible life. Celebrate Ravi Shankar, whose name is celebration itself!

I definitely resonate with what they said about his belief in music bringing world peace, and moreso I believe that he had the ability to make that dream a reality. The single most pure and happy moment I ever had listening to music was while sitting down, after having a smoke and putting on a Ravi record. I think it was 'Ravi Shankar At The Monterey International Pop Festival'. I closed my eyes and could see children and women dancing. Everything around them was beautiful, as if the sky was painted with flowers and the night was never going to hide that. The feeling of contentment was strong. I could not believe the inarguable joy that Ravi's music was bringing me. No music had ever before, and has not since, given me such a powerful feeling of peace and love for this Earth. I would say 'I wish I could thank Ravi' but I'm sure he's well aware of his legacy and the impact it continues to have.
I love the music of both these incredibly talented women.
Don't know but the vibe of this video is like getting goosebumps. An Indian getting this much respect, its just so amazing. Thank you legend❤

It is said that Ravi Shankar was next to nothing as compared to his wife Annapurna Devi's talent. Due to his jealousy, she gave up public appearances. Amitabh Bachchan starrer movie Abhimaan is loosely based on their story.
@@Exiide89 "It is said", but not an absolute truth. Indian Society loves chewing such story rather than finding the truth. Annapurna Devi had a kind of mental orientation towards music that was different from Ravi Shankar's. She was like a fantastic batsman for test cricket while Ravi Shankar was an apt batsman for one day international. The difference lied just in their temperament.
