Alright. I've seen millions and millions of people who say "They're stomping for a warning". They're not stomping for a warning, they stomp to keep the blood flowing in their feet so they don't collapse. They also walk 6 feet to another stall.
As a former Grenadier Guardsman I can tell you that the stomping is a long past tradition as a strategy for war to intimidate the enemy when marching towards them. The idea is that they will hear you coming long before they can see you coming and when they do see you, they see a force of well disciplined soldiers formed up in ranks, ready for battle. 💂🏾♂️

0:45 - Queen Victoria did not decide she needed more room and relocated to Buckingham Palace. Originally known as Buckingham House, the building at the core of today's palace was a large townhouse built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703 on a site that had been in private ownership for at least 150 years. It was acquired by King George III in 1761 as a private residence for Queen Charlotte and became known as The Queen's House. William the IV decided to upgrade and extend the Original House as the New Home of the Monarchy, However he died in 1837 before moving in. Buckingham Palace became the London residence of the British monarch on the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837. 04:35 - The Royal Guards Weapons ARE ALWAYS LOADED. 06:58 - Following the Battle of Waterloo, in 1815 all members of the newly named Grenadier Guards were permitted to wear the bearskin. This privilege was restricted to the grenadier company of the regiment. In 1831 this distinction was extended to the other two foot regiments Coldstream and Scots Guards. 07:55 - They are not VEGAN, They are ALL made from Black Bear Skins Supplied by Canada from Culled Black Bears. (They did try a synthetic version but it didn't work, in the rain it looked like a drowned rat) I really wish people that make videos like this would do PROPER Research.
Thank you for clearing things up! So sad people making videos like this spreading false information for $$$... I understood that something was off in the information, so I had to go check in the comments :) I did some duty as a guard like this, but for another country. We always had loaded guns... I got surprised when he said in the video that they weren't loaded...
When he said that they're weapons aren't loaded I figured it was false. Reason being at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Virginia, even their weapons are loaded. So the Queen's guards not having loaded weapons would be pretty stupid
The girls kissing the dude without his consent enrages me. Pretty sure they would cry about it for years if two guys did that to them when they're working.. but ok
They stand out here for hours, no matter the weather, and they are just doing their jobs. But these people have to make things more difficult for them. Shame on them!
@Johnny Courtemanche they carry armed weapons you numpty and they guard the Royal buildings. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have more guards by the Queen's side
Im British and have seen the royal guard in person. All this time I thought they were ceremonial and where just there for image and tradition. Nobody actually knows that if you make them smile theres consequences.
7:46 , actually- this fact isn't true, as they did try to use faux fur for the hats, although using it made it difficult so they converted back to bearskin. The faux fur was easily damaged in rain/snow, causing them to mildew easily or malform, and didn't last as long as the actual bearskin caps, meaning more funding would be spent trying to replace every cap after the bad weather that the guards were out in. So, they did try at first, but it was more efficient to just use real bearskin in the making of the hats. Don't worry though, because the authentic bearskin is hard to damage and doesn't every really need repairs- as they've had the same hats for a very long time, meaning they barely ever have to replace or use extra bearskin for the hats. For any of you thinking they constantly need replacing, the bearskin hats can last at least 80 years before they need to be replaced (assuming they weren't shot off of the respective person), so bears aren't being constantly at risk or being killed for the hats! ^-^
The fainting is because they keep their knees locked when standing at attention. You're suppose to bend your knee slightly or alternate between legs to allow blood flow or this happens pretty damn quick to anyone. Just saying, it's not this badass thing... it's a serious lack of attention to a major health concern for these guardsmen and it should be taken more seriously, not praised. "Standing at attention, or with one's knees locked, may amplify the process.” One of the methods of counteracting the blood-pooling problem is to contract the leg muscles or move about, thus stimulating the blood return to the heart and improving circulation to the brain. Preventing a lack of oxygen to the brain and thus fainting.
I'm in the Canadian army when we do rememberace day ceremony i always get dizzy after about 10 mins of standing at attention thank fully I haven't passed out just yet lol
Yea, the locked knees can do that, but the color "black" also attracts more heat from the sun. "White" clothing repels it a bit, but even without the color, marching and staying at attention looks quite difficult to do when you have something on your head that weighs 1.5lbs while partially reducing vision :(
It’s about discipline they are well aware of the risks. How ignorant is it to assume that the health concerns aren’t taken seriously lol Everyone in England’s health care is taken seriously that’s the perk of a healthcare system
Imagine intentionally making one laugh. The thought process must be like, "Hmm, yes, today I will humour a working soldier and make them owe a sum of money for internet fame."

0:19 is the danish royal guards. They wear blue jackets on regular shifts, and red jackets on special occasions, such as new years eve. Usually less agressive, but otherwise many things said in the video applies to them as well, except that they are always armed with live ammunition, and in special cases they are armed with larger magazines.

As a former Grenadier Guardsman I can tell you that the stomping is a long past tradition as a strategy for war to intimidate the enemy when marching towards them.

The annoying thing is that the soldiers think signing up to protect the biggest scum of the earth monarchy is service!
I'm sure there are exceptions

We also speak out if anyone around is disrespecting police, Firefighters, ambulance, doctors, nurses, ses, retailers, farmers, truck drivers, surf life savers, anyone servicing the people and anyone that is bullying another person.
