It's ruthless violent criminals in casual random conversation that reveals something of a human side while not stopping them from being criminals. That's something that Tarantino initially brought to the table with "Reservoir Dogs".
Guy has always been a beast of an actor. Wouldn’t say his underrated as most know how good he is. But would definitely say very underused from a big blockbuster perspective. How Tarantino hasn’t used him for a film is insane. He acting style is a perfect fit for his style of film.
I love scenes like these, I especially love them when they know how long to drag the dialogue and when to engage the audience with something bullet to the head related. Kudos to Mr McDough for being an insanely gifted director and writer!
Martin McDonagh makes the best movies and doesn’t get nearly enough exposure for them. This movie was a such a quiet release that it was in theaters for maybe 1-2 weeks in my town. Glad I saw the trailer and showed my dad, or else I would’ve missed this movie entirely.
I love the whole film. Amazing cast brilliantly written. Also very well paced and got some really decent twists. But this is my favourite scene in the whole movie. The chemistry these 2 shared burst through the screen. They do so well at bouncing of one another. And really got this film of to a solid running start.

Technically Bugsy Seigel was shot in the cheek, right below the eye orbit. But the pressure from the gunshot was enough to cause his eye to pop out. Seigel was murdered by the Mafia because he was spending alot to build up his lavish casino, but the casino itself wasn't making much profit. It was the mob, through Meyer Lanskey, who gave Seigel the money to build the casino in the first place.
12227UserName I forget which doc it was but Meyer Lansky had misgivings about that decision to take bugsy out but since this was after the coalition of the mafia he was kinda ruled out...
Seigel got shot on his girlfriend's couch and you have to ask yourself if that was a comfortable couch or if he spent his last minutes on Earth sitting on some vintage slipcover that stuck to his clothes even as it protected the upholstery from blood spatter stains.
Jimmy you should know that Bugsy Siegel was the one that got shot through the eye, you met him with Luciano and Lansky, the protégés of Rothstein who’s talking to you right now.
This scene has two random musical cues that last less than ten seconds. Martin McDonough was still learning as a director when it came To music. He’s figured it out by now.
